Happy New Year! OK is Honored with the new cross collaboration with SOIL: Congratulations to SOIL for claiming the "Bonus permanent add promo" (respected for sending bfore perma coins spots got filled) showing Real commitment to their communities to support long term adoption. SOIL is getting integrated in the base coins for all coming ROKOS flavors releases if all testing goes good. What is ROKOS? http://rokos.space

how do you figure? its only been two or three days of low volume trades, but its also the holidays. if you analyze the chart patterns over the last month, we started out with a double bottom pattern between dec.10 and 17th, with the support return by the 28th reaching above the resistance the security met on the 13th of december, on somewhat higher total volume. the rise to the new peak was formed by a triple peak/valley reversal pattern, with each valley meeting resistance at a higher level than the previous valley and each peak reaching a higher level than the previous peak, with a diminishing volume along the whole of the pattern. this shows a diminishing selling pressure, and historically results in a higher volume breakout. since december 27th, we have experience a low volume plateau, bracketed between 750-850 satoshi. all of this is easily attributed to the shift in supply/demand with our block reward halving and increased targeted block times, with the market adjusting to it. this is healthy, expected and in no way portends the death of SOILcoin by any means. before making such prognostications, you should really study the chart patterns and do some research on them regarding bull and bear markets on the exchanges, how they relate to overall trade strategies and i think you might see things in a whole different light. its simply irresponsible to make bold predictions like yours based on two or three days of low volume on the exchange. anynow, there are new developments in the pipeline, with one project likely ready for public deployment early next week, which should increase the overall exposure of SOILcoin in a very positive way. im presently working on the website for this development, which is a bit of a personal project, but all the pieces are pretty much in place already. im simply waiting for certain outside circumstances to be concluded tomorrow before i can finish setting it up. ill be making an announcement on that monday or tuesday at the latest, when its up and running for the public. i think you will all find it very interesting and have great hopes that it will bring in a new set of consumers for SOILcoin. the history behind similar ventures seems to point that way, although this will be the first attempt using smart contract platforms on the EVM in this way. (yes, i know im being purposefully vague, which is very much unlike the way i generally communicate our upcoming developments, but this is one of those few times i dont want to let the cat out of the bag until its ready to be shaved.) couple that with our impending inclusion as a base currency on the ROKOS OS for Raspberry Pi, which is presently accepted and being tested against their system (as they had not had experience with ETH-based currencies previously) [with much thanks gong out to community member, crypto4jan, for bringing SOILcoin to their attention]. this development will make cross chain interconnectivity much easier to attain, which is a definite desire for us right now, not only to be able to have a true inclusion of other cryptocurrencies on the forthcoming SOIL-Ex, rather than merely pegged subcurrencies for them, but will also enable us to begin building a community of similarily themed altcoins. (ie: renewable energy conscious, agriculturally aware currencies and projects) our network global hashrate is very low right now, certainly, as the system adjusts to a mega-farm having mined against the system which raised the difficulty very high. thanks to the kimoto gravity well, this difficulty is decreasing as it should, and the lengthy block times of the last few days are quickly correcting themselves. stick around, you may just see things get very interesting in the short term.

Just be patient this shall change in the near future. Now SOIL is on ROCOS what is funded by OKChash. I believe SOIL can rise quickly soon or later and gets attention of the crypto and IoT communities. And if PoS for Etherium is availble then this can also implemented for SOIL and then the RasberryPI ecosystem gives so much potention! If I had 5 BTC then I bought all the SOIL I could buy but better that there is some sheap SOIL for new investors.

Dead network. Transaction on bittrex.com require 250 confirmations. Already passed 24 hours and is confirmed 105/250. http://stats.soilcoin.xyz/ say block time was almost 9 hours. the difficulty was raised very quickly, thanks to what was likely a mega farm that worked on the system a few days ago. i noted on the SOIL network intelligence page that our global network hashrate SOARED from several hundred Mh/s to close to 15 Gh/s for the better part of the day. this resulted in nearly impossible difficulty once the mega farmer logged off the system. the kimoto gravity well is doing its job and the difficulty is reducing every block, the graph for that looks like a nice steep ski-hill right now as the system rights itself. no system is perfect, and these sorts of "attacks" happen, but how the algorithms work protects us in the long run. that super long block (31,859 seconds) sticks out like a sore thumb in the last block times graph. our average block-time is now at 4 minutes, and these will drop back down gradually to the appropriate level as smoothly and non-disruptively as the system is designed to do. are these sorts of "attacks" deliberate? id hate to think so, but one never knows. the crypto-communtiy is an odd place sometimes, and someone of malicious intent can become that way for any reason... id prefer to hope in the general altruism we all try to express as a community, but thats a fragile thing when you watch how many users feel "contributing" to a community is by spreading as much FUD as they can. it is what it is, and simply a part of doing business.... is there anything we can do to protect ourselves from similar in the future? again, theres no easy answer. hopefully with near future developments we might see appropriate upward trends in valuation which makes mining more profitable again to potential miners and the system corrects itself faster. ill write ritchie at bittrex and ask him to slash that confirmation time down while we are experiencing this "block time kerfuffle" to help alleviate deposit and withdrawl times on the system.

