If there is no internet in today's world then Most of the companies would stop running.

Check this market - no electricity and only cash.

Who need there the virtual currency?

Cash is anonymous at 99,99%
Cash is working with No Internet And with Black Out conditions.

Yeah make sense lol.

Physical transactions still dominates the whole money system and it will even we count for centuries. It will just changed it's form but the transaction system dealt directly remain the same.

about 10 billion dollars would be lost in bitcoins

I have no "Savings In Bitcoins".
I think the internet is impossible to be down in all countries? I think it may just internet down but not for all countries? if the internet down in one country alone would not provide any effect on bitcoin. because other countries are still able to conduct transactions and access bitcoin.
the point is it will be impossible for all the Internet can be down

I can't imagine if this happen since in order to access bitcoin it need synchronize to server.
In order to synchronize , it need internet to make it work. But if that happen forever , since bitcoin is a digital currency ( can't be hold ) we will lost it forever except you've convert it earlier before internet down !

Someone have the Idea, how much villages in today's Russia have no electric energy supply?
About what Internet are You talking?

Cash 100%
of course everyone would get back to using cash though about 10 billion dollars would be lost in bitcoins then, i think that would be a huge problem among the people
no i think people will find other ways of using bitcoin. it depend on the interest of the people that how much people are interested there. and you will see that people will even then not leave to use bitcoin.

You have to understand that the internet is not one main central computer system which can go down.  For the internet to go down every internet service provider in the world would have to terminate.  If this happens for some reason, we have a lot more to worry about other than what would happen to Bitcoin.

yeah, bitcoin is currently too younger in the world of internet there are a lot of other businesses and other matters related to the internet if internet gone down then a big destruction to the world system will be in wait, so developers will not let it to go down, for the sake of world business and world system maintenance they will struggle hard to keep internet alive.

No offence, but if the internet goes down, chances are that there is some sort of nuclear war going on.  The governments today depend on the internet world to communicate and no one knows how to use old communication systems.  Try to go without your phone for 1 week.  Some people would not know what to do.

Try to go without your phone for 1 week.  Some people would not know what to do.

How about those people in third world countries that can't even experienced internet for their whole life?

Internet will be a headache for those who depends on here mostly but for the people who doesn't have experienced using it, it's just a piece of candy even without it they can live.

Also if applied to thread title, people in those community will never be reached by bitcoin.

given the cayos happening in the world i wouldn't be surprised of nuclear war and in this case i would expect internet disruption question is what happens to Bitcoin if internet goes down?

home internet and mobile internet goes down

do not mean trade bitcoin to buy/sell i mean using it as a way of payment say you wanted to send money to someone abroad for family far away

If internet goes down,  Bitcoin will go down as well. Since Bitcoin transmission is dependent on  internet.  All the transaction will stop.  Bitcoin transfer, mining, shop payments etc.  This is actually what we literally called Bitcoin network being dead.
Bitcoin being dead means you cannot send Bitcoin or use it as a mean of payment if you wanted to send money to someone in the other country.

Bitcoin would just go down and there is nothing that we are able to do at that point, that is just fact.
Internet is to important in today's world so we cannot live without it.

Definitely this won't happen, in older days nobody depends upon internet but now the condition has reversed, so if internet gets collapsed the whole economy will be collapsed.

That's true. If such a situation arise no sectors functions properly. From a small shops to multi-storeyed malls and highly booming industries gets collapsed. Possibly our internet system gets further development than going down.

I cannot able to digest the question you asked, because we are people now depending on the bitcoin  now it is the most valuable paying currency right now, many people have invested ton and tons in bitcoin, if this happens definitely many will suicide.

I think you less to digest the question asked. It is true that there are some people who rely on the bitcoin for profit or for use in a given transaction. But it is also for sure there will be something that could happen, i.e., as asked by the COP. so these are just opinions and you certainly know what it's opinions

Actually, bitcoins wouldn't necessarily die just because of internet going down since bitcoins are also stored offline with servers under nuke bunkers, guarded with real armed people.

It's only that the transactions would halt, since there wouldn't be any way of doing transactions but of course, it's only a matter of time when people get to think of ways of spending them again since we wouldn't just settle in and accept the fact that internet is down for good.
