Indeed, one of the benefits of LEOcoin is that it has the additional support of a community that is - for most of it - not a traditional part of the cryptocurrency world. Strangely enough, this support of a group of - for the most of it - entrepreneurs having small and medium enterprises all over the world, is not really perceived as a benefit. Yet, with steadily growing numbers and projects that are aimed at including LEOcoin, the long term prospect of LEOcoin might benefit from this connection and support, or it may at least not harm it.
When LEOcoin was created, it was seen as a (future) mean of payment. When botnet mining occurs, the ecology and price of a coin does suffer. As, imo, most miners are also very speculative in nature - after all, we all wish to take part in the next BTC - when prices go down, the coin is declared dead. With LEOcoin this is not - see market cap - and will not - see LEO community support - be likely to happen in the near future. LEOcoin Foundation is not aimed at producing hypes, pump and dump hysteria (sorry girls) or bubbles, instead we prefer a decent coin, stable prices, slow rise in price, wide use in trading and for buying and selling goods and services. In addition, raising public support for digital currencies, for groups of entrepreneurs, political figures and early adopters, will raise attention.
This is the plan. Time will show how fast LEOcoin will be able to digest the dumping of multiple millions of botnet mined coins and return to normal values. For those in doubt, I will pass on what one of my best friends told me, before he did extremely well with LEO:
"at first when you start and aim for high goals, they laugh at you and ridicule you. When you then survive, get your first successes and a healthy growth, they start scamming, bashing and hating you, for denial is their nature. Once you start to really cash in for your community, make new friends and your and their dreams come true and you start to realize some or most of your goals, most doubters will regret to have waited so long: Those who took risks and worked hard, will be happy and the bashers will go on, doing what they are programmed to do, as tragically enough, bashers are just sorry folks that lost faith to achieve success."
Now, I am not confusing criticism with bashing, or taking tough questions for bashing. We can and should not take everything for granted. And I am ok with this thread. We need pro and cons lined out, and if we can achieve that in a civilized way, criticism can and will add to the quality of the LEOcoin development. For this we should all be grateful, but critical support or bashing out of a hidden agenda are two pair of shoes.
Let us hope and trust, LEOcoin will soon put on seven-league boots and walk the fast lane, but likely it will again be a lot of work. As usual.
