Just saw the screen which you have to set your bitmain userid for the "solo mining" option and you earn 1 bitmain's point per GH. I hate point system .... so much.

I really hope we can tweek this for our address and pool. I'm pretty sure we can.

Interesting line from the review.

If you do not want to use solo mode, this will need to log in via SSH to own mining machine, change the relevant documents to achieve.

So it may be possible to just SSH and setup to Mine wherever you want?

Rich

The good news is they show it being a host for U3's very good getting that speed.  If it can do that with a couple of U3's that would be pretty great.

With U3 setup, and U3 status it almost looks like you can point to other pools on U3.  Fingers crossed that you are able to do this.

Yeah I guess so, but now im receiving a email every 2 min saying they have opened a ticket.
How can a big company like that have such a bad info system.  Tongue Lets hope the automatic email will stop. So far 7 emails.

looks like a US plug tucked away there at the side...why do we need an extra usa adapter for $1 usd then?

its a good question. I actually beleive that you do not need the adapter. look at it:

It looks like it adds a grounding pin, but otherwise serves no purpose (that grounding effect wont transfer to the R1 AFAIK)

Is it just me?
That plug does not look like it fits that adaptor.

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

it will probably fit: see those two vertical slits in the bottom row.
however, i suggest to order without, then just go to target, best buy, home depot, etc. to get one.

Ahh I see it now. Thanks.

It looks like the 2 pins on the R1 flip out (like a lot of wall-wart devices do) and completely compatible with the typical 2-pronged (L,N) 110-120V sockets in North America.

The adapter looks to simply convert that to include a grounding pin as per 3-pin (L,N,G) outlets. Only reason you would otherwise use it is if it features a 115->230V converter (which i doubt)

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

I was a little surprised to see the plugs that look like standard US plugs on router.   I'm suprised they did not show back before now.

I don't know I cant figure out why they would sell an adapter if you don't need it.  I can't imagine them selling a us to us adapter.  But they may have surprised me and have it going from us 2 prong to us 2 prong with ground going nowhere.

I wouldn't bet on it being the US standard. The picture posted shows them folded in and from a bad angle. Chinese Standard prongs are similar to US, they are just angled inwards. Another possibility is that they sent the reviewer a developer unit.

If they are selling the R1 with a US adapter, odds are you will need it.

I think some people are pointing out the fact that even if an adaptor is needed you do not need to double the price of the R1 to get the one from bitmain. Get one locally if needed.

Someone here will get one when they get back from vacation and show us the pins and tell us the dimensions.
It would be nice if bitmain did such. I'm sure someone has asked them, right?

It will be very hit and miss until holiday is over.   The majority of workforce will not be there until it's over.  When they warn about a holiday they really do mean taking it off.

After they get back it looks like they have quite a bit of things to do.  I suspect a backlog of items for a bit.

It does not confirm instantly.  It take 4 (i think either that or 3) conformations for it to confirm.  If it does not do that in a hour it shows unpaid. But you can email and after holiday they will fix it.

Has it been a hour since you paid?  If less then hour your waiting on those confirmations.

84 confirmations already...I sent them 3 x emails but no reply. I don't know if it is because I sent 0.002 btc MORE than was needed by accident?!? Anyway now it says my order is void but I hope it gets sorted after the holiday... have to say I have never had problems like this before with bitmain

They will fix it after holiday.  If it goes void they have to fix it manually it seems they don't automate the process.

But once holiday is over give them a email.  They likely will have a backlog from holiday so might take a bit longer then normal.  But try to include order number, paid to address, paid from, transaction, link to transaction, etc.  I put all possible information they might need in email and it seems to work.  But it is a pain if it does not get confirmed status.

Yeah thanks will do that. I am trying to not worry about it...patience is a virtue n all that! I just hope they have stock still to cover my order when it gets sorted  Sad

Otherwise I guess I can use the refunded btc to do some trades...which was my original plan so a win win situation  Cheesy
