 Honestly when it comes down to dunking ability, everyone was great however one thing we are all forgetting that at one point NBA dunk contest became more like an entertainment and not just good dunks. Remember when Blake Griffin jumped over a car?? (ok hood of the car) remember all the nate robinson and Howard rival stuff? Sure howard brought out the cape this year and it was nice to have 24 there as well but that doesn't mean that this was entertainment at all, this was just bunch of amazing dunkers just jumping really high and dunking really well, there was no "extra" involved at all and that is literally whats missing from dunk contest for the past few years, someone has to make something really extra in order to make this a lot more fun again, otherwise its bunch of dunkers just dunking.

Aaron Gordon just dunked over a guy more than 7 feet tall, that is far better in Blake Griffin's dunk over a car's hood and Nate's dunk over Dwight Howard that is just 6'11. If that is not extra, I don't know what you still want, and I am still wondering how Aaron still lost the dunk contest. Come on, that jump is more than 47 points.

The same sentiments from all those fans who watched this dunking contest, those high up dunks from Aaron Gordon really brings entertainment
but the judges is not impress giving him only 47 and loses that match.
For entertaining part for sure there's no question with how he jumped that high but still didn't get the approvals of those judges.

I agree, it's not that easy to jump over Taco and it's frustrating to see him loss again.

And you can hear the basketball fans, they booed the judges for that blunder, Lmao. That should be 50 easy no doubt about it. Maybe they don't want Aaron Gordon to win or something, really bad judging.

After watching if I had a vote who should win I would have definitely gave it to Aaron Gordon, I do understand his frustration about the points he got and even Ja Morant basically said he won't join the contest because it was basically people giving more points to players who they like more instead of who deserved more.

In the end three point contest was more legit as always since there is no interpretation of any sorts and it all comes down to talent, same with skills challenge, they were both a lot better and honestly I wasn't shocked Buddy Hield won because that dude can shoot amazingly even in game so it was definitely expected.

Agreed aaron should have won again.  There will never be a way to take the judgement out of the dunk contest so it is what it is.  I'm still in awe over what these guys threw down, but yeah gordon should have one this one.  The judges wanted to end it in a tie but someone screwd up the points and gave him 47 instead of 48 lol.

Unfortunately even if we insist he does but we can't change the facts that there are judges who does not give it to him to win.

I am afraid that even if team Lebron would win, team Giannis would cover because this game is jut for entertainment, no bearing games and no defense so any team could make their own run to make this a close game. Seen this many times in the past.

Each of the first three quarters will be, in essence, a 12-minute mini-game. The team that “wins” the quarter will receive a “winning” donation to charity. And the score at the start of the second and third quarters will be reset to 0-0.

But wait! The scores of the first three quarters for each team will be added up and posted to start the fourth. The cumulative score of the team that’s ahead, plus 24 points (Kobe’s uniform number), will be the final target score. The first team to reach that number will win the game, and there will be no clock.

Oh and no commercials throughout the 4th quarter which is pretty nice imo.

As an added bonus, the entire fourth quarter will be played commercial-free for the folks watching at home.

Not really aware of the changes as I don't pay attention to it, but thanks for educating us before the game, I like the no advertisement part, getting ready for my IPTV as in our country, there are limited games for NBA, not sure this one is covered since I've been using IPTV for awhile.

I feel sad when we don't have live coverage on our local TV since it's so hassle to watch on Livestream since I can't watch it together with my friends since the screen is so small compare to our television but hopefully there are stations will offer free live coverage of the games in Philippines in future.

The competition between Gordon and Lavine on 2016 was a close one, and Lavine was really competitive all throughout the contest. So, imho Lavine deserves that win.
But, with this one yesterday, It was obviously a robbery after I tried to analyze the result. I don't find Jones' final dunk special, it wasn't fancy. Gordon's dunk was a 50. Now, DWade is harvesting all the hate from the fans after the result. Even the NBA players were surprised by the result.

Yeah, they reset the score at the 2nd and then the 3rd. A jumpball also for every reset.
Somehow I did understand it a little. Good thing they posted what the rule will be.
Team Lebron won the 1st at 53-41 then Team Giannis at 2nd 51-30 then equaled at 41 at the 3rd.
1st quarter is for Chicago scholars $100,000 Team Lebron.

They should repeat this, they really got serious in playing the game.

What a great display of competitiveness. They are all going at each other at the fourth.
It became more like a "street ball".
That raise to 11 when they tied at 146 is the main game.
They need to avoid fouls to also avoid freebie shots.

But the final shot came from a foul. I hope they just put it as a sideline foul but it is the penalty and the rule must be followed.
Could have been better if it was done with a little shotclock remaining. 

This is really fun. I bet they will repeat it after that nerve rocking game.

One of the best all star games I saw in my entire life, though Team Lebron is full packed with more better players in the League but Team Giannis came to play and they even lead the game, but in the end, we have guys who are more experience and knows how to take over the game, so it's a well deserved team Lebron win.
