I figured based on who was and wasn't playing in the chicago bulls games that they would end up losing it.  I tune in sometime in the third quarter with a shock that the Chicago Bulls were actually up on the the Hawks by like 20 some points.  I turn back some time later and realize they had lost to the Hawks who had scored 140+ points.  Yet "fans" still keep showing up to games as if they do, something will change, though it's just the opposite.

I remember when Butler forced a trade out of Wolves, and I can see he is not doing anything like that at Miami so far, which means that maybe it's all just a rumour and not the reality. I mean it's fine that we could see something different, there is no doubt that we would not see something major here, but at the same time we are talking about a period where Butler "really" wanted out and we have a proof how that looks, so we can safely assume that a trade is not on the table.

I already knew Miami wasn't interested in trading him, Pat Riley made that clear too but it wasn't even needed, when they are doing decent enough why would they want to trade him and start rebuilding, they could add in a few players and contend for the title.

The Sacramento Kings fired head coach Mike Brown, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday.

Sacramento is currently on a five-game losing streak and has lost 12 of its last 17 games. At 13–18, the Kings are last in the Pacific Division and ranked 12th in the Western Conference.

Assistant coach Doug Christie will be named the interim coach, according to multiple reports. The team resumes its season on Saturday versus the Los Angeles Lakers.

Just finished reading about this news and I was definitely devastated by what the Sacramento Kings did to Coach Mike Brown. This is not nice. He changed the way the Kings play and I think adding DeRozan in the picture changed everything and I don't think that's Coach Brown's fault. It's not like DeRozan is a wingman, he's a volume shooter which will change the plays that the coach wrote.

Mike Browns coaching record in the NBA is 454 wins with 304 losses, nearly 60% win rate. I think he will likely land another head coach job if he really wants 1. I think the Kings felt like they should have had a much better start to this season with the roster they have, but just having decent players doesn't guarantee success.

Man was I wrong about today’s games. The only win I got right was the Minnesota Timberwolves beating the Houston Rockets and they only won by one point at the buzzer. I guess today wasn’t my day for making predictions. Still a good day for NBA basketball though and there’s always tomorrow.

A good game tonight as the Dallas Mavericks face off against the Phoenix Suns. The Devon Booker and Luka Doncic rivalry is one of my favorites in the NBA at the moment. They genuinely hate each other and it shows every time they play. Booker has been getting the best of Luka since getting Durant on his side, but Luka always does the Suns dirty.

Even without Luka and Booker, the game was still highly entertaining. It got intense with three players, Marshall, Washington, and Nurkic of the Suns getting ejected. The game turned physical, and Nurkic lost his cool, slapping Marshall, who responded with a punch. What I don’t get is why Washington was also ejected. From what I saw, he didn’t throw any punches; he seemed to be trying to break up the fight. That decision feels a bit questionable.

The game was really a battle of defense, although there were moments of offensive being better during some stretch of the game, and it was from both sides. The game really could have went either ways, and either team would be a deserving winner, Timberwolves were the first to make their mark on the game, I remember them building a double digits lead first towards the end of the first half, I missed the entire third half btw, but when I saw Rockets with a 15 points lead in the 4th, I didn't think there was any way back for the Wolves because of tough the Rockets defense can be even though they were missing some really important guys in Brooks and Tari Eason.

It was just like two seasons ago that there are a lot of promises on the Kings specially on how they put up wins during that time. And we even thought that they will be one of the best team in the West with Fox and their coach Mike Brown who bring a lot in the table as he is a former assistant coach of the Golden State Warriors.

So he had experience and it did shows during his first year with the Kings. But it seems they were not able to follow up from that momentum and so last year was also a disappointing season for them. And now starting with getting DeMar DeRozan but it's not enough as they are in losing skid and so the first one to get the blame is obviously the coach.

From being the coach of the year when he coached the Kings and reached the playoffs after a long time, to now getting fired just because the team isn't playing that well this season. A 13-18 record isn't that bad at all, but maybe the fact that they're in a competitive conference in Western Conference is a factor of this firing. I also saw Coach Malone's statement with regards to what happened, and he wasn't surprised at all since they've experienced the same thing when he's the coach of the Kings back then.

With Doug Christie as their new coach, I'm just hoping that the team will just be better now that they have a new coach. As for Mike Brown, it's just a bit disappointing that they fired him just because of that 5-game losing streak... or maybe there's a reason that we don't know. At one interview, he called out Fox and said that he needs to step up if they want to get more wins. Maybe this is another reason?

The question now is, "What's next for Mike Brown?" Will there be any team that will get him maybe not this year, but next year? I believe he proved himself already as a great head coach, so I firmly believe that there will be a team that will get him in the future.

Watch again the replay, Washington is the one who push hard Nurkic that’s why it went away sliding after he was punch by Marshall. Washington just low key push and act like nothing happened standing in the middle that’s why you didn’t notice him.

I think he can still go back and work as a assistant to full fledge coach again. It's just the nature of the job for the coach, but I do agree that it was not fair for the Kings management to just let go of him after a bad start. And there are some finger pointing to Vivek, as owner he seems to me having a lot of bad decisions and this is one of team.

And this is now common to the NBA in the last 5 years. Adrian Griffin after a 30-13 was fired by the Bucks management, Monty Williams was the same victim, when he was after new owner Mat Ishbia takes over. And then he was also dismissed after one season in Detroit.

Why you talking about Luka and Booker when 3 suspended for roles in Suns-Mavericks altercation.

Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall has been suspended four games without pay and Phoenix Suns center Jusuf Nurkić has been suspended three games without pay for their involvement in an on-court altercation, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

In addition, Mavericks forward P.J. Washington has been suspended one game without pay for escalating the on-court altercation.

The incident, which occurred with 9:02 remaining in the third quarter of the Mavericks’ 98-89 win over the Suns at Footprint Center on December 27, began after Nurkić committed an offensive foul. Marshall and Nurkić then engaged in an on-court altercation.

There's rivalry on both teams and it had been happening since Luka came in Dallas Mavericks confronting Booker of the Suns. For me, I really like watching those two plays because you have the expectation that something will happen every time they meet. Sure, it does add to the competitiveness of both teams but I think everything really started with the names I mentioned above.

The Mavs lost against the Portland Trail Blazers which is surprising. They might not have their star Luka but they have roleplayers who play well and of course Kyrie Irving. Klay Thompson made a bad mistake in the final seconds of the game while they were trying to get close to the Blazers' lead and that ended it. Dinwiddie's three gave me hope but it's not enough.

It’s fine as long as they maintain professionalism since this is just a sport. They don’t need to be too friendly with each other, but they should stick to the rules and play clean.

The Suns losing a big man was a huge blow, and it showed, and while the Mavs were already dominating with a big lead because their outside shots were falling. That’s why the Suns spent most of the game just trying to catch up.
