SIGT is more profitable from the beginning until Aug 3 2017 even though there is only 1 exchange https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/. Bittrex and other exchanges will soon be online

Unfortunately right now the difficulty skyrocketed because of too many miners. I am  getting only half of what i used to mine from 50 per hour to 28 per hour with 13 1060

Aside from that there will be halving of Reward once we reach 30000 blocks from 2500 to 1250 SIGT

Congratulations to those who are still having good profits by mining it.

I think these are the miners who have lower than $0.15/kWh electricity. If the difficulty rises as fast as before, they will not be profitable soon.

I pay 0.25 dollar /kWh and use the old 7970 to mine the Eth. I will not be profitable to mine in the next few weeks.
Electricity in my place cheap, for now minie the eth  is still profitable.
But I do not know when ETH mining is closed?  Huh

Whenever this happenes, all gpu mining will be unprofitable.
But I dont believe ETH will stay on that timetable, but expect to be PoW for at least 2 more years

Mining is still profitable for people already in. I highly discourage anyone to join it now since in two months, maybe three, mining will completely stop because of Casper, meaning a transition from PoW to PoS.

that is right. If you have paid off your miner and electricity price is low, it is still ok to mine.

What? What is it now? PoS soon or postponed?

It will not be wise to rely on a single coin, if you are a miner. New coin will come. ETH made our day memorable. But soon POS is coming and very big number of miners will jump into other coins. There will be sudden rise of diff and mining will be less profitable. What if thousands of gpu starts mining zec or other coins at a time ? I wish I will get another coin like eth in future. That will make my mining profitable again

PoS won't be until 2018 at the earliest. The fact that there is no concrete timeline should tell you a lot about how close to "finished" it is.

I've been mining SIGT for the last week, profitability better than ETH and takes less power too.

Which wallet / miner are you using?

I use Windows wallet.

Miner: sig-miner

You can find everything on their website: https://signatum.io/#downloads

What is your rig? AMD or Nvidia cards?

AMD RX 580s, Nvidia would be much better, but even with AMD it's more profitable than ETH especially it was going up for the last few days.

I was wondering if ethereum mining is still profitable. So what do you say?

Is it still profitable to mine ethereum with GPUs and CPUs?

It will be very easy for you to use this calculator to understand profitability: https://badmofo.github.io/ethereum-mining-calculator/. Hope that helps!

But the difficulty has gone up a lot as well.

The other problem is the ICE age or the diffculty bomb.

It is profitabile for people who made rig 2 months ago and earlier but i if you want to make rig now I think that isn't profitabile because ROI is near 1 year. Hardware is just so expensive.

I think so. That is the reason I am not expanding anymore.

The difficulty of ETH is rising too fast. Only people with cheap electriicty will be profitable soon.

It's profitable still  & is going to be all the way into metropolis because the demand for ether is going to continue to go up. I've heard that metropolis greatly reduces the inflation so there will be substantially less coins generated so we are going to see a large increase again in the price before & after metro.
