IOTA works now better than ever before. Bootstrapping some Nodes to  upgraded 1.0.3.eta seems to be a kind of breakthrough.
Please try out the new IOTA experience which is pretty awesome, even with the current version 1.0.2.
Download here: https://github.com/IOTAledger/iota-gui-beta/releases

When is 1.0.3 available?
Actually 1.0.2 has kind of worked for me recently but I'd like to be a part of breakthrough Smiley

I published 1.0.3.eta for bootstrapping servers, but some users upgraded too which allowed to reduce fragmentation of the network.

Should ordinary users download 1.0.3.eta also, or do you prefer that just bootstrapping servers use it?

can devs make a zip file of the latest wallet?

I tried everything and download still fails, I'm thinking because of the .exe extension and it's coming from github.

no wallet no exchange?

www.iotatoken.com > Get Started and you can choose 2 different UIs which run on Windows, Mac and Linux, so plenty of wallets.

Re: Exchange, from day 1 we have been extremely explicit about IOTA being a genuine project to revolutionize the distributed ledger ( which we have achieved ), and establish it as a true standard in Internet-of-Things as the 'Ledger-of-Things', this is our focus. All the exchanges are lined up to add IOTA, but we will only complete this process once the network is ready, we're not remotely worried about exchange listing, it's a necessary component for the ecosystem to grow, but it's not acute. All I can say is that it will come this month in 90% likelihood.

I figured out why the download failed and installations fail with IOTA, since no devs came to help (really reassuring there  Roll Eyes ):

If you have an anti-virus like Avast, disable it temporarily before you download and when you install the wallet.

That fixed my issues, maybe it will help others.

A good advice, thank you very much.

I guess the trouble is caused because the exe is not signed. To sign an exe for windows is not much effort and it would help against fake wallets as well. I was really shocked when I downloaded the first IOTA wallet and there wasn't even a hash to verify the exe!

(really reassuring there  Roll Eyes ):
help from the community should be taken into consideration as well, and not simply ignored Roll Eyes
but, thanks for the antivirus solution... as I am not really a "windows person", that false positive possibility didn't come to my mind.

I actually did try that and even someone sent me a link to an independent download they did for me.

I appreciate the help, but it didn't do anything since the anti-virus was just deleting it anyways.

Devs should have stepped in and tried to offer a solution or anything showing that they are concerned with their users trying to use the product.

Instead you get a sarcastic response or none at all.

Social skills need to be developed in order to deal with other less advanced users, otherwise the product just stays stale and drives away potential customers.
I see this problem all too often in crypto scene, but oh well I'm used to it.

Dude, no need for the drama. Do you excpect all devs to read BCT daily and solve every users problem? The project would stall if they used up all their time reading and answering questions, this is a task that any advanced user can do.

If I saw your question I would have recommended to switch the antivirus off for a few minutes, no need for the devs to do anything.

Devs expected some level of expertise from users. No offense, for the project it's better if users below that level sell their iotas and never come back. Iota is for machines.

ok

This is precisely why we took the approach of being anti-speculators, IOTA is for IoT, the only excuse not to be able to use IOTA at this stage is that you're an entrepreneur/activist on some IoT project, is that the case? If not, you should have listened to the infinite posts we made about how IOTA was never going to cater to speculators.

It's pretty amazing how one can do literally EVERYTHING right in terms of being blunt and upfront about everything from day 1, and still have to deal with criticism such as this.

Just GET INVOLVED and you will get all the help you need, but if your only intention is to make money of our hard work, do not complain - ever.
