Your local IoT meetup is the great place to get IOTA connected with the developers and startups in the IoT space. I have been in my local IoT meetup several times and have met many people they are almost all very interested in IOTA and the distributed ledger technology.

I created a one-page flier to give out and help me to explain what is IOTA in the meetup when I talked to people. It is a summary of IOTA. Please feel free to use it when you meet people. When you feel you can't explain what is IOTA very well, this flier can be helpful.

It takes time to get people really know about IOTA and don't expect you will see some immediate results from the meetup. Just hope that you might be able to get IOTA connected with some developers and business persons in the IoT space. We need this kind ground work and everyone can do it.

you can download the flier here - http://forum.iotatoken.com/t/connecting-to-your-local-iot-meetup-groups/267/3

no bikini required. you can see rules on the iota forum link, just to prevent cheats.

but i can make an exception, you can post a photo of you with bikini on.  Grin

Bounty #1

Create IOS IOTA WALLET that is able to send/receive/generate address but must not compromise security of the seed(trust-less). Ability to select own remote nodes to use or if you have even better ways. Must have an easy way of entering seeds. and seed must always be required by default when a transaction is sent, and ability to set a timer to remember seeds. MUST BE OPENSOURCED/pass quality from independant dev to claim bounty.
BOUNTY STARTING at 200G and up to 500G or the equivalent in btc/usd valued as of today from me, depending how much everyone likes/use it.

*Payment type will be picked as of my liking at time of completion. (eg. if iota tenfolds, i may choose to pay with btc, if decreases i may choose to stick with iota just to avoid bankrupting myself)
*Once winner is announced, other applications to this bounty will not be eligible, even if you have evidence that you were first to complete it. so it will be your own responsibility to claim in time.

Bounty #2

Create an educational video on the topic of iota, what potential uses it can have over others what futures could be with it, and the general iot/btc movement, use your imagination, and when ever that video hits 1,000,000 views before others you can claim 1T or the equivalent in btc/usd valued as of today from me.
Facts/theory must be correct as of posting date, so no bs. video must be specific, not to just chuck a few words in a viral video/conference video/other videos and expect to claim. video must include link to iota official website/slack/bitcointalk.

*Payment type will be picked as of my liking at time of completion, but will be at minimum a payment of IOTA. (eg. if iota tenfolds, i may choose to pay with btc, if decreases i may choose to stick with iota just to avoid bankrupting myself)
*in addition a second winner of 100,000 views will also get a runner up bounty of 300G with all the same conditions as above, except if you choose to claim at 100,000 views you forfeit any further claim with this video even if it goes viral.
*in case of winning any claims you will be required to provide all personal info in according to money/tax regulations if i need it.
*no fake views, videos with faked views will be excluded and may come with a law suit.
*if i believe the video is not fairly made or contents not good enough for the bounty somehow, i can choose it to be voted through nxt voting or similar to release or not to release bounty. im a fair person, as long as you are fair you will expect to get it.
*Once winner is announced, other videos will not be eligible for bounty, even if you have evidence that you were first to reach the number of views. so it will be your own responsibility to claim in time.

please help cross post to other forums to achieve this goal by quoting me here.

After receiving some feedbacks, I will lower the requirements of Bounty #2
instead of 1,000,000 views it shall be 100,000 views to claim 1T
Instead of 100,000 views for the runner up, it shall be 20,000 views to claim 300G.
same conditions above still applies.

and i will allocate funds in an address so that you can see they are there. I will not hand over to escrow, just my personal choice. One of the reason is I want to gain some trust for my own reputations/future endeavours.

funds address will be provided later in the iota forum.

David is seeking now for BigDeal donations. But the process is going slow.

I see a problem this way - during Foundation funding someone donate 0 and someone donate 10% or more. Now with this next move we've been asked to go below 10% in our stakes, which is kind of psychologically tough - even though overall valuation of our stakes will go higher.

So this is my view of the problem. If someone has something to say, you are welcome  Smiley

I haven't received my manual claim yet, so can't donate to the Big Deal. I pledged to the foundation out of my ICO stake, but for the Big Deal I prefer to donate myself AFTER I receive my IOTA in my own wallet. Many will feel the same. Complete the manual claims first, then start a big deal drive

I struggle to follow this logic. You had 6 months to claim automatically, if you did not you are on a waiting list, but processing all manual claims is quite time consuming, thus it takes time as we cannot halt the whole project for those who did not take 10 min to claim in 6 months, yet all you have to do now is to pledge an amount, and you somehow refuse because...?

I went through the claim process and i thought it worked (I saw my balance), but when I checked later it hadn't worked. My logic is the time it takes for you to verify that my donation pledge is valid would be not much more than the time I estimate it would take you to send my IOTA's through. I'm not refusing to do anything, I just prefer to have my IOTA in my wallet before I do anything further in this community. Right this very minute I control zero % of my  IOTA, so I feel nervous ... when I control my full stake I can concentrate on what happens next. I'm just being honest about how I feel. I have zero IOTA in my control

Which IRI version were you using when you saw the balance?

version 0.9.23-b, I followed the instructions to claim, saw my expected balance in the history, so closed the wallet. When I checked after the claim period I generated over 10 addresses and none had any balance, then I was told my claim had failed and I needed to go through manual claim process

For all those who thought that we were thinking too far ahead into the future when we made IOTA quantum proof and that our estimates that it would be very relevant much sooner than most thought:

I have said this many times, but there was 98 (!) people who did not claim automatically, it takes about 10-20 minutes per person, yes 10-20 minutes per person, and most of the day I do not have time to process manual claims, I got 1000 other tasks to do. Just today the IOTA Foundation team has been in 4 calls and prepare for a large meeting that will take place tomorrow, thus processing manual claims is not high on the list. Your iotas is safe, that's all you need to know for now, IOTA isn't even on the exchanges yet, so even if you're a speculator you got no reason to worry.

What you should think about is: "How much do I want to donate to the foundation? How much do I want to donate to Big deal?", because this is something you can decide *today* which will make the process a lot more smooth for the entire ecosystem.

I have been inspired by Iota from day 1 and even more as it progresses.
It's just such a revolutionary technology.
We as a community must make the Big Deal Happen.
Or do we want to miss out on the crypto project of the decade?

(I want to donate 5%, ( I have donated 5% on the foundation as well) but I also have trouble sending Iota, how can we make the 100% on the Big Deal asap?)
