Did Bitmain ever release a new batch at a higher price?
I think this is the first time (except for the S1) where the price has advanced since the introduction of the miner.
The S5 actually went up and down several times with the price of bitcoin going up and down. It went up/down in terms of US Dollars or BTC?

If i remember correctly it was ~$424 or something like this first (Batch 1, before shipping), then went to $415 (batch 4, w/o coupon; coupon was $45, so after was $370), then $340 (batch 5, March 2015) and stayed there. It was always in $$, but i remember it also dipping to $320 or 340 at some point earlier (probably when bitcoin dipped to $175).

Because I know that in 2014, pretty much every miner that you bought resulted in a huge loss with the BTC decreasing and Difficulty increasing. So I am surprised that they increased the price of any miners, except the S1. I remember the S2 was like $3000 and then a month later it was like $2000. And those Scrypt Gridseed miners were worse I think. Like $3000 intro price and then like $300 a few months later.

You are correct, in that it went "up" from approximately $320 to $340 and stayed at $340 I believe for the remainder of it's time. All prices were in USD. It was at $320 but for a short time.

edit: Am I the only person that has noticed this?
This dude's living depends on mining and there is only one hardware provider on the market so he is eager to stick his tongue in BMT's ass as deep as he could as long as they are ready to sell him equipment. Put him on ignore, anyway there is no useful posts from him. My "living" does not depend on bitcoin mining. Am I wanting to use it to get ahead if possible? Yes. My wife is an accountant for an oil and gas company with a 6 figure salary and I have my own business training telephone technicians. I have more training lined up the first quarter of 2016 with CenturyLink. I probably could have more business if I were to get out looking for it. I've been educating myself on other topics lately instead of making calls to gain more business. I used to be on the road training telephone technicians 45 to 49 weeks every year. However, I'm quite content lately just being home with my 4 year old son instead of on the road away from my family all the time the way I used to be. Is there a problem with me trying to workout a way to spend more time with my family? You got your little "tongue in ass" poke in as well. So be it. I don't understand why you ,and others like you, get their freak on with hate speech towards others conducting business with someone else that has nothing to do with you? I could think of a number of reasons why. However, I'm not going to waste any more of my valuable time with the likes of you. You might want to check yourself next time before making your pokes of hate. Invest your time doing something positive instead of something negative. You might begin to have a more positive outlook on life and yourself as well. I think it is amazing to go to work when you feel like it and spend time with your family when you feel like it. It is the most important thing to me. If you are able to do so, I highly recommend it. dmward is setup well. I'm not kissing his ass either, stating facts. There are many people here who aren't hurting. Look at many of the people here who are doing alright. But I don't think those things are really anyone's business. Someone's doxx, especially digs about financial doxx are not welcome. I do however understand you needed to reply with something to make an impact, but you would be better served by using facts, or theories of substance. I understand you saying you feel some people may not consider your feelings about bitmain by coming right behind you with a positive post about bitmain that had nothing to do with your post and you were making a subject regarding something negative. It will be that way. There will be people who do not even have the product being discussed and didn't place an order who will have twice or 30 times more posts about the topic, and there will be people who make a point at how great things are, again maybe even totally contradicting your opinion. They may also talk about their great aunt's lemon pie. Someone else is always there to respond. If you don't even try to notice you will see people who have an initial reaction of disagreeing with anything you say automatically. I'm sure you know one-uppers, someone who always has one newer whatever, well internet is x10. We are all pros doing research. It is the content of your post. The actual meat of what you are trying to say which must not be at that low of a level in taste here. You can curse, talk about off topic crap, call someone out for a scam, in generally most anything except lowball personal attach kinda stuff. Again, I am not taking up for anyone, I still feel there are people trying to make their voices heard about their personal experience who are shouted down by some other people when you cannot take away that persons personal experience, and I think that is where the frustration we saw come from. None of it is worth fighting like that between ourselves, unless it is with **gie. Whatsup with the Bitmain account showing up like a Cali skater saying "Hows tha overclockin dudes?" "Did you wreck some shit yet or waahahahaat?"
|
Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function. Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

sorry for the question but you feel all honest? bitmain really think that is honest? What you have before your eyes steaks? Who says it can not declare a lower price? so if the value of the miner drops, bitmain keeps the price to $ 1,658 because the customs are that price? do not make me laugh, paying bitcoin can declare just fine $ 350, and second-hand and sell it for the price I want. sure that you are very cute, congratulations, you see that you like you scrub the money,. certainly when you send him an RMA for a defective part, he tells you to declare $ 15 right? so that bitmain pays nothing. Wake up and open your eyes,.
I wish I cared for something as much as you care about Bitmain's practice of following export laws. Why are you even posting in this thread? Go find a bridge to crawl under.

Seems to be up to me just tried it. Although they are out of most of the things on site. Intersting thing is it shows 330 on BTC price... which is kinda a big deal once they do have a big miner again. Those who bought at 230 per BTC compared to 330 BTC value.... that is going to make a group of people who ROI much faster as long as they dont raise the prices..

It's working at the moment. It may have been down earlier for whatever reason but it's up now.

Interesting read At least Mt Gox ain't here to screw the BTC rise...again Very true. Right now the Chinese are hedging before their currency devalues. It's kind of panic over there at the moment. So much so, that some are even buying LTC too. Look at the charts for LTC. The S7 batch 4 might be a higher price when it comes back out.

Well I definitely plan on picking up one more S7 when they have more available. I want to replace my last S5 and my S3+.

And now a question about flashing the new firmware. I have to be honest, I don't think I've done this since the S1 days which was a simple .bin file to flash them with. But the new file is a tarball with multiple files in it. I have tried linking the tar.gz file and it wouldn't take it, then I just untar'd it and tried, still nothing. The fully uncompressed file has several files in it, so I didn't want to risk just flashing with the .bin file since there's also a script file and a couple of others...
TL:DR - What's the process to flash my S7 with the 600 MHz firmware upgrade?

There is an upgrade tab on n the system section on the web gui. You browse for file , select it an click flash I down load the file to my pc first Very easy.

Ok, yes, I know where the upgrade tab is in the gui, but do I just use the tar.gz file to perform the upgrade? Maybe the file was corrupted when I downloaded it so it wasn't working. I'll have to try again when I get home tonight.