... Good work, altsheets! Small bug: an address pasted in the edit field is recognized as block number, not as a soil address. Thanks, well spotted. I am really surprised to see that bug. I did not see that, when I coded and tested. Will look into it! ABEESOIL 0.2.3 ...
I miss one of the most interesting functions: the transactions regarding an address We all do. It is not part of the Ethereum API, as strange as that sounds. I could not believe it myself, when I first encountered the missing function. A massively financed coin coding project doesn't even provide a list of transactions to and from an address? They must be funny people. I asked around a lot already. On gitter it was mentioned in September "could do that as a weekend job" - but even now, it is still not there yet. Github issues is full of requests about that topic.

############ update ########################## This project now lives on github: https://github.com/altsheets/ethjsre###########################################
########### kept only for historical reasons: ############ ############## OLD VERSION ! ################### JSRE commands "altsheets.js" v02 (12/Feb/2016) to make my life easier on the commandline (extension to the linux install post, but works on all systems) Preparations (once): 1) read the following JS code, so that you can trust it 2) save it into "altsheets.js" (*) (*) into the folder where you usually are when you type "gsoil attach"Each time you want to use it: 1) gsoil attach 2) loadScript("altsheets.js") 3) help() This is version v02, save it to "altsheets.js" // soil currency JSRE scripts // for easier use of commandline. // // version v02 (c) 2016 AltSheets Dev // // gsoil attach // loadScript("altsheets.js") // help()
var version="v02", currency='soil', fee=0.00105, altsheets="0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c";
function showAllBalances() { // goes through all eth.accounts, // and prints and sums balances var total=0; eth.accounts.forEach(function(id){ balance=web3.fromWei(eth.getBalance(id),currency); console.log(id, balance, currency); total+=parseFloat(balance); }); return total };
var bal=showAllBalances; // shortcut for the above
function send(addrFrom, addrTo, amount) { // sends currency from to, already subtracting fee var result = eth.sendTransaction({ from: addrFrom, to: addrTo, value: web3.toWei( amount - fee, currency) }); return result; };
function help() { // shows useful commands console.log("--- useful built in commands ---"); console.log("eth.accounts"); console.log("admin.nodeInfo"); console.log("net.peerCount"); console.log("admin.peers"); console.log("eth.blockNumber"); console.log("eth.pendingTransactions"); console.log("exit"); console.log("--- extended by my scripts ---"); console.log("showAllBalances()"); console.log("bal()"); console.log("send(addrFrom,addrTo,"+currency+"AmountInclFee)"); console.log("--- version "+version+" --- for new versions of this see "+currency+" thread ---"); return "please reward altsheets: " + altsheets; }
TL;DR:I now only have to type bal()and I see all the balances on all my addresses, incl. the sum of them all. EDIT: retweetIf you like this, show it: [SOIL] 0x8da4fc05ca343e6a41646194e91931d9f413a40c BTC 1M4EaZVprZEmtrS3G78fMFy8yGVgdUJMXv Thanks.

Yep, still hitting some blocks with a single 270x solo. The only solution to lower the difficulty.

soil, my node has new address now, so can you change it in the OP? Old one ends with ...95.170.180.71:39420 - it must be deleted from node list. New one is: "enode://48eae3edf968768bc3c4cb43e3bedfc379a21eaab73351d8db4cdc910def84dd5ea91152493e31534e89624f2a7bab7d0cc18ad3056b8843981a1cecfaf922d8@5.189.246.71:39420" online 99% of time. Also, can you put my name to "main-net node contributors" on the OP? I want that moment of glory
