It's simple, the whole network and its miners will not reach each other, and thus stop working completely. It is however not a doom scenario as nodes and miners are not in a single place. They are spreaded throughout the world which means that whatever happens in a certain city or country, there will always be enough countries that keeps Bitcoin functioning. No need to worry.

This made me laugh. I am imagining the 1930's great depression when the stock traders jumped out of their windows for their office because the have incurred a lot of debt. The internet is designed not to go down, I think the OP is being a little fatalistic (Nuclear War / Chaos), however, I wouldn't trust any paper wallets of coins with the BTC logo if they were offered to me as their contents couldn't be verified.

If an outage in the local area occurred (and they do) it might affect local miners or businesses, but those types of outages usually last 6-12 hours tops.

There are quite a few issues with Bitcoin being tied so closely to the requirement of having an internet connection, but for most of the world right now having access to the internet isn't necessarily a terrible and taxing requirement. That is the main of disadvantages from bitcoin, without internet,bitcoin is nothing, we can't use bitcoin in the area is not covered by the internet. but I think the internet will be alive until a long time. but not close the possibilities for internet is going die.

Don't go overboard with it. People committing suicide? A know about a few guys who committed suicide after losing their life savings during the Mt Gox scandal. But such weak people are everywhere. Anyway... Bitcoin is a currency developed especially for internet transactions. So there is no point in having BTC, if the internet is not there.
