after a while these new workers appeared the pwd also changed now I'm able to connect to miner but cant access it,
Someone hack into your machine and change the password and point workers toward their own account maybe? If you haven't done a factory reset yet, now is the time. This has happened to me a couple of times with miners that still had factory password. After you reset to factory settings, reset you administrator password and it will not happen again.

Maybe they are selling all of their S7 from their hosting centre and mining Ethereum instead.

No matter how many times you say this it won't make it true.

I've learned so much from spending the the past few days reading this thread! The culture here is awesome. Keep it up! I'm looking forward to buying my first ASIC ever with bitmain's S7 batch 15, especially now that they are so much more affordable. I would be so excited if I could even get back 75% of what I put into the hardware. It's really the knowledge I gain and being apart of the mining culture that's priceless to me.

At $482 after the coupon, it's really hard not to ROI unless you buy super expensive PSU and have crazy high electric rate.

So why offer a $100 coupon and not just make the price $100 less?
Psychological reasons? Where if you have the coupon you think its an opportunity?

I'll have to buy the EVGA 1600W Gold PSU to take care of my S7, that will hurt my bank a little unfortunately lol. :*( I'm in college right now so I'm one of the few fortunate people blessed with free electricity. I might as well have a miner running on the side to recoup back some of my tuition fees. Hehe > Given my situation, I'm not too worried about the long term repercussions of the halving. I was going to invest some money into buying bitcoin directly, but the alternative (mining) seems to be so much more fun and better in the long term.

You can't mine with a S7 if you live in a dorm because its too loud. Maybe get an A6 or S3

I think it's pretty intelligent what Bitmain is doing. 1) The $100 coupons will drive up demand for the S7's they're trying to release. Demand is surely not what it once was with the halving coming up & increases in difficulty. I'm sure they have an efficient manufacturing process that's able to mass produce these machines. I think it's simply more profitable for them to drive up demand with incentives rather than to scale down their manufacturing process (especially in the long run). That's probably why the prices on the machines have been incrementally decreased with newer batches. 2) The coupons seem to be aimed directly at previous customers, it gives the illusion that Bitmain is giving back to their loyal customers and the mining community. From a PR stance, IF or when bitmain releases new products, previous customers who were satisfied will probably make a bulk of their orders. 3) Many people will purchase at MSRP and don't know about the coupons or wont bother trying to get them. It would really suck if the next generation of miners are released a week or two after I place my order. It's not crazy to think they'll be released soon with diminishing demand/returns on their increasingly more primitive S7's.

You can't mine with a S7 if you live in a dorm because its too loud. Maybe get an A6 or S3
I dunno, downgrading to a lower hashing rate for a greater premium doesn't really entice me heh. My "dorm" is also more like an apartment and I'm by myself so that's like +9999 points for the S7. A little sound doesn't bother me tbh, especially when it yells "ching cha ching."

I can always throw it in the bathroom... although the machine probably wouldn't like my 1 hour steaming hot showers too much. #miningstruggles

Trust me you won't be able to stand the noise. Try getting an A6 instead.

I looked up the decibel levels and it does seem that the S7 does make quite some noise. From what I gather it typically outputs about 60-70 dB, similar to a hairblower. Although that is quite some noise, I think I can tolerate it. I guess it can join the orchestra in my room along with my PC and huge AC running all day long. This aside, the noise in the S7 comes from its fans right (that's the only moving part I can think of)? Could I not just replace the stock fans with quieter fans if noise was a concern?
