Is staying away too difficult to do? Just stay away. That's it.
If you are too addicted and you feel like you can't stay away, bet all your money for good. If you won, bet it again. Then when you lose, you're gonna stop betting for sure.  Grin

that's a pretty straight forward way to do it and you have a very good point since you won't have any capital for betting anymore. but there are some people who, even if they have nothing, would loan or borrow money or even sell property just to keep their gambling activities active. it's really very difficult to stay away and you may need all the help you can get or if you're just starting to gamble, try to implement strict rules for yourself

but for me it is not difficult to stay away from gambling as we need to join other sources of entertainment if we do not need the source of entertainment from gambling and we need to earn money from any other source rather than gambling.

Yeah I did that before because I'm a certified sports bettor way back years ago. But I used to manage that properly and I am able to stay away from it. What I did is just I used to have the willingness to completely stay away from it and instead with gambling my money I just spend it for eating from delicious restaurants.
this idea might interest most of us here diverting our addiction into much better ways just like you said instead of gamble the money why not
use it and spare time for your self enjoy yor life in my better ways.

That is correct. We better use our hard earned money to better things in life and just spend a little portion of that if we need to play or gamble for fun. If it ain't fun anymore, better stop and do other things than chasing your losses. Life is wonderful and big, we need to explore things in life outside our 4 wall comfort zone.

Definitely! Life is not all about work and gambling. It is about experiencing life and exploring the world. There are so much thing to do in a day that most of us think that it is a boring day and nothing to do. Go out, go to neighboring town or cities. When it rain outside, go out and enjoy the rain. Life is wonderful, live it!

That's true that is why we are working hard here so we can retire early, I wish I can achieve financial freedom at an early stage so I would just enjoy the rest of my life and will not think anymore of working hard, I believe only investment can give me that.

My advice is to get other hobbies, you also need to stop doing gambling daily. You must do it slowly, a smooth transition from addiction to non addiction, if you stop gambling out of a sudden you will enter in relapse mode and you do gamble over and over again.

In short, just take it slow. I really agree that you need to have some alternative things to do like new hobbies - it is like a glass of water, in order for new water to enter it, it needs to have emptied. Therefore, in gambling addiction, you will not get over it when you are not looking for diversions or other activities.

You got it on point dude. Stopping immediately will most likely leave you with withdrawals and the urge would be much stronger. So aside from doing thinga that would take up your attention, i think a slow gradual process would be a more efficient way

Could not agree more mate. slow and steady wins the race without much traction involve. It is like smoking addiction, it is advised to quit slowly than abruptly so that your body will get to adjust to it. In gambling addiction, there is really a habit that is formed and it will only be overcome once you quit and do some other things..

You can gamble with your friends and wager other thing instead of money, like wishes or secrets, so you will still have feeling of risk which is quite important for gambling. For example loser of gambling between friends might have to do some homework or some funny thing.

I don't think that it will be fun
for a longer period of time, since the things that are in stake
are not that pleasurable to fight or to win with.

If somebody wants to stay away from gambling
then he should make a way to get out of it first, and not to stay on it as what your post
is pertaining to.

For me, there is much greater thrill when you gamble with money. The thrill of expecting to win big. But what really will eventually happen is that, you will lose against the casino because the latter is designed to win aside from entertainment. No casinos will be established if they have the very big risks of losing their bankroll.

I think you have to do other fun things besides gambling. you can spend time with friends or family because I believe it would be more fun than gambling. you can also use other ways to earn money other than gambling, for example such as trading and mining bitcoin

Yes that is the most effective way that you are going to do so that you are going to totally forget about gambling. Because having another hobby that you are going to focus will going to make you stay away from gambling. And I can see that this method is going to be effective way that you are going stay away with it.
Yes, family and friends are one of the helpful people we can have, and if they are really caring about us they will surely help us overcome our addiction in gambling.

yeah , but family and family member never remain at every moment with us i that they make some care whether we are going to gamble or not . or there is something thinking to gamble . so i think a gambling addicted person try yourse to get out from such types of things .

I agree with this in all totality because anyone who thinks one can just stop an activity that has become an habit, just like like must definitely not getting it. All I will just add is that self discipline is the first step to it by deciding, I am not going to open that site or saying I am not going to that thread then gradually it reduced from 10 times to 2 times and finally to once in a while. But thinking I will make a decision and that will solve it, is definitely out of it...

Yeah,

We should take it one step at a time.

There are always no fast way to get out of
something that a person is addicted with.

First we should limit our selves into the addiction, look for some emotional
support, and one at a time slowly forget about gambling.

This is what I am doing, I am always keeping my family up to date with events that are going to come with our lives and they are very supportive to me every time I am informing them. Having a quality time is the best time and that is much better rather you are going win good amount as you gamble. The feeling is priceless and that is going to help you to stay away from gambling.

With the time you can give with your family, I guess nothing can beat that as it is very important as we are just living in this world in a short period of time so we need not to be selfish by just using our time in gambling. I commend you for doing great that you were able to stay gambling for your family.
