Agree to that, what he shows up during Olympics gives him that chance to get that contract outside NBA, it's better to take that instead of keep sitting down and watch the game, I mean aside from the money there's no reason to stay if he's not going to get that minutes and give him that chance to showcase his talents.
Yup, it's all about getting playing time. I'm sure that players like him want to earn good money but aside from that, the love for the game and actually play. I wish him luck playing in Greece and this is what happens to most of the NBA players that will get out of the league, they won't just be out without having some nice contracts in offshore leagues.

As long as they still wanted to play, they can still showcase their talents outside NBA, though not a big or widely covers like NBA but still they've got the chance to continue playing the game, and if they will perform well there's still opportunities that might be open up if another team will call them back playing for any NBA franchise.

Let see if what will be his fate after this contract expires, still a good chance to continue playing and show his love for this sport.

Steph Curry said something just recently.
Stephen Curry says being an NBA owner someday ‘definitely on the table’
https://www.nbcsports.com/nba/news/stephen-curry-says-being-an-nba-owner-someday-definitely-on-the-table

Quote
Michael Jordan set the bar for NBA players jumping to ownership when he purchased the Charlotte Hornets. Grant Hill (Hawks), Shaquille O’Neal (Kings), Dwyane Wade (Jazz) and Magic Johnson (Lakers) have had roles as minority NBA owners. LeBron James has made it clear he wants to be part of the ownership group if (more accurately, when) a Las Vegas NBA expansion franchise is announced.

Stephen Curry wants to join the club, he said on CNBC’s “Squawk on the Street.”

Why not? I think he has the money to be a co-owner of one franchise.
He still has a big deal with the Warriors and that will add up to his savings which will probably make him a majority owner of one team. This is just a big proof of how much he loves the sport.
There are players who just want to take their rest or some end up as sports analysts on different sports channels. Being an owner will be different because next to it will be criticisms from those basketball analysts and we have seen how many times Jordan's name comes out of the news while the Hornets are always deep in the standings.

Given how much Curry has earned during his career in the NBA and for various advertising contracts, then yes, he may become a co-owner of one of the teams by buying a small share. As far as I know now, the average team in the NBA is estimated at $3,8 billion, and the most expensive team is the Warriors, which are estimated at 7,7 billion.

He's earning a lot of money in his career and provably that said plan most provably gonna happen. Dwayne Wade is minority owner of Utah Jazz and I guess this action they made has been set as example for other big earners to do the same since NBA is a big business and provably that they can earn a lot of money if they put money on certain team they like to buy some shares.

Lebron is also looking to own a NBA franchise before on Vegas https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamzagoria/2023/12/11/lebron-james-looks-like-a-man-preparing-to-own-an-nba-franchise-in-las-vegas/ and I guess they are just waiting for possible expansion so if they allow to make it happen. But maybe there's change of plans if there's certain opportunity that open on other team. But let see the update regarding on this matter.

Michael Jordan set up the bar very high and only few NBA players can really afford a team or at least be a majority stake holder for any sports team for that matter. But with the huge salaries that the NBA players are getting, like Steph and Lebron and KD getting into the $500 million mark + their endorsements and others income outside of the NBA, they can really be a minority or majority stock holders of any NBA team right now.

And just imagine though if this 3 started to combine their money and then have a new NBA team in town, it could be great for the association itself. A new expansion team with the majority is former NBA players.

In other news, Giannis Antetokounmpo And Mariah Riddlesprigger Say 'I Do'!.

Dallas did made a great trio and usually when three stars get together that makes the whole league easier for them. One of the main reasons is that you can do fine during regular season with just two stars, that means you can rotate your stars and rest them and lower the injury risk during playoffs by not putting too much emphasis on their body.

Secondly, usually with three stars, other teams can't double team anyone at all, you are going to have a risk if you double team anyone, and all three are good passers as well so it will not be a hard thing for them to find whoever is open. I feel like Dallas may actually get a good result and get the title this season. This all depends on how their chemistry works together as a team of course.

