Steph Curry has signed off new contract with Golden State champion for another five years, for which he will be rewarded with $ 201,000,000. It's about the so-called "supermax contract" - the best ever signed in the NBA, for the first time in history has exceeded the limit of $ 200,000,000 - absolutely earned for one of the best players of today, as he has not been on the list of top 30 basketball players In the league.
for someone who won both mvp and the championship it is well deserved We had before in past seasons kobe, garnett and the big shaq got to be the league's highest paid. But it will be insane for the GSW to keep all of there big four players together when Thompson becomes a free agent in 2019 and Green in 2020? They'll be in tax territory with those just those 4 players. If they keep them together, the Warriors will be paying an obscene amount of tax in 2021. They will to be champions every season to keep the cash flow in.

Winning the championship every season seems to be no problem with the warriors if they will all be healthy, but in my point of view I don't think they will all stick together because in the end there will be a problem with money for stars who will not be compensated well. Players like Green and Thompson maybe underrated but they are a good member of the team especially green who is the most defensive player this year.

IMO Durant deserved that way better than Steph based on their performances this past season.

Maybe gsw doesn't wants to let go steph that's why they gave him this offer though you are correct that Durant should be more deserving for that but still we also knew how steph help them in terms of numbers and gsw will not let them lose the opportunity to lose him up.

IMO Durant deserved that way better than Steph based on their performances this past season. Maybe Durant deserves it more for last season, but remember, last season is not all what matters. Curry was main player of Warriors when Durant wasn't here, and he carried Warriors to title 2015 and many records in 2016. Even now, when Durant has come, Curry is still first option in the attack. Also, don't forget that he was out of top 50 most paid players, even he was one of the best players in entire NBA. So, he definitely deserves this contract. Maybe more than anyone else.

Oh wow Paul George was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder now, will this be a one shot for him to prepare him going to the Lakers as what the rumors tell us. Or him and Russell Westbrook will be a long term partner in OKC. Well stepping all of that aside I think the value of trading superstars for a good player is gone. Look at what they exchange in order to obtain Paul George and Jimmy Butler? Its like this superstars are really want to be gone in those cities that is why they are on a bargain trade. That is what I am seeing right now.
I thought he was going to HOU. HOU is trading so much right now that it signals it's acquiring another star besides CP3. Let's see who he is. Houston is definitely not done with trading, I think they are targeting someone on the level of Blake Griffin or LaMarcus Aldridge, a player like that can definitely make them a strong contender. As for the Thunder and Paul George, that was a crazy surprise, no one saw that coming. OKC is also on a situation where it's now one player away from being another true contender especially if the Warriors lose someone (even Iguodala leaving could be a major move for them if they can't replace him). The bad part in all this is that the East becomes a complete wasteland now (it was already but now it's confirmed). Lebron will most definitely stay with the Cavs, but imagine if he leaves for LA!

Yes I observed that when I checked out the salaries of players and for a MVP his salary his lower than others. I saw that attitude of Stephen Curry is what made him deserved this contract, he is receiving lower salary since they became a champion and there's no increase after bringing the title.

Many changes in NBA next season. Paul George in OKC, we didn't see it coming. CP3 in Rockets and Redick in Sixers, with this Clippers wouldn't be as tough as before. Melo on Cavs and maintaining their Big3, I guess that would match up now the line up of GSW.
Curry on breaking the $200M barrier which is he really deserved. He only paid in the last four season for $44M and next season he will be paid $40.2M. He's hard work has been paid. Well done.

Andre Iguodala has agreed to re-sign with the Golden State Warriors on a three-year, $48 million contract. GSW offered $45 first but Iguodala manager managed to increase the offer after some offers came from the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs and Sacramento Kings. But the question is how the warriors have so much money to play with ? Can someone break down the 2017/2018 contracts of the big 6 ?The Salary cap is at $99 million and Curry alone is getting 40 million. With all of these players no wonder they will have an easy wins next season and another title will be in the road.

Yeah the lakers would.most likely take back the main banner for la this season as they've been quite and are still busy this off season. Cp3's departure is a bug dent to how the clippers play so i'm wondering how they will adjust.

Many feared Igoudala would be the first one that GSW dynasty lose. I was also expecting he would sign with another team since the taxes in California is too much and lets face it, these players should earn as much as they can before retiring. Also, salary cap is not exactly 99m. The tax level for the 2017-18 season is $119.266 million. %20 of Curry's salary is tax. I think this preseason is a just a calm before the storm because next preseason with Paul George and LBJ going free agent will be very interesting. If Ingram ve Ball performs well, we can see Lakers as contenders again.

Right now a super team like the Warriors is hard to match especially the talent they have right now.

The lakers may still take a very long time to rebuild before they can be taken as serious playoff contenders especially in the very competitive western conference. And I don't think lonzo would have that much effect in his initial year. The lakers may still be banking on the same people as last season like Clarkson and young.

I thought Iguodala would leave to Houston When they said that they made an offer I wasn't too worried because Morey is not the type to hamstring his flexibility with a long guaranteed contract to a vet. , but also thought Warriors were only going to pay him 8-10 mill per year. If they had stuck to that, he would have left. It being a 3 year might become a big negative for them, as Thompson and Green will be coming due, but at this point I think it was a fair deal for everyone, and something they needed to do.

Yeah there's a lot of happenings to NBA for the upcoming season. And I really didn't expect that Paul George is going to OKC he's going to be with the beast. I like the addition that was done by the Cavs. I read an update also from the Minnesota Timberwolves and they quite have something for it already.

If things work out well between Westbrook and Paul George, that could put the Thunder back in contention and be among the elite teams in the West once again. They might even overtake the Spurs or be at par with the Rockets this upcoming season. The West just seems to get more exciting as the more coveted free agents seem to favor playing there instead of playing for either Boston or Cleveland.

Things are looking good now for the west and hopefully the east teams can keep up.
