Electrum is best one among desktop wallet, It is more faster transaction than multibit. It is working faster in low network connection also, Even I Would suggest to everyone to use electrum.

Is Electrum insured? If the service lost your coins due to hacking, will it compensate you the coins?

I store my Bitcoins in online wallets. I think that is the best option. It is also very easy to use and that is so good.
I like it to use it and I think many people too. Some of them store it on their own Pc, That is also good.

I store my bitcoin in mycelium mobile wallet. I do not own big amount of btc now so I think it is safer enough. I do not use desktop wallets because I do not have a PC now
If I get more btc, I will store them in a paper wallet as it is one of the safest methods to store btc

All bitcoin wallets can be insured if you properly backed up the private key of your bitcoin wallet. Cheesy

It's not about insurance, it's about keeping the priv key safe to begin with.

It's one thing to have 20-30 CD's containing the wallet file, in safe spaces so if 1 CD gets lost or corrupted you have backup.

But if the wallet is not secure, then its nonsense, you need to secure the funds first ,in  a cold storage.

I prefer to store my bitcoin in my mobile block chain digital wallet. which is handy and safest way to keep the money online.

Most of my bitcoins are on offline paper wallet.
And small amount in my blockhain.info wallet for easy access.

I am in the same situation. I hold most coins and use very little amount of the coin to buy things.

Or invest it in some low risk investment. But most of the money must be kept in secure places, there are no bitcoin banks yet.

Most people are storing it at an online wallet so that is good. Most people trust it too and that is why it is safe.

Some people dont trust it and save it on their own computer.

Why would you go through the hassle of burning so many backups of 1 small file, if you can just write down the private key? Take an old book you've had all your life, open it at page 36, and write it down. Unlike a CD, the book will last for centuries. Just remember which book it is Smiley

So mostly everyone think that the most secure way to store the Bitcoin(s) are using a paper wallet? yes they are secure, it is getting more reliable if you are using the multisig approach

I store my bitcoins in multiple wallets due the security measures you have to take these days, Also got a paper wallet but for low amounts I do not recommend it.
For low amounts you do not need such a secured wallet because you will never a target for hackers because they can not get a lot out of you.
There are all kind of websites where you can create a online wallet, but be sure to take a trusted website so you will not be target of any hackers.

Hey you know what?

Well usually I stored my btc in electrum. And I still do with some coins.
But the biggest parts of my incomes are set in bitfinex and polienex to fill margin funding orders!
This way all the excedent money is used by someone and I get actually paid for it =D

I store my bitcoins in an online wallet but I think it is unsafe. Several of my betting sites have been hacked and I think the best way is to use an off line wallet.

basically no secure storage in the world, even in the bank. if you store them in an online wallet then use the one password via sms in order to tighten the security of your bitcoin, because I also store my bitcoin wallet online too

May I know in which online wallet you are using. If I can I will give suggestion and solution for that. Offline, paper, cold storage are very good when are storing large amount bitcoin. For small amount online wallet is enough I guess.
