Blazers vs Nuggets - Lillard and company can't play well with the defense of the Nuggets, and they just route the Blazers at home, and too bad, Anthony went scoreless.
Nuggets now are very consistent as a team, they are very good at home and at the same time they can also win on the road. They'll be playing again on a back to back game, their next game is against the Utah Jazz which they beat at home, so this could be a big revenge for the Jazz looking at the line, however, I won't buy it, the way the Nuggets are performing, it's not a good idea to bet against them. Nuggets are +8 now, so it says Jazz are really desperate to have a win to break their 4 losing streak. That's interesting odd since Jazz is on the losing streak winning at home might be a good idea to assess this game though like what you have said with the way Nuggets is playing good defense there is also possibilities that this handicap can be covered. Might be much better to wait and bet inside live games and see how the players will perform.

I think the main reason why Rockets decided to make this deal was to go under luxury tax, now they are under the cap with 6 million dollars and have a second round pick to dish out later with some other picks they have.
This wasn't a trade that coach would have wanted, this wasn't a deal that even GM would have wanted, this is a trade that Owner wanted to happen because they are not making enough money to justify a luxury tax hit yet again so it was only viable for them to send Capela and be done with all of this. Hawks got a great deal out of the situation, I don't really see the other ones are getting anything all that worthy , its a decent one for them to shift things around and all that but honestly the real winner is definitely Hawks there for sure.

It honestly baffles me how hawks just gave one pick and got Capela, they seriously got away with a steal there. I understand the economics of the things going on there but honestly did Rockets really needed to get rid of Capela for that little to make a space? Couldn't they get something of value from Hawks? I am not saying get Trae Young for Capela, that wouldn't be possible but at the same time they could have asked more than just RoCo from a totally different team. Or maybe other teams could have asked more from Hawks either. Whatever happened that we don't know, Hawks just got a whole lot better, don't know if will show its face this year already (which I assume with time it may) but I am definitely sure they basically became a good playoff team for next year with just one trade.

Capela has a huge contract with the Rockets. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2774731-clint-capela-rockets-reportedly-agree-to-5-year-90m-contractClint Capela, Rockets Agree to Reported 5-Year, $90M Contract Well, they might be planning to get some new fresh players, in short they wanted to experiment something as they weren't doing great this season so far compared to the last two seasons. I can only imagine how capela would be very effective with the Hawks since Trae is a good point guard.

I guess they are only worsening their lineup with this experiment. P.J Tucker is way too undersized to be on the center position. Any team could easily dominate them from the paint. Capela was a good piece and additional strength from their defense. I don't know how the Rockets would engage Covington and Bell in their rotation. Rockets need bigmen, specially when Harden and WB is making a lot of fg attempts, they need someone to grab offensive rebounds. Anyway, too early to judge their lineup, let's just see the outcome.

Rockets will now play a small lineup. I don't see anything wrong but that was a gamble. We don't know what Rockets are thinking. To the point that they gave up Capela, as we all know how important this guy's role on the team, looks like Rockets are gambling here or maybe they are cooking "something" for the future. I agree that it's too early to tell if that move will be worst or not. Let's see how they will execute their offense and defense from now on without or minimizing the numbers on the paint.

Yeah they need a center who are good in grabbing offensive rebounds as both of them are not a consistent shooter, they just made a lot of attempts that's why they score much in the game. Maybe they just want harden and Westbrook to make all the scoring and will make the others ineffective of their position. Damn people are shocked with this news.... I have no idea what's gonna happen with them without Capela in the line up.

Yeah they need a center who are good in grabbing offensive rebounds as both of them are not a consistent shooter, they just made a lot of attempts that's why they score much in the game. They might need a center but there are other teams that don't rely on center but still doing great so far this season like Raptors, Pacers, Celtics. Rockets still have their Power Forward and they only need one on the court. And this is great. Looking at the stats, Rockets are great offensively even Capela is performing well or not. So I think his transfer to another team will not likely consider as Rocket's disadvantage. Maybe they just want harden and Westbrook to make all the scoring and will make the others ineffective of their position.
There is no team in the league who will think of that way.

It is known that Luka is one of the pillars of Dallas and that's why every time he's not on the watch, we used to think that they can easily be beaten.
I think of the opposite. I'm not one of those people who thinks Dallas Mavericks is a team that can easily beat without Luka Doncic. How come we can think of that way if, at some of their games, we can see that they are performing well even without Doncic on the floor. They can still give a close fight to whatever teams. And Porzingis is doing great while Luka is out. Might be a tricky to other gamblers in terms of odds distributions at some of their games as we can still see a ( - ) points given for Mavericks even Luka is out. I think the fact that he's a big factor now to the team, fans like me do think like that and it's okay now because they've proven to be a strong team even without the most beloved of their fans.

It looks like Rockets is really going for a small ball this time but I don't know how that will work for them with Harden on the ball most of the time. The clear winner for me is Atlanta for getting some reliable bigs but it's probably too late for them this season. Denver has a strong squad already and might have added more depth that will probably help them during playoffs.
Yeah, mostly the Rockets is losing on this deal but what's more interesting is who they'll get on the 2nd round pick. Though I think Bell and Covington are good reserve still the fact they gave up with Capela that can do both defensive and offensive on the court is still not nice move by Houston. Well, I am guessing Clint Capela was wanting more than what he can get with Houston. On the win-win situation I don't think Atlanta is winning right here because if you get the stats of Nene seems you can't because he's status was out. I don't know how long he's been out but given the fact he's ageing as well that will decline both his capabilities on the court, that's my opinion.

On Houston Rockets small line up (some dubs it as "dead line up"), send your prayers to PJ Tucker
In another transfer news, Miami Heat has acquired Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Justise Winslow. The guy has signed a 2 year, $30 million extension. He's been asking for this and causing some unrest in the Grizzlies young core. I hope he's happy now as he prepares for his retirement.

Imagine a 6'5 dude who used to play as a forward suddenly become a center. Tristan Thompson was even considered an undersized center in the NBA, and the guy is like 6'9. We will see a huge difference when the Rockets retain this starting line up and played against taller teams such as Bucks, Mavs, or the Lakers.

This is how Mike D'Antoni works. Speed and offense. I guess he just want to maximize that kind of strategy. I am still worried about the defense but it looks like they want head to head with offense. As long as they can shoot the ball for every possession then it wont be a problem. They score 2 he will score 3 using Harden or Westbrook. They will just wait until the other team makes an error. I want to see though how they will stop centers like Jokic with this kind of roster.

I don't think he can cover much of that painted area. But looking at their past roster there is not really much of a center. Tyson Chandler only, Capela in list is a forward. You can smell something is being cooked at the Houston side.

But the management are sure of it that's why they traded capela although his performance is really good within the team. Their current line up for sure would not take them in the West Finals, even the semis but they might be thinking of putting a replacement probably better than capela, that's the surprise we have to watch out for.

We will be able to see how the Rockets would play now, tomorrow they'll be playing against the Lakers on the road, so we can tell if they are really effective with their short center. Westbrook is still questionable but hopefully he will play and it seems like Davis are also the same status as Westbrook but it's nice to witness if all these players are available in this game, Lakers should dominate the paint area here.

Iguodala's manager/agent knows how to leverage his client's past achievements. He is also well rested now and his championship experience could help his new team come playoff time but I still think the Miami Heat is taking a huge gamble also here IMO. But hey, who knows if they can be able to knock off one of the East's favorites (Celtics, Bucks, 76ers, Toronto).

He is definitely a valuable piece for GSW back then.
