How to stay away from gambling? suggestions ?

If you are gambling online you can ask operator to limit your access.

That's weird...Might work as well, but I think it won't be effective to limit your access only to a gambling site by blocking, mostly you will cheat yourself, try other gambling site and be addicted on it again, your problem might go double with that way,, better abstain from gambling..it will be hard at first, but as days go by, you'll get used to it without visiting a gambling site and probably that way you will find your self a new diversion..

I think you should go away at least from your pc for a while.
You should stop visiting the websites which you learned or gambled before .
 Dont think anymore about gambling and you can do something different to avoid gamble or go to sleep if you are considering gambling

The sad thing is that when you try to tell them not to think about gambling, they will think about it more cause it is their habit to keep getting themselves involve in gambling. So if you keep thinking of gambling, i dont think you can even go to sleep cause your mind will be wide awake.

I guess that thing you said is already become their habit is really bad already. Usual addicted gambler will never go to that phase because there will be no cure if you already make gambling as your habit. That phase will sacrifice everything just to satisfy their lust for gambling no exception

think you should stop being addicted on that its not too late, theres many way to stay away on gambling.. focus your self to your job or any other sports you want to play.

I agree that I am addicted to gamble but still I can control myself not to lose everything just in one bet or even greedy. If I can at least control myself in gambling I dont think I need some distraction to just to distract my mind from gambling. I am thinking about gambling but I dont go there, it happened a couple of times

Exactly, they will never do that and if you want to stay away from gambling then you should not gamble at all just throw that concept out from your mind.

just try to deposit as much as you can afford to lose. you don't need to put all your money in the casino and bet small. by restricting the amount you deposit in the first place you automatically restrict yourself to lose a certain "affordable" amount.

There are many things that you can do to stop with gambling, but you must have the discipline to stay away from gambling and that is the most important thing.
We all can tell you that you must stay away from gambling but you have to do it all by yourself, just find some things that you like to do without gambling.

Honestly, as a first hand opinion, the only way is to force your willpower into stopping gambling. Because if you put a restriction like a lockout or something, you will feel victimized even though you know it's the right thing to do. When you're lockout expires or you find a loophole or something, you won't have the willpower to stay again or reinstate the lockout.

These games are very addictive and once start playing very difficult to control so if possible just find some other good activities for fun and entertainment. If not, you should have a good self control to avoid big loses in gambling. Just gambling once in a while with fixed little amount should be fine and whether lose or win shouldn't gamble every day.

Is that lockout possible? I think that is not necessarily needed but honestly will power is much more like a self control to yourself if ever you are really addicted with gambling and I think you need self awareness too that you will need help if the addiction really tries to burden you.

It will always depend on yourself, if you can control yourself so you will not be addicted. Although you bet only small amount, but if you are addicted so you may lose big amount in total. Just do it for fun with the money that you can afford to lose and once you lose dont try to recover it.

i am getting addicted to gambling.And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much.

addicted to gambling is suck for some people,because they more often loss than make good profit,i just stay away from gambling,i'm not addicted,because i'm playing not everyday. maybe the only way to stay away from gambling is make your wallet empty

People will stop gambling if they are losing to much money with it, and you have to realize it by themselves that gambling is really bad to do and that you will become poor.
If they know that than there will a higher chance that they will also stop with gambling because it is a big mistake that they made.

Yup! your right but maybe they are already addicted to it that they can't stop playing gambling and I think it is too much for them to stop they will need a psychiatrist to remind them of their addiction.

To stay away from gambling you have to be smart and realistic, there are a lot of people that is addicted to gambling and that can be good but also bad.
Gambling is not that bad that you have to stop with it, you just must only play not that much.
