It is, bettong on sports is a gambling. Sports betting/sportsbook is a type of gambling too, gambling is not always about dice and casino. If betting on sports not gambling, what else then ?

Yes of-course. as long as you put a money or a bitcoin at stake in exchange of higher win or losing is considered to be gambling, From the main definition of gambling, it is where you put money at stake to win more or in bad situation to lose. so still sports betting is considered to be a gambling. |

Yes I pretty sure betting on sports it is sort of gambling but it is much better than other format where we have to use our skills and experience to pick the right team for betting, all the time result not happened as we think so that it is clearly gambling.

Gambling literally refers to a risky action in a hope of desired result ( which is earning higher money). So there is no doubt to say betting is a part of gambling as it is too risky as rolling dice and others. |

It is not just sports betting anywhere you put your money at stake to win more is called gambling.Sports betting works same way you choose team or individual depends on nature of game which you think will win.If that wins you win and your return is much more than initial money.Sports betting is form of gambling and there is nothing unclear in it.

Yes,betting on sports events is equal to gambling.Gambling doesn't mean to play in casinos both online or offline.Gambling can be done on anything.I have seen and done gambling among friends on many odd things/tasks or guessing something.Everything which has money or some benefit/loss involved is gambling.Sports is fun but once there is money it transforms into gambling.

Of course they are the same. You are risking money therefore it is gambling. imo gambling is not just in risking your money. Also if you are going to work abroad its like your betting your fate if you will success(win) or not(lose) its consider as gambling. If you are risking one thing its consider as gambling imo.

Yes, It is pretty much gambling. You bet an amount of money and wait for the results with a chance to win. Yes, the chance increases on how much you know the sport, clubs and players. But you are not going to know precissely the result.
You bet in poker, right? It's betting just not on sport. So if poker is gambling, sports betting is just another form of gambling.

Betting = gambling, in my opinion, like drwtsn32 stated in his comment above. No matter if you betting on sport, life, death or anything else around us. This life we have is one big game, and anyone have different odds and bankroll.
I know people that live from betting on sports, but its not easy at all. Very stressful job in my opinion, they risk big money and their profit depends from match result. And they don`t go in casinos ever, they follow sport every day, all day. And they calculate in their heads what to do next, and what is good game to bet on. I like to gamble on sports but with low amounts, if I have luck good, if not then nothing. I`m not disappointed when I lose on that, like now when I lost bet on Federer. I thought he will win Raonic and he lost after good turn over.

Yep. That is just about it. Anything that you bet on to have a chance to earn more is gambling almost immediately. Once you put up something for it. That is gambling already. |

Sports betting is truly form of gambling even it is tough to predict for some matches result like recently what happened with Roger Federer, he was hot favorite of bookies and on other side his competitor Milos Raonic played amazingly so nice, after this kind of result there is no doubt sports betting is equal to gamble.

As long as whatever you are doing involves a luck, or probability of something happening, then definitely you are gambling. Sports betting is a pure means of betting because whatever choice that you take will depend on chance with odds attached to it.

I think it is technically gambling, but it's not as risky as other gambling because you can do research on sports to increase your odds. In other words, it's not completely left to chance like dice and other games are.

Well you would say that it is gambling because it requires luck, but investing requires luck too and it's called "investing" and not gambling, and both in investing and sport betting there is a skill that is nothing but studying the performance of the teams, in the case of investing, studying the performance of assets. So investing and betting on sports is the same thing, but one is not considered gambling and other is considered a gamble...
