Monacoin and Spreadcoin.
Both coins are strong in volume and have an active dev team.

The most active developer i found here btw was the developer of dogecoindark

My current top 3 of reliable and innovating altcoins are
1) Ethereum
2) Monero
3) Stellar/Lumen/Ripple

Stellar/Ripple have the same 'setup' and i think they can attract some big time investors (Google ventures f.e. did invest in Ripple).

Don't spend your money unless you know how to trade or have any inside info, the market is completely manipulated. And in the long run not one of these will survive if Bitcoin dies, that's the bottomline. Something new will come along and kill the rest. But if you know what you are doing then you can definitely make money day trading or holding for short-mid term.

Asking  for coins worth trading is like asking for which days in 2016 that are going to get rain. Everyone has an opinon and they are promoting some shitcoins that they are bagholding. You should research coins that is more than 1 year old and has an good volume. Then visit some faucets to get some satoshis to trade with. Learn and research more. Its easy to lose money but its hard to earn some back.

Some provide things that bitcoin does not.

I usually use analogy of bitcoin to gmail. gmail being the most popular email service does not mean that no other service can exist, be used, and be successful. For example I use tutanota and protonmail, because they give something (i.e. privacy and anonymity) which gmail does not provide. Same I use monero which gives privacy and anonymity, which bitcoin does not provide.

Spoetnik,

I want you to put Iota in your sig.

Ok, it's a standup coin.

The non-clone you have always been looking for.

It doesn't even have a blockchain.

As I read somewhere here, now that as non-clone as you can get!!

Thanks Spoetnik I knew when a coin wasnt a "crappy clone" made by dirtbags you would be the first to support it.

I know your a man of your word

I've been reading through this forums for the past few weeks and all I see is "this coin is dead" or "everything is a shit coin". Is there any alt coin with potential to invest in or is it only bitcoin? I don't mean like a few here and there, I mean over 100 coins.

Times are tough.. Risto the millionaire had to sell his prized Unicorn on his Retro City faggy forum game i reported for spamming way back.

Some help from me: There are some really good old altcoins on the markets called very crytic like CHF, EUR, GBP. Have a closer look at those they Might outperform ......

You should consider Emercoin, a leading digital currency and blockchain platform which focuses on innovation in all sectors of business and consumer use. We hold a top 20 position in the global digital currency market cap listing (http://coinmarketcap.com/) and are trading at just under 0.09 cents USD. Now, I might be biased however this is  quite undervalued given the numerous innovative services and features the currency has. When you compare us to the other top 30 digital currencies, what they have delivered to market and the impact the currency and underlying blockchain is having, we are several undervalued.

Also, Microsoft has just partnered with Emercoin so that we can deliver EMC and our blockchain services to the World via the Azure Cloud marketplace: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-blockchain-as-a-service-update-3/

Here is a sample of our technologies that are implemented on the Emercoin blockchain and are being used by customers around the globe:

EMC SSH - Our decentralized solution for secure shell management
EMC SSL - Our decentralized solution for online security and passwordless authentication
EMC DNS - Censorship-resistant domain name system that improves upon Namecoin
EMC TTS - Our trusted time stamping service
EMC STREAM - Micropayment library for streaming digital media of all types
EMC LNX - The first decentralized pay-per-click advertising network of its kind
EMC DPO - Our digital proof of ownership solution for physical or digital goods and services
EMC InfoCard - Storage for digital business cards for use with EMC SSL
