Worst part about them having this kind of return is that they are not looking that great at all, hence I am not entirely sure if they deserve to be even champions.

If Leverkusen could have just won this game, then league would be more entertaining, then Leverkusen could have won against Bayern too and the gap would be only a single point, and that is what this season really deserved, not a six point gap between these two teams.

Even there will be not much big games as you have written are left for Bayern Munich , every game can be that game where they maybe lose it or playing a draw.
This season there are many smaller Teams that can be making a surprise against big Teams.
At the moment i think that the job from Kompany is not in danger position , he have done so far a good job there and surprised the most of us to be honest.
I guess we will see him again next season in Munich for sure.

I don't think there is still any argument about Bayern Munic winning the German Bundesliga this season because I don't see what will stop them unless maybe their key players are all injured which will not happen. Assuming Borussia Dortmund were in form this season, they would have been in better position to fight Bayern Munic but they are struggling and not even among the contenders for the title. Bayern Leverkusen is a good team but it will be difficult for them to win the title last season and still retain it this season. They don't have the mental readiness to achieve that in a league where we have a club like Bayern Munic that own that title.

Consistency is always the key; that is why Bayern Munich made it to the position they are now in the Bundesliga, because if not for anything but for them to claim being the champions again, as we all know, over a decade they have been the champions of the Bundesliga title, but unfortunately for last season Bayer Leverkusen cut the chain and became the champions of the title. That is a catastrophe. Kovac is probably among the worst coaches the Bundesliga has ever brought forward, but once these guys have had one position with a well known club, they'll get job after job no matter how they perform. I don't get it. I don't think there is any industry where performance is so negligible.

There is one achievement that I think twas pretty good and that was the DFB Pokal win in 2018 with Frankfurt. But he has never really been a well respected coach, destroyed Bayern and has ego issues because he thinks he has to swim against the current and sack players like Thomas Müller back then while there was no reason for it back at the time.

But Dortmund's whole management now sucks. I wonder if Watzke was in favor of Kovac. Sahin was the first huge mistake, now Kovac is the next huge mistake. But Dortmund is so bad now that they probably have a hard time finding any reputable coach who'd be willing to work in Dortmund. They will miss the Champions League and Europa League. They are out of the DFB Pokal and are literally playing for nothing. They only have the CL going for them now, but I doubt they will get any further than the round of 16 if they advance from the playoffs.
