To me too, it is pure gambling so far you it invloves a situation where you have to put your resources on the line to get a certain return in excess of what you initially put into it then it is gambling coupled with the risk you have to take to get that return then I conclude it is no different than gambling.

You must be right. When there is no research and analysis involved with the a particular sports on a particular day, still if you are going for betting on that day might result in gambling your resources. There are few chances with sports betting to analyse your outcome, if you miss that then there won't be any difference.

As long as there is money involve that you put into risk then that is considered as gambling, even trading we can also consider that as gambling because there is no certain result what is going to happen to your money as you trade. Well I voted for "yes", although I agree profession sports betting is not a myth. Although it's not a myth it's still gambling. You can call it professional gambling if you want, and I think it's possible both in sports betting, and in poker as well. I can't see it in any other place. I totally agree with you that sports betting is less risky as you can get full details about the match and the teams who are going to play with their previous records , so with this help you can prepare a report of the upcoming match result, if you take less risky bet then surely you will be in profit but in other gambling dice and casino games what ever strategy you do you will be in loss at the end.

No, sports betting has the same risks as gambling in a casino where the odds might change and go against your favor.
It is not inevitable that if you go for less risky bet, the same person or team will win the match.

I agree that anything that is uncertain of the result and involved betting money is gambling.  Sports Betting is no difference.  Since we are uncertain who the winner will be even if we have statistics and data that show someone is underdog doesn't mean that the guy will lose.  There are lots of proven fact about underdog winning the competition and the one who has advantage eat the dust.

Yes, for me its also a gambling also. there is money involved and it cause addiction also like any betting game.But if you bet on regular season with a family to watch together,its a good bonding moments but doing it everyday just to think for winnings not a good sign.
