Yes of course.

I see. Well I just started up 18 MNs and started them all syncing from scratch at 2.0.4.0 as a test.
I'll update on how they go once they sync up. (they are still syncing with 100k blocks more to go)

This has not happened before with all previous v2.0.x.0 wallets so it's definitely looking better so far.

I am getting the same.    Post your address and i'll send a test transaction that you can bounce back to me.  Am I right in thinking that the master node will be ok as long as the balance is above 10K?

If your masternode is working the coins should be locked and you can't spend the 10k

No, your wallet does not need to be encrypted in order to stake.

Your v2.4.0.0 wallet should be staking. I have found that after syncing from scratch I need to restart my wallet before it will start staking.

It is the v2.1.0.0 wallet is the one that will not stake until a given time.
