The fact that you insert LeBron and any other players in the discussion as the reason for that to happen, this makes the whole Kobe-changed logo not making sense, unnecessary, baseless and pointless.

It's not just because of the performance nor achievements or even Kobe is the most talented player in the NBA that the logo should be changed after him.

Kobe's die-hard fans should understand that changing the logo is not as easy as 1,2,3 and shouldn't be push nor make it as a petition fan-based. Why this brought up in the first place? To honor Kobe? Good point above, how about Jordan? Magic? Chamberlain? The other greats that contribute to the legacy of the NBA?

Kobe will surely not be happy about this. As for him, there are other greats he respected that should be placed there first before him. Maybe someday he will be considered but not this time.

It's gonna be hard to make everyone on what Kobe fans are petitioning since everyone has their own best player in the NBA.
I'm not pushing, just sharing what the fans likes to happen and it was has never came into my mind about the "kobe-logo" until I read articles on it.
yes there are greats, better than him, but he died in a tragic incident, maybe that's the reason why he was so different and people pity him.

Even no one knows here the criteria of how the logo should be changed, that reason alone isn't making sense and shouldn't be a basis.

But as I also pointed out, "maybe someday Kobe will be considered". Kobe fans or not, no one will oppose that move.

Well, as I was saying, if that would happen then I would be happy too as a Kobe fan, whether it will happen soon or in the future.

I was saying that Kobe was comparably close to Jordan because of the article that says so.. actually it's coming form Jordan itself, so who are we to argue. Some of the article that would prove and that is my basis. (don't point this to logo change as we don't know the criteria).

I also like that kind of discussion with constructive opinions. Actually their discussion is interesting to read compared to other stuff or users that just passed by here. They will post that GSW will be a champion, I like Michael Jordan, I like Durant's feet, I want Kawhi's hands, Lebron needs superstars to become a champion, Zion is heavy and fat.

Can I get in? About changing the logo, the idea was raised a few days after Kobe's unfortunate tragedy but I have to agree that the NBA should maintain the current logo and don't changed it to honor Kobe. The All-Star trophy was named now after Kobe is already a big honor and we can see his name at this award every year. I think lots of honors will be made in the future to honor Bryant including building a statue for him.

I wasn't aware of this actually, I just heard it during the announcement of all star MVP but I was thinking it was only for that specific event, well, great job by the NBA organization.

I don't think that's necessary, I'm not confident sharing that kind of bets with others.

I might test it on my own and I'll assess what's going to be the result of that run and if I think that it's a shareable thing to the people here, I might do it without notice but for now, I don't think it's needed.

I am betting in sports as well, done this for years but like you I am also not yet confident sharing my picks, all I can give is just my opinion or thoughts on a game but I can't give assurance that my opinion is correct.

That would be a great tribute to Kobe that fans will never forget, KOBE as the new logo of the NBA would really nice.

Is it really necessary? Kobe really did shape the league, people are looking up to him, kids usually shouts "Kobe" as they hit a three with a trash can and a piece of paper but the NBA did a lot of tribute for him and I think that is enough. Kobe is one of the GOAT, to be honest, but he doesn't need to be the logo of the NBA and I think if we will be asking him that too that will be his answer. Kobe is a legend, and as music states it, "Legends never die"

Of course it will all start with the fans pushing for a change and they'll like to dedicate that to Kobe and if that would come in reality, they'll be happy including me as I am also a Kobe fan.

I will never forget Kobe. I hated that guy for a long time but when you are a player that just keeps you going.
You always want to better than him. The Jordan type.

Still, I do respect that guy and all I can say is, he is one of the top players of the league. No doubt about that.
He got the unique skills and that beautiful artistic move in mid-air which can never be forgotten. Almost moves like Jordan and he is one of the players with just a low arching shots which are difficult without long practice. Another is Kawhi.

 It turns out Drummond is already creating troubles in Cavs, he said that if the coach is back next season he will be out and he has a player option at the end of the season or maybe next season I don't remember so that kinda means dude will be gone probably. However even if they kick Bel out to keep drummond, they are not going to get any good with Drummond neither and neither Kevin Love nor Drummond could ever help them, no team would want to pay that much for those players neither as well.

 The ideal situation is this. A team has a 20+ million dollar salary player for another 3 years or maybe 2 or 4 who knows and they do not want that player on their team right? They want to get rid of him because there is still a lot of years on the contract left (remember mozgov situation) what Cavs can do is give them Drummond instead who will be free agent soon and the team may not resign Drummond, that way that team will have a player who has the same amount of salary but leaving very soon instead of a player with same salary who will be there for years. In return cavs could ask for second round picks or maybe even a late first round pick for that.

 They can do that for both Kevin Love and Drummond when the time is right, if they do that they can do the rebuilding properly.

I would say NBA completely doing something to honor Kobe is already done with the all-star MVP and that is enough but I think I see Lakers doing something major to honor Kobe right now. Like maybe not right away but maybe in the off-season or maybe even in the few years following that but I feel like there could be something done by the Lakers to honor him.

I don't even mean just a statue of him outside the staple center neither, that is given, even Shaq has one and even tho he is a great player and a Laker legend dude is still alive, so to honor Kobe they will have to do something major to overhaul whole team. I was thinking about changing the stadiums name but I realized it is shared with clippers and I guess some other stuff as well so maybe not that but something as major as changing the stadium name.

A statue in front of the Staples Center, I think is close to happening compared to the NBA logo or changing the stadium name. It's a great tribute. Shaq already has one.

Also mentioned by the above post, every year, we will now hear Kobe's name at the All-Star MVP trophy announcement. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time that the award was followed to an NBA player so that's already a big honor to Kobe as renaming it wasn't considered before.

That is the problem. They could just close out a game with a free throw, and I don't think that is something people would be looking for. The problem is that they can't just put "no foul will called in the last minute of the game" since that could be abused by some of the players. Maybe they could stick to something like the last points should be done with a field goal, a dunk, a three-point, a layup, a fadeaway anything that is not a free throw.

Irving is different, he was dealing with that shoulder injury ever since, especially when he was still playing with the Celtics and probably that was the reason why he wasn't sign by the Celtics and look at the Celtics now, they are more better without Irving.

Irving is different, he was dealing with that shoulder injury ever since, especially when he was still playing with the Celtics and probably that was the reason why he wasn't sign by the Celtics and look at the Celtics now, they are more better without Irving.

For once I am glad the knicks didnt sign them 2 actually.  I know durant in theory should come back and be a monster, but the dude blew out his Achilles, as tall as he is and the rigors of the nba he will prob be on and off again injured too.  A little too early to tell but nets might end up regretting this.

Indefinitely just means they dont have a timeline.  The nets season is a wash but I was even thinking in the years to come on their contracts.  It might be a case of where each of them end up playing 40 games a year with nagging injuries.  I hope not because I love watching durant play.

They are paying max contracts I dont think they paid those 2 just to trade them.  If they keep getting injured their trade value will be low because of their contracts and if they are playing well they wont want to trade them because that's why they signed them...to compete.  So trade value is not what they are looking for
