If you are annoyed by people asking stuff and new users coming to your project you should probably find a different job.

I think one of the most important aspects of any crpto project is the community behind it.

And right now your communication is really not friendly and there is no reason for that.

I hope this will change and we will become a nice growing community, otherwise i see this project not going anywhere.

Iota desperately needs a community/communications manager and exchanges.

Yes! Can we get a community manager?

This will also allow david to focus 100% on what he is good at - interfacing with the companies that iota hopes to work with and creating our vision!

Yes, exactly, David is good at business development, and we need someone to communicate to the community as well as potential 3rd party developers, etc.. There are several bounty projects that no one is aware of, and Iota can certainly use new development talent.

If you guys want to put up bounties for someone that can keep the community organized and always stay on top of community concerns, nothing has stopped you in the past 10 months. As for 3rd party developers, I love them, never had drama with anyone of them, the only people I ever have drama with are people who do nothing other than complain, or pure trolls.

If I understood correctly, you are a fucking big whale.

If someone is destined to fund a community manager, you are ***the*** guy.

(..) But if the community finds 2-3 people that are really good at organizing and decide to fund them, we can definitely talk directly to these people to make the process of information sharing more streamlined. But this *has* to be a community effort. (..)

I would be interested in performing such role. I've been into crypto for more than 3 years and I've been following iota for months now, also I'm cofounder and executive member of Blockchain Education Network Italia, aswell as cofounder and marketing researcher for inbitcoin, an italian crypto startup. I've been involved in many community management projects for both altcoins and my local Bitcoin community, so acting as community manager would not be something new for me at all.
I've already personally met Dominik and our hometowns are literally in the same italian region, and also it would not even be a problem for me to travel to Berlin from time to time if there is need to personally meet the dev team. I would also have no problem verifying my real identity (already use that in iota slack).

As David said, to perform such role I think some kind of funding (community?) would be needed, not because of greed but because in order for it to be effective, it needs to be done professionally.

Let me know what the community and the devs/foundation think!

a message I posted some days ago, it kinda went unnoticed, but I'm still here and open to discussion Smiley

Scott J and I, Lukas Fiedler,  are possibly interested in filling this position as we feel it would fit well with our current work on iotasupport.com. If you don't know what Iotasupport is: It's a website designed to host tutorials and information on the IOTA network and has proven to be very useful in the last month.

If this is something that the community wanted to fund and the Foundation agreed they could work with us, then we would like to agree on general expectations before hand. Both of us can invest more than 5h per week on the job.

I would definitely agree on Scott J.

Lukas Fiedler and olloman seems fine as well.

So maybe let's just start a vote , anyone knows a good place to vote for this ?

if there is an additional need, I would also step up to take parts of this position. I run tangle-blog.com and help hours every week in slack anyway, wouldn't be so much of a difference.

So we have volunteers, now we need the community to step up and fund this.

Those involved in the initial sale should consider if this initiative will help IOTA and therefore their investment.

Amazing to see you are willing to help fund this, thank you  Smiley

Perhaps someone on the Foundation could create an address to keep the funds in while this is being organised? Or otherwise maybe someone like Yassin?

The community will also need to choose who they would like to do this.

More input needed Smiley

That would be ideal, I really like iotasupport.com and would be natural that you guys update/communicate with the community, etc.. I think it's important to have someone here to handle questions, concerns, etc.. rather than David having to write up long responses to questions already answered. Also, I'm not a whale anymore, I sold 2/3's my Iota to organizations that I thought would help adoption

Who are these organizations and why are they not transparent about 'helping IOTA' then?

Two of them are major exchanges, one is a large tech consulting company, one is a device company, I'd rather not list their names since they haven't given permission to do so, but you probably know who they are. Anyway, this is a perfect example why we need an community manager. We are trying to be constructive and all you do is interject with some stupid bullshit negative comment (as usual).

The hypocrisy is killing me. A few days back you were whining about us not being transparent enough about 'Big Deal' and calling it 'bullshit' and now when I pose the exact same kind of question, without any negative bullshit, it is "stupid bullshit negative comment". My brain cannot process that people such as yourself is being made rich of our work so I will proceed to ignore you.

Ok. Guys. @iotatoken, no need to point that out again, it only makes things worse here, @zanzibar, try to understand him, he made his point several times and I can understand that this annoys him. What I basically wanted to say: Stop fight. Save your energy for developing and making this community great again. We won't achieve any goal by having this discussion here AGAIN.

Instead: Guys, IOTA is such a great thing no matter what. Of course people have different opinions, even weird ones. But this is not the place to fight/discuss over this. There is no need for this. Everybody loses his breath for nothing. End this fight now and here and lets start a conversation full of the spirit of IOTA. And who knows. Maybe some new people will join and see how great this community is.

Peace,

Lol, you are so dramatic, I didn't collect Iota from the community, I'm privately trading, big difference. Anyway, you are right, I've made a lot from Iota, so I appreciate that.  Kiss  Though it's a bummer for the community that Iota wasn't on exchanges prior to this BTC pump we're about to witness.

Whether, Iota has been distributed to the public, I seemed to see Iota would be great for this project, see the price per Iota very expensive for holders and developers and Iota are so good for the future .. Smiley
