Remember how they also did this before when they acquired Malone and Payton, it's not new to Lakers as they always take chances, we ain't sure how AD will help the team and how they perform this coming season, lots of talks and everyone have it's own opinions regarding to this but only time can reveal who really gain the favor from this trade.
We cannot tell this year who will benefit in this trade, we shall know once the next season starts and we can evaluate their record. Right now, here we are again speculating on the Lakers, and I believe their odds to win the NBA championship next season will be a little favorite in betting sites.

I will take Patrick McCaw if I am their management. How about McGee though. For mw he is one of the fastest center who can pick up with fastbreaks. Perhaps Houston would want him for just 2.4M USD. He can be a substitute to Capela and also when some big men is injured. I cannot think of another team where he could fit. But still ai believe that guy can play like a champion. There was just too much Shaqtin a fool which takes him down. AD, LBJ and Kuzma. I dont think they are filled yet. They might take one more as a Rondo substitute.

Do not forget that when Celtics and nets made a trade for future picks in exchange of old stars the nets actually made a great improvement for one year but then they became very bad whereas Celtics became very good without even tanking because they had picks from nets that would give them good picks anyway. So, this could be the same, AD is a good player but Lebron doesn't have too much time left, he is what now 34-35?
He has maybe 3 more years and then he will retire so if they can't put a decent team together "next year" is not an option anymore. They need to become champions this year or at worst next year, after that their window of opportunity closes. Meanwhile pelicans will have zion + ingram + lonzo + whoever else plus 5 picks from Lakers to build around on top of their picks so they don't even have to tank to get better for the next 5 years.

Now that season has ended I am curious to see any progress on the LA Lakers situation. Last year it was pretty ba and I want to see if LeBron is going to solve the problems in the team and play a vital role in next season.

NBA will want Lebron and the Lakers to be successful next year because he brings in the high ratings. Expect most of their current roster t obe gone by the time next season starts. Lebron is still a top 5 player in the league and it is a major waste of talent for him to not be in the playoffs.

We shouldn't be surprised by the Lakers-AD trade though, I mean Lebron is the one that's been pushing this for a long time so it's just a matter of time before it will materialised. AD has been very vocal ever since the news came out.
It might be a big risk specially for Lakers but I think in the long run it will be worth. Yes, the West has evolved again, we don't know the status of Golden State or even Houston next year, but Lakers definitely will be a contender.
Risky move by the Lakers' front office. Lebron James is aging, he and AD can't win a championship though they may reach the playoff IMO. This block buster trade really in favor of the Pelicans with the number of young players they can bring to their roster. This news create a buzz in Hollywood and it's good for business but i doubt if they can hold that Larry O'Brien trophy in the near future. That's risky but they know better, they would not agree with the trade if they believe AD will not make the Lakers a championship team. Let's just watch next season, I do believe that was a wise move, although risky. Yes, just like I said, it's a calculated risk and Lakers front office are willing to take. Yes, LBJ is aging, but I think they're betting that in the next 2 years this combination with AD will bring rings to Lakers again. But AD is just one piece of the puzzle, they need to get at least one good player in the roster and a coach that can work out with LBJ. So for me, it's a risk that will pay good returns in about 2 years.

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/06/17/americas/toronto-raptors-parade-shooting/index.htmlTwo injured in shooting during Toronto Raptors' NBA celebration Two people are in custody after a shooting was reported Monday during the Toronto Raptors' NBA Championship celebration, Toronto Police said. Police said they located two victims with injuries that are "serious but not life threatening." Two firearms were also recovered and emergency responders are on the scene, police said. Too much celebration for Toronto? I don't know if this is the first time we heard such celebrations involving shooting in a NBA championship celebration. Anthony Davis joining Lebron James in Lakers, but the Lakers have depleted most of its core team. The two can't do it, they need more A side players to join the party plus B players who are willing to sacrifice and contribute day in day out.

Naida, they already made a move. Out of all the teams out there, they are the first to make such a wild move and didnt even flinch to tell it to the social media. (twitter) That is the Anthony Davis trade and they are already in good conditions about it. I am just not a Rondo fan though. They need an offensive guy on their team while Lebron is already on his era where he could not run and gun that quick anymore.

Rondo and AD played together before, so they already know each other, my worries here is if Lebron will act as point guard, he would destroy the chemistry.

Yes he played a good playoffs but I don't think he will build a good chemistry with AD or even Lebron.

They are desperate to win that's why it comes to blame game, both have different style so I don't side any players here, instead I would blame the coach for not having the play he design to be followed by all players. They would not win in one on one basketball, Paul was a consistent player but if Harden acts as PG that would minimize this touches, that's where frustrations come.

You are all correct about Rondo and AD playing well but can Rondo and Lebron still play 48 minutes? You will also consider that if you are the team manager. It is just the first team which they are focused. How can you win a game with that? Add up the possibility of an injury. They need a better second team too. They lost it upon the trade for AD. Those young players rotates better and they have a lot of chemistry.

They are two of the most overrated players in the NBA. Harden is Mr. No defense and Chris paul is an over the hill superstar that is nowhere near worth the amount of money the Houston Rockets are paying him.

The landscape of the West has change again with the arrival of AD to the Lakers. But there are also rumours that they are pursuing either Kemba and Butler for a formidable line up next season.
I've read that one too. I don't LBJ, AD, and Butler would click. It's looking like the OKC trio (melo, westbrook, PG) and we all know what happened to them. I would rather see Kemba on that Laker's line up next season. Deadly!

I think Chris Pauls contract will create a lot of trouble for rockets in the upcoming seasons, they already spent the past 2 years as the possible candidate to beat warriors (even though raptors did it before them) but now they have an aging Chris Paul on a super max contract plus players they can't afford so the fact that Harden is getting weary of this situation would make sense.
If I was harden and I just missed a chance to get a ring in the past 2 years I would want to have a better shot in the future as well whereas Chris Paul contract keeps that from happening and his decline is causing rockets to be worse every single year. With now AD trade I would say Lakers have a better shot this year with Durant and Klay out to be leaders of west then rockets have a shot.

They will still need their chemistry to grow. That may want to max his contract this summer if they really want a championship team. As of now, they dont have shooters. It will be a hard fought game if they just keep relying on inside plays. Yes it might work, that is if Lebron is still in his prime. But now, he might keep his distance and work like a Magic Johnson style which keeps on passing and maybe some outside shots which he aint that great. Danny Green might be their best choice for that $23m left in their salary cap. If they face Denver Nuggets they will be having a lot of problems.

Give it a try, James is excited with the new line up so it can be a boost for the team. Every change of roster, we always get to say that it won't click or the line up isn't too good enough to beat a specific team. Let's give them a chance and see on how they are able to make the team better.
