I think that gambling is indeed sometimes causing people a very big problem in their lives, however, I don't think that gambling is wrong. Rather, it is their own choice to start gambling in the first place.

So yeah, it's really your choice whether to be addicted to it or not.

As human we are not perfect, there is a saying goes that it is better to stay away from temptation than to fight with it. If you feel you can be easily addicted with gambling then you need to quit it to stay away in gambling.

Its easy to say that but its a mental illness its so much deeper than that.

Agreed with you, its really difficult for the people to get out of the gambling if they are addicted towards the gambling. They try to stay away from the gambling but because of the greediness they can't stop their self from playing the game; as you said earlier due to the mental illness.

It is also not because in a money matter, I think this is also in the sense of how the game  playing. some game are so addictive. but the others are not. some people can't stop doing gambling because the excitement that the game gives to the player.

Tbh I don't get as upset as I used to over big losses. Now I know when I press that "Deposit" button I'll end up with -[amount] in the end. I basically do it for entertainment now, and if I win that's a bonus. I don't need to ask people to help me stop because I don't really like talking about my problems to other people so I just try to stop my self. I was going good for 2 1/2 months between october-december, then I started again. If you haven't started gambling, it's a good thing. Don't do it. I never believed any one who told me it was addictive & all that and it got me nowhere lol

As long as there are poor people in this world there will be a lot of addicted in gambling, base on my research majority of the addicted people in gambling belongs the lower and middle class in the society in terms of financial status. They are prone to temptation because they are blinded by the possibility of winning a good amount of money but failed to determine their chances.

It is all depend on your own individual capability to control. I have friends who has been gambling for years. Some of them became so addicted to it that they went to gamble every single day. While my other friends like to play but they know how to control themselves, so they will gather as a group, maybe 1 year twice to go oversea together to gamble

The first time you may feel get entertained but if you do continuously gambling you will feel stressed under pressure because you always expect to win in every single bet in a game but the reality you get lost more than your wins.