Just because team has three NBA All-Stars doesn't mean they’ll automatically win. Talent helps but things like team chemistry, good coaching and avoiding injuries are just real important. Sometimes teams with lot of star players struggle because they can’t find the right chemistry. Winning takes more than just having good players; the whole team needs to work well together. Remember Kobe, Nash, Gasol and Howard? And the recent big 3 KD, Booker and Beal. Look what happened?

Imagine retiring ringless and not being a part of the greatest team ever over a Jersey number.

There have been some come backs but it happened only to few players. But the majority that have decided to step away from the NBA and chose to play for the other teams and leagues, that seem to be their lives already. They won't have that problem getting from another team that desired to have a player that played for the NBA even if the age of theirs might be considered old.

That's why those young ones that have decided to step away and chose to play for their home countries like Watanabe surely want to get that playing time and just as Evan had done, may or may not a home country but it's all about getting the ball and playing it with their respective time that they've been paid for.

Maybe you haven't seen this yet everybody. Some courts in our country have made a mural of Kyrie Irving.
It was great piece of art and there are a lot of courts here even in the streets. This is the kind of appreciation that my fellow countrymen gave to their idols like Kyrie. Kyrie has acknowledged this and looking forward to visit the place next year. IIRC, I've also seen a personal rooftop that has made a mural of him too but I forgot the artist.

I've seen this one on the news and the artist who did it is Maya Carandang. I have no idea about the rooftop though and I have not seen that yet.
I've seen a guy did it and posted it on his socials, I can't just remember still the name of the guy but I think it was on FB posted.

Steph Curry said something just recently.

These great players really have to reinvest their money and continue their legacy by being owners or part owners of the NBA teams that they want to purchase. It's business and passion and they know all about that when they've seen the results from Michael Jordan. Although he's still got a long run for his career, he's sure preparing for that chapter of his life.

You can also point to the famous Heatles team that had 3 all stars and the GOAT, yet still managed to get taken down by an aging and sick Dirk Nowitzki. Interestingly, I learned that the reason Mario Chalmers was the point guard for this team instead of Chris Paul was because Wade wouldn’t give up #3 and Paul refused to wear a different number. Imagine retiring ringless and not being a part of the greatest team ever over a Jersey number.

Wow, never heard about that story, haha. But I must say I am glad they never got CP3, would have been yet another player I deeply dislike joining the Heat at that time.
Also, this would have made that magical Mavericks ring much more difficult obviously. And as I am German and Dirk was always my favorite player this might have spoiled one of the most satisfying experiences of me watching sports ever.

Dirk worked hard to reach that level, and he won the championship because the Mavericks were also loaded with talent. The Heat at that time were just overrated due to their dominance, especially with LeBron and Wade playing together. They had a big three, which probably influenced other teams to start forming their own superteams.

Dirk retired with a sense of fulfillment, having won a championship without joining a powerhouse team. Instead, the Mavericks slowly built a strong team until they achieved success. As for CP3, his ego might have played a role in him being ringless, and now that he's declining, retirement may not be far off for him.

He may not be in the discussion of the best players in NBA history, but being a non-American and winning a championship with his team is already a big success for him. Now, it's time for Luka to bring that success as Dirk continues to inspire the Dallas management and its roster. CP3 has just been unlucky. He had his chance when they faced the Bucks in the NBA Finals, but they fell short. After that, his struggles continued, including his last season with the Warriors, where he wasn't so healthy.

I still do not like Wolves with their two towers system. I get that they are happy with it and did alright so far, but Gobert and KAT together never feels like it's a big deal to me, it always felt like it was something that looked a bit shaky and with the small ball world in the basketball era we are in, we are talking about going against the tide.

Sure they are both great players, and yes KAT is not tough enough to be a centre so getting Gobert there was great, but I would trade KAT and get someone else if I was their FO. I know KAT has been there for a long time and fans love him, but they need someone better there, someone that fits better at least and not just better in individual talent. Edwards is amazing, I am sure he will bring them to playoffs again this season.

