Everyone should read this IOTA’s more detailed response to MIT DCI. It is very interesting and revealing - https://blog.iota.org/official-iota-foundation-response-to-the-digital-currency-initiative-at-the-mit-media-lab-part-1-72434583a2

What do you mean by "revealing" ?
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

It means it is telling you something you don’t know before.

Are the KYC addresses listed in the blogpost (https://blog.iota.org/claims-and-reclaims-finalization-e692844c505a) the old addresses of the old seeds or the new addresses of the new seeds where the foundation should send the tokens in this reclaim process?

This is important to know because afaik there's no way to know what your old addresses with the old seeds were anymore unless you for some reason had written them down somewhere.

The old (reused) addresses. Afaik you can check them with your old seed (history -> addresses), you might have to generate and attach a few because of the snapshot that happened in October.

No you can't, because the algorithm that generates the addresses has changed. So if you log in with the old seed, you won't be generating the same addresses you previously had.

IOTA Foundation, please release a list with the NEW addresses as you have those as well, so people can actually check if they are on the list or not.

Please?

At the end of November 2017, the IOTA Foundation has partnered with Microsoft, Fujitsu, Cisco, Samsung and more than 20 other companies to launch the first publicly available data market for the Internet of Things. This work is particularly intriguing where the market is fully supported by the IOTA distributed ledger. IOTA cryptocurrencies with the same name can be used for circulation in IoT products worldwide......

they didn't partner with Microsoft. That turned out to be a lie misunderstanding.

Bittrex and other giant exchanges will surely be listing IOTA. It's just a matter of time and negotiations on the price on how much will be the cost. But when it listed IOTA, the coin will surely be pump to so high that it will legitimized its position as one of the top coin with big marketcap. It can even replace the position of ripple as the number 2 coin on all crypto currencies. I still hold some of my coins for the bittrex entry.

Don't sell your IOTAs, this is a few of the projects that are really worth your money, if they succeed...they will set a new standard for blockchain.

When an avowedly joke currency DOGE is worth over a billion. There may just be a massive crypto bubble. Maybe that's why people are selling. Doesn't mean iota ain't good, just may crash if there is a general correction.

I don't understand the article. What they are stating is that a lot of data needs to be transferred for IoT and iota will make that free. Iota is a coin though, it doesn't transfer data. For that you will need a sim card, and a 4G data plan. At least that's how it's currently done. Can anyone shed some light on the use cases?

The tangle can store data, just like a blockchain. It creates a record of data and that data is valuable.
