I like this to happen.....

NBA Trade Idea Sends $179M Denver Nuggets Star to Detroit Pistons

Quote
In a new hypothetical trade idea from Bleacher Report's Greg Swartz, Denver shakes up their starting lineup with a three-team deal including the Detroit Pistons and Brooklyn Nets. The hypothetical trade has a lot of moving pieces:

Denver Nuggets Receive: Cam Johnson and Ziaire Williams

Detroit Pistons Receive: Michael Porter Jr.

Brooklyn Nets Receive: Isaiah Stewart, Tim Hardaway Jr., 2025 second-round pick (via Toronto Raptors, and a 2027 second-round pick (via Detroit Pistons)

I guess MPJ not really a championship material although he already won a championship with the Nuggets. If the Nuggets could move him through trade, they could acquire more players that could play both the 3 point shooting and the defense. Cameron Johnson alone could already provide what MPJ can, so that other player is just an extra.

The trade scenario is somehow good since it will make Nuggets to breath on the huge contract they give to MPJ. But the question is do they able could gamble to risk their current situation to try those new guys then build up their team again? Maybe for now they would not accept that offer since MPJ is role is so vital on Nuggets rotation. Maybe in upcoming season they would think about it and monitor the stats to be provided by MPJ if Nuggets management will not be satisfied on their monitoring then maybe they might consider to accept such deal and get other more player that could possibly help their  team to win another championship again.

This trade idea they suggest is really good and for sure that Nuggets would benefit more here https://www.si.com/nba/nuggets/news/nba-trade-idea-sends-179m-denver-nuggets-star-to-detroit-pistons-01j546t3vz9q

Maybe. I think if that trade does happen, the Denver Nuggets would win this trade, as Cam Johnson is a sharpshooter and better compared to Michael Porter Jr. which makes it good trade in my opinion. Adding Zaire Williams would be too much IMO. Also, I think the Detroit Pistons would benefit from this trade as well. Man, I always watch Isaiah Stewart and the Piston and I don't even think he should be in the NBA. He's like Bronny James, where you have to wonder why this guy is in the NBA. lol

As a Chicago Bulls fan I started to completely boycott the Bulls about midway through the season (outside of reading box scores a few times or reading about what was going on with the team trade wise and what not) due to the fact that their owner Jerry R doesn't give to flying butt fcks about the team since they have been the number one in ticket sales for the past three years, which is CRAZY.  That being said, the olympics really was awesome as I could finally watch basketball and not be all pissed off.  What a ride it was!

Really hoping that the Bulls start to give a shit!

There's really no good movement yet. They added more players in exchange for DeRozan but it didn't actually make the team better. I am actually shocked that it's DeRozan that they traded instead of someone else. Like the face of the Bulls now. Cheesy
Here is the sadder part of the Bulls' status. There are no rumors about any trades, sign-ins, or whatever. I guess they are sticking with what they have now and they will probably be aggressive when the season starts until the trade deadline.
I think we will just have to be patient about their next movements but I doubt it will be big since most superstars are now signed with other teams.

Tyrese Haliburton posted some pictures his Mom sent him on X and LeBron commented. Pretty awesome. The idea a kid can grow up idolizing someone in his favorite sport and then not only grow up to play basketball professionally but be a teammate to your idol alongside winning a gold medal for your country is an awesome one.

And I initially thought that Zach LaVine might be traded by the Bulls. Because I'm seeing him as not happy with his roles plus he was also injured. But DeRozan has left already as their tandem didn't work well.

It's worth noting that LaVine has a big contract with the Bulls that will expire after the 26-27th season. So, I think if LaVine's goal is to make more money, he'll probably stay with the Bulls until his contract expires. However, if he wants to try to compete for the title, he should obviously think about a trade with a more competitive team.

Michael Porter Jr is extremely underrated. If it wasn’t for injuries he’d probably be a top 5 player in the league. The combination of him and Aaron Gordon on the wings is what makes the Nuggets a special team. If you take one of them away, the Nuggets are done as contenders. That’s what I think. No way is trading either Porter or Gordon a good idea.
I agree.

MPJ is actually a good part of the Nuggets and just remember on how they've taken the last season. They always had it and MPJ helped the team through their journey.

I think if there are superstars and starting players for each team, he's part of it. But if that's what the Denver Nuggets team think and mostly the coaching staff that they have to let go of him, they're going to have another adjustment with Jokic and Gordon.

Yeah, I would say that he is underrated, and prior to his injury, he has a good shooting form and so his percentage is high. But suddenly we see him struggle and we don't know what happen to him until he official says that he had a injury and if I'm not mistaken it was his back that really affected his form.

But I think the Nuggets is still one of the contender, their core is still intact, they might have to adjust. They still one of the best duo in Jokic and Murray (behind Brown and Tatum). So still very competitive Western Conference with them as one of the favorites.

Yes, but there were news as early as January that he wanted to be traded and he is not that happy with the Bulls. Not sure where it came from, but it might have steamed from the frustrations that after rebuilding they are still a so-so team in the East.

Quote
The Chicago Bulls desperately want to trade Zach LaVine. Despite how successful LaVine's tenure as a Bulls has been, Chicago can't seem to find any offers due to his massive $138 million contract and recent injury.