Why change it though when it is effective last season? They've almost made it to the finals if not for the lack of experience and it shows that KAT and Gobert was a good tandem under the rim, Gobert protecting the rim and then KAT powers himself and then his outside shooting?

So not defending them, but as the saying goes, don't fix thing that is not broken. They will have another run this season with that combination, and with ANT improving again, they could be and as per betting, they are one of the favorites in the West to be on top, if I'm not mistaken.

I agree, CP3 and James Harden had a great run with the Rockets, and if it weren’t for CP3’s injury, they might have advanced to the NBA Finals. That was when CP3 was still highly regarded, and he definitely elevated the Rockets' performance.

Harden, during that time, was exceptional at drawing fouls, but as the rules changed, his effectiveness dropped. Now, as both are past their primes, it seems like CP3’s best option is to join a championship-caliber team. Even if he won't play big minutes, it would still increase his chances of finally winning a ring.

The fact that Paul signed a one-season contract with the Spurs this offseason indicates that he has probably decided to give up trying to get at least one ring. Obviously, he won't be able to do that with Spurs in the upcoming season. Besides, he will be 40 years old next year, so I wouldn't rule out that the upcoming season could be the last of his career.

Indubitably, he already made a shot with Warriors and Suns but failed to achieve it because he always choke on the crucial matches. He has a lot of chance to get a ring in his prime but I doubt he can get it anymore without joining on super team that can win a champ without his major contributions such as Nuggets or Boston.

Although he can provide a good contribution to Spurs since Wemby can finally have a teammates that will keep passing him the ball. Spurs young players play on their own just to get the spotlight. Paul addition to their roster will give more support focus to Wemby which Pop will probably capitalize.

Ouch!

Yes, I can still remember that game when Dirk was eating them alive with his high-percentage shooting and the free throws. I mean, Bosh was there and his height can definitely defend the big man of the Mavericks but still, they made the impossible and won that ring against a superstar-filled team of the Miami Heat.
One of the most unforgettable championships for me and it was so sweet because Dirk was old and I don't think that many NBA fans expected that to happen.

Speaking of big man, here's something.
Shaquille O'Neal calls Rudy Gobert the worst NBA player of all time, explains why Ben Simmons is 'another bum'
https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/shaquille-oneal-calls-rudy-gobert-the-worst-nba-player-of-all-time-explains-why-ben-simmons-is-another-bum/

Quote
During an interview with Complex, O'Neal was asked who the worst NBA player of all time is, and he didn't mince words about Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert.

O'Neal also sure to get in a jab on Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons as he called Simmons "another bum."

"I'm going to tell you why. Because if you sign a contract for ($250 million), show me 250," O'Neal said. "There's a reason why I walk funny, why I can't turn my neck and why I can't do it because I played for my ($120 million). So you got guys like (Simmons) that f--k the system over and they're making all this money and they can't f---ing play. So I don't respect guys like that.

"Every time I make these comments, people think I'm hating, but these are facts. You got teachers, you got firemen, you got doctors who have real jobs and don't get paid shit."
I like the honesty of the big man but what he is saying is the truth and I agree with it. Some players are being paid way too much and they are not showing why they deserve those contracts.

^ Shaq hates on every center. Him being a bully is the worst part of his persona. I still love him, but his opinions on other big men are garbage. Rudy Gobert does suck though. lol

Skip Bayless and Lil Wayne launching some sort of podcast or show should be interesting. I wonder how long that will last if it ever makes it to production.

As for the case of CP3, not the first time, we have seen a lot of great players not winning a ring, like Charles Barkley and yet they are still in the discussion as great players. Perhaps the closest that CP3 could have won is with the Rockets, but he got injured and so they lost that series against the Warriors and then the Dubs winning that champion that year. They still have a chance next year, but it was a disaster for them.

Yeah he had his shots and anyone that signs a deal with Spurs for a year is for one of 2 things, one to get a lot of playing time.  I'm sure he doesn't want to ride bench on a good team.  Or two and this is what I thought, he will get traded to a competing team during the year.  Expiring contract and vet presence is a nice piece for a contender or a team who lost a guard or 2 to injuries.
