In my opinion we gamble our money away by picking a team on who/which will win and expecting a profit depending on an outcome of the game. So basically sports betting is considered gambling.

Yeah its gambling if you dont have a bet we can not considered it as gambling if we are just member of the team or game.. and don't spend any dime or money they we can not considered it as gambling..

You are right, in any game or sport where we bet our money is called as gambling, there are different types of gambling just like indoor and out door gambling, sport betting is also a type of gambling.

It's true friend. that gambling is something just give pleasure to those who do, the pleasure they get is a victory that is temporary and of the victory they have outstanding thinking well, however can lead them into a very dangerous gambling addiction (want to get rich quick with gambling/benefit). It is something very harmful if they can't control themselves

Sure betting on sports considered as gambling too. Look at the odds. Every good teams/person that have a good chance to win the game will have a lower odd while the weak one will get the bigger odd. Even you pick the good teams everytime, that wont guarateed that you will gain profit at the end. Sometime surprise comes when weakest team beat the stronger one.

I think in some kind of a perfect world there is a huge difference between betting and gambling. I am talking about the world with no corrupt games or fights and people always behave pretty much the same and are very rational. In that world it would be possible to gather the information about soccer teams, for instance, and put money on a better one. However, I don't believe we live in such a world, actually.

Exactly if we put our money in risk to double our money, it is called gambling. Sports also betting same we will place our bet to get profit so this sports is also gambling. According to me betting and gambling both having the same meaning, there is no difference b/w these two words.
