I think the problem with most gamblers is that they get into a slippery slope and can't ever recover from their losses. Worse yet, they can't stop thinking about their losses either. So it is a pretty bad situation for them.

I dont understand why people ruin their lifes gambling, always dreaming with the big jackpots, and be blind about the consequences of gambling. A gambler dont know the work stop or give up, when you able to make some income from those , you think you are with lucky, this usually make you loose all your capital in the short period.

I don't think that is the purpose of gambling (entertainment).  Remember gambling is a business establishment, their main purpose is to take profit.  And to do that, they need to distract casino players with entertainment.  Most people that think gambling is an entertainment often find themselves addicted to gambling.