He might have a massive contract, but if teams are really interested on his service, maybe they can offer a good 3 team deal with other perks like future draft picks just to get him. We also see him being injured in the second half of the season and probably this is another "issue" that potential teams might have to look at how viable Lavine will be in the next couple of years.

I agree with you, they might give MPJ enough time to perform before they will push for this trade, I think he's part of the core and with him, Jokic, Jamal and Gordon already familiar with the ball rotations, he can deliver when there's a chance taking  a shot which gives Jokic and Jamal another options, and also, the chemistries are somewhat needs to develop again if they will change their core unlike with these four stars they can communicat well and they already with playing alongside with each other for a certain period of time.

They've got a title together, though we really don't know how this trade idea will materialize or if all the teams that involves are willing to take chances to work with their new possible players.

Doesn't look good though for Nuggets if they allow MPJ to be traded as for sure others see him as part of their core. So it's going to be a big risk on their end if they let go of him. They've already lost KCP and so they don't want another team member like MPJ as well.

I would say that his injuries might have slow him down, but the Nuggets are done last year, there were interview of KCP telling that the whole team is tired and they should have lost the series against the Lakers. But I think they will comeback strong next season and try to be a repeat champions.

I don't like it either. Building chemistry is a difficult thing in the NBA and Murray, MPJ, and Jokic had been doing great. They don't really need to trade those three. What they need is some good roleplayers and decent bench players so that they can keep up even if Murray and Jokic are benched to rest.

They already won a championship with a healthy trio and Gordon is part of that which had been phenomenal on his inside defense and offense. But it's always as soon as Jokic goes out, the problem does surface because they are all leaning to his production in both points and assists.
They need a good forward or a center because they have shooters. Or maybe someone who will focus on defense just like what KCP had been doing.

That will definitely be something that will take a bit more than a year, we are not going to see them do that well right away. There is a joke about how Bulls signed a contract with the devil to get the 90's and now they are paying their debt with all of this. Since the whole Derrick Rose knee injury, they haven't been good for a long time and whenever they get anyone they end up being injured and go.

Last time they were great, they had a great Lavine, Lonzo and also Derozan, they looked amazing with that team and then of course everything went south. I hope that they will figure out how to rebuild the team without hurting it too much, we have to really realize that we can't really make it change all that much in a single summer, but in a few summers they can be good.

At this point, I would say eat up bad contracts from other teams and get picks, that way they can have some bad players during rebuilding and they will gain picks and when those bad contracts ends, they will have picks and rebuild properly.

They already tested those guys and what they need is more solid players around them.

If Nuggets could find reliable guys which is playing to adapt on the role given by the management then provably that they can facilitate well and might have best result next season.

They need to add more players which could help them on rebounding also defense and if they could able to get a player like that provably Nuggets will became more stronger next season. Although we can say that their current roster still a solid one but still they need a good help to get more advantage on their opponents.

Did I miss something, where did Denver put MPJ on the trade block?  The only reason they would at this point would be due to some salary cap issues they have in the near future.  No way they try breaking this down while jokic is in his prime, same with Murray.  There is such a small window in this league you have to push for a couple years while ypu have the players to do it.  Is there an article link to this?

They need to add more players which could help them on rebounding also defense and if they could able to get a player like that provably Nuggets will became more stronger next season. Although we can say that their current roster still a solid one but still they need a good help to get more advantage on their opponents.

Did I miss something, where did Denver put MPJ on the trade block?  The only reason they would at this point would be due to some salary cap issues they have in the near future.  No way they try breaking this down while jokic is in his prime, same with Murray.  There is such a small window in this league you have to push for a couple years while ypu have the players to do it.  Is there an article link to this?

I don’t think Denver would consider trading Michael Porter Jr. Like I said before, he’s a huge piece of their team and a big part of the reason why they’ve had so much success. His injury led to them getting Gordon and when he recovered they were a beast of a team at the wings. As far as I know, this is being discussed because of a trade idea in the media, not any actual interest from Denver.

I don't like it either. Building chemistry is a difficult thing in the NBA and Murray, MPJ, and Jokic had been doing great. They don't really need to trade those three. What they need is some good roleplayers and decent bench players so that they can keep up even if Murray and Jokic are benched to rest.

Since Jokic is one of the best players in the league, it's obvious the Nuggets won't trade him, and he'll probably be in a Nuggets uniform for the rest of his career. What can't be said about Murray and MPJ.
Overall, I agree with you that the Nuggets should improve the roster, but they should do it in a way that doesn't disrupt the current team chemistry.

As long as Murray and Jokic, who are the heart and soul of the team, are there, I think they'll be able to build a great team. Actually, the Nuggets weren't a championship team before the arrival of Gordon, so I'm fine with seeing MPJ go as long as the big three (Jokic, Murray, and Gordon) remain intact. A team needs to improve because they fell short last season, and with a healthy Jokic, they need to make some changes to be more than ready for next season. As for the decisions of the management or the coach, we should leave that to them, as they know better than us.

Yeah, Denver Nuggets is still one of the contenders in the league. I just can remember them from being non contender and being ignored in the league but when they have won their first chip, until now they're still considered to be one of the best as long as Murray, Gordon, and Jokic are there.

And getting some help from the likes of MPJ.

I wish MPJ recovery.
