Why is everyone ignoring the China problem?
Would it be a problem if most of the miners were in the US, Japan, Germany, France, and the UK? That still does not add up to nearly the population of China. Stop being racist, people. Why did he have to exit the Bitcoin space with so much drama? Surely he must have had some underhanded motives to undermine it before leaving.
Or maybe it's because he worked on it for 5 years, has emotional attachment to this project, and really hope that through this, he can at least help a little bit in changing the situation and possibly even help rescue bitcoin...?

It's not racism, you fuckwit. A country ruled by a malevolent regime controls 95% of hashing power. It isn't a great situation. You are quite naive if you think this is nothing to be concerned about at all.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

The price has dropped already by $100 overnight. Whatever is going on I think it's a mission accomplished for the perpetrators. Now it's best to sit back and enjoy the show as people already mentioned here.

Again a great joke from someone who is changing the side. Two words - well played mr. Hearn. Do you really believe on this? The smartest people of the world who create the miracle algoritm will forget a little details about blockchain mb. Ridiculous ... So firends we have nothing more to do . You must know one. The bitcoin system is a revoult as a counter of the existing money, bank and etc system, where six or seven "powerful guys" think ok today we will create another thousand dollars. They are triyng to stop bitcoin miracle or to control it. IT IS TIME FOR BUYING - not for selling now. Because when this little game end it will remain only one scary story about a mercenery tried to kill technical revolution and of course he failed. If you want to make some fortune. Buy, buy and only buy Best Regards: Emil Samsarov, Bulgaria

Like Bram Cohen has said, "It's one whiny ragequit." He's employed by R3, he can quit anytime.

Mike Hearn and others of his ilk are minions of the establishment. His opinions (or balking) carries no weight at all. Andreas Antonopolus or Roger Ver on the contrary does. And they are optimistic about the current scenario. N.Y. Times ... give me a break pressititude!

I don't get it. ... Easy ... Hearn just Said Bitcoin XT Is Dead an wishes bitcoin any luck. Fine. Critics is always good as long as it Is constructive. My critics is to Mike and R3: If you try to find consense in R3 Solution, Mike might fail again and run away shouting on You..... good luck! And yes not easy find good Solutions for open Source stuff but bitcoin will do so as always did. manny proofs exists for that and guess Mike also was part of that....

After I read more about this topic I think Mike Hearn is trying to save the project not to fail it. The first attribute of the bitcoin is decentralization. This is the simple answer to 50% mining btc power concentrated in China hands. And if we think about this more we will see the point. To bankrut this oraganizations you must fail btc price. Yes this will ruin many btc markets, trusts, btc investors and will reflect to all of us - bitcoin enterprenuers. The aim is first than the price. More of us know that bitcoin system is very liberal an independent that is why Mike Hearn doing the big counter and turn the course. Everyone who knows who is Mike Hearn will listen to his words. Don't panic and do not sell. Stay in shadow and remain calm. The king is dead, long live the king!

why should you buy now when the price will go below 200 USD? you just have to sell what you have, take any profit or limit your losses and wait...

Bitcoin Classic rolls out, and days later there is no word about it in the News Media. Mike Hearn declares Bitcoin dead and within hours it is in the New York Times..... http://www.nytimes.com/2016/01/17/business/dealbook/the-bitcoin-believer-who-gave-up.htmlMark my words: Bitcoin is getting ready to be in a fight for it's life.On one side are the Blockstream/Core players. Liars, manipulators, shill, not afraid to destroy the fabric of Bitcoin with every bit of FUD they can dredge up - even if it kills bitcoin, but if they can't have total control, no one can. On the other side you have Mike Hearn w/R3CEV/Hyperledger/Banks (AND Mainstream Media & Govt backing - don't forget that!)We are at the start of a foot race to see who gets ready forst for the upcoming global financial meltdown. It's pretty clear that Bitcoin Classic will prevail in the upcoming March Fork given the huge amount of support / concensus for it. But Blockstream seems to wat to make this a do or die fight, and they appear to be willing to destroy the good name of bitcoin if they don't get their way. The looming battle may be the perfect backdrop of confusion and chaos for a Fiat Coin to rise from the shadows, and with the help of Gov't & Media nods - be introduced to the masses. Fasten your seatbelts kiddies.... this is going to be a wild ride. Right now I am betting 50% on Classic / 50% on Fiat Coin. Current 1mb Blockstream/Core Coin not even worth mentioning in my opinion. I see 0.001%. People still not getting the intent or thought behind original message. This morning the message spread......
SOURCE / REUTERS: http://in.reuters.com/article/us-global-technology-bitcoin-idINKCN0UT2II TITLE: Lead developer quits bitcoin saying it 'has failed'
Reuters is THE Mainstream News Distributor. This story will be spread and picked up by thousands more media outlets today. But let me make this clear.... the point isn't that Mike Hearns is right (he isn't - YET). The point is that IF they had a Fed Coin ready right now, it WOULD BE DEAD. They would be piggybacking the Positive Spin Story of Fedcoin, while piling on about Bitcoins Death. And it would die, deader than dead as people flocked to the Fedcoin. As I have said.... Bitcoin is getting ready to have the fight of its life.... for its very survival. This is just a warning of what is to come. Because this is how easy the Powers That Be can use their money and mass media to destroy it. Get Bitcoin Ready. Classic Developers need to shut up, eyes on keyboards, Code, Release 2 Mb Upgrade, and every miner and node runner needs to switch and creating Classic blocks without hesitation. Because the 1st battle in the loomng war is going to be against the small block pinheads. They are getting ready to DDOS sites, spread FUD (that Media will also use against Bitcoin), and basically try and kill bitcoin if they can't have control. After that.... the real battle will occur.... against a Fedcoin. Get Bitcoin Ready! Start the Scale!
