A bank accepting bitcoin sounds quite unusual; however, it makes total sense when you see it from a customer’s perspective.

I barely know any such organisation or institution. Anyway though any bank issues such amendment then it will turn your so called bitcoin into a centralised currency which is currently not. Because when you say bank it is highly regulated and it will never keep the bitcoin flow as free as it is currently. They might regulate the price of bitcoin according to themselves. They will change the fees according to their norms. It would be difficult to hold the BTC at this point. So just wish that it will never happen in the coming future.  Tongue

It really won't be a good thing for banks to start accepting Bitcoin because that would defeat the same essence of it been an anonymous coin. There's no banking activity that goes without proper documentation. And if Bitcoin were to be involved, it then means that holders of the coins will be known through documentation. However, I am yet to see any bank that's accepting Bitcoin in this part of Africa that I am.

I agree the whoke idea if using bitcoin  is to get away from the hands of the banks and goverments and using bitcoin in banks defies that idea, however there a bitcoin debit cards which can be used at any ATM and in any bank so i ma not sure if that is what you ment by banks aceepting bitcoin or not, as far as depositing money through bitcoin i don't think there is one bank out there that does that.

No banks accept bitcoin directly and I doubt very much that they ever will.  They do accept it indirectly meaning you can use exchanges to send fiat to your bank.
Actually, as of now there’s no bank directly accept bitcoin as deposit of their costumer and I think they can’t handle because bitcoin doesn’t have exact value. Furthermore, all banks in the world need the real money as a deposit and if you want to get real money you need to convert bitcoin into fiat but bank doesn’t have any exchanger in bitcoin. Lastly, it is very hard to regulate because the price of bitcoin is always change.

I send my Bitcoin in my bank but i still need to use 3rd party site to convert my Bitcoin to $ and to send it to my bank. I think there is no direct to the bank transaction with Bitcoin yet or i haven't heard any yet. If that happens then it will be easier for me to send and received Bitcoin without using 3rd party site.

A bank to support bitcoin transactions might have at Japan since they legalized it already, soo if there isnt yet im sure on the next months they will provide those service without a third companie between, and even if they choose a third companie atleast you dont need to be scared to get your funds frozen.

there are banks in south east asia that accepts Bitcoin as payment. for example in Jakarta Indonesia, Bitcoin is very popular and they are accepting bitcoins as payments despite of its volatility. since 1USD = 13292.99 indonesian's rupiah , they never use actual paper money for transaction, instead they are using cards and sometimes bitcoins.
well if u said very popular for those who make money online/their income from online things , yes it is. but for normal/common people , i would say they almost don't have any idea what bitcoin is.

None that I know of, especially here in my country.

I think it is not going to be as easy as that. Even if a certain bank wants to, every country has national banking policies and laws that each and every bank is bound to abide with. If accepting bitcoin or any cryptocurrency for that matter is not legally sanctioned by any banking policy or law, no bank shall ever accept bitcoin.

I hope the day will come when banks would open their doors to bitcoin transactions.

I highly doubt there would be a bank for bitcoins because the whole point of btc is for it to be anonymous and that bank will totally destroy that ideal.
Well, I think there are still no bank that accept bitcoin as a deposit of their costumer.Furthermore, bitcoin doesn’t have exact value in every time the value of bitcoin can change so that if there’s a bank can accept bitcoin I think they can’t handle it. I hope in the near future some bank would accept bitcoin as deposit of their costumer.

There are no banks who accept bitcoin, but with the majority of banks you can withdraw money to an exchange and buy bitcoin.
I use kraken and when i want to buy bitcoins i just iniatiate a SEPA transfer and voila i can buy bitcoin.
I agree that there are still no banks who accept bitcoin. In addition to that, I guess that if there is a bank who totally accepts the bitcoin I think they can’t handle it well because bitcoin doesn’t have any exact value. However, I think in the near future there will be a bank who allows bitcoin as deposit of their client.

I doubt that banks will take bitcoin. They do not need such a strong competitor. I think that they will convince all citizens that it is impossible to trust cryptocurrency, and all the savings need to be kept in a bank

"We have been talking to a couple of fintechs and have actually gone with the fintechs to the FCA to talk about how we could bring, the equivalent of bitcoin, not necessarily bitcoin, but cryptocurrencies into play," Vaswani told CNBC at the Money 20/20 fintech conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

They are already exploring alternatives with their circle gateway.
I doubt they will just toss it aside when they put so much money into it and they've grown such a large userbase.
And circle just said goodbye to bitcoin a few months ago.

And in the end... who needs them anyway?

No. Some banks even block your account if you are affilaited with bitcoin.

I have never read this case, even in countries that prohibit the use of bitcoin, all banks accept the withdrawal of bitcoin because of the conversion from the exchanger. And then the exchanger just proceed to the bank. Not personally but using a third party at the desired withdrawal stage.

How are you trading through local bank? Are you directly transacting BTC with banks or via any service provider such as Zebpay, Consecure etc.
If you are transacting directly with bank, kindly share the name of the bank. Because as per my local banks they are not accepting direct transaction of BTC.
