I've never set up a seed node, so can't help there I'm afraid - but I'm sure mrbodz will know. I do know that p2pool requires at least 2 permanent seed nodes in order to keep the share chain alive, but more is better.

Mandatory Wallet Update!!! This time for real!! A hard fork will be happening in approximately 3 weeks (block 833000). This will enable merge mining and Dark Gravity Wave difficulty readjustment algorithm. The code is now, and forever located at https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin and moving forward all changes will be done on this repository. Open issues on there if you have any. A 32-bit Windows version of the wallet is available here: https://github.com/clockuniverse/terracoin/releasesThe 32-bit Windows version works perfectly with 64-bit Windows. We will have a 64-bit version soon! I have contacted Cryptopia and Vircurex telling them of the mandatory new wallet. This is a mandatory update to move Terracoin into the present. Since this is such an old block chain we will have a number of people who are unaware that this is happening. Please inform everyone immediately that this is happening. Thanks everyone!

I'm running a p2pool node for helping the share chain alive. I think if the node is active, it will automatically become a seed for the others. http://terracoinpool.ddns.net:9322/static/ (0% fee)

it shouldnt. I'll see if i can gather some time to get a new TRC p2pool going with a new chain
That would be great Ahmed. Ideally I think we should have a TRC Foundation seednode embedded in the networks.py file in the official p2pool repo, as it looks like the current ones are dead, and that's why people are creating their own sharechains by changing the "PERSIST" value - resulting in multiple sharechains. That's my theory anyway...... Thanks Ahmed! What does it take to host a seed node for both normal operation of the wallet and for p2pool? the new wallet has the needed seed's already inside. the p2pool is just a p2pool node. Ahmed

P2pool uses it's own seperate sharechain for each coin (as well as the coin blockchain) which also requires seed nodes. The problem is, when 2 or more users create their own sharechain to run p2pool, once they connect with each other it creates conflicts. Info: The current TRC blockchain seed nodes in the official P2pool repo are: https://github.com/p2pool/p2pool/blob/master/p2pool/networks/terracoin.py#L16

Info: The current TRC blockchain seed nodes in the official P2pool repo are: https://github.com/p2pool/p2pool/blob/master/p2pool/networks/terracoin.py#L16That file is really outdated. Thanks for pointing that out! I think I can figure out how to fix it, but I will need people to list their p2pool seed nodes so I can add it to the code. I also will update the version warning so that people know they are out of date with the wallet. I want to set up some TRC Foundation seed nodes for both eventually. As for the 64bit wallet, it may take a while for it to come out because our wallet dude is having some medical issues. You can use the 32bit for now, and when we release the 64bit you should be able to just copy over the 32bit exe and everything will work fine.

We need to get the word out to everyone about the new mandatory wallet update! Here is a list of sites I have contacted. There are so many other sites that I can't contact them all! Help me out. YesterdayVircurex - Haven't heard back (I doubt I ever will, so I recommend removing all TRC from there) Cryptopia - Looks like the wallet is currently being updated Just nowcoinmarketcap.com coingecko.com bchain.info multipool.us coinwarz.com You can also help out by retweeting our tweets (I never thought I would type that sentence): https://twitter.com/Terracoin_TRCOr upvoting on reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/Terracoin/Thanks, everyone!!

Cryptopia has finished updating their wallet!
Once the hard fork happens you won't be able to send or receive coins from Cryptopia unless you update your wallet.
Remember this is a mandatory update, so let's get the word out about updating the wallet, otherwise there are going to be a lot of people left in the dust while we move forward.
Thanks!

Great work clockuniverse & many thanks to mrbodz for his excellent work Terracoin is back! No problem!! I actually deleted everything except for my wallet and the block chain just to see what would happen and overnight I already have 14 peers. Two of them are on the new wallet so we are making progress!

Updated my windows wallet, pool wallet and Altcoinwarz.com - so far so good, I'm still mining right now. sent test coins from my old pool wallet to my new windows wallet, then to Cryptopia - you can buy them for 425 sat Guess I'll see what happens after the hard fork. note: "WARNING: abnormally high number of blocks generated, 168 blocks received in the last 4 hours (120 expected)"

Terracoin has always been one of my favorites, and with the bitcoin halving, Terracoin is a better choice to point my miners - sometimes more profitable than bitcoin!

Thanks! That warning is caused by someone with a high hashrate mining TRC till the difficulty goes up then they switch to a different coin for 540 blocks then switch back. Dark Gravity Wave will take care of that issue when the hard fork happens.

Another thanks, Hanzac! On a totally different topic I haven't heard back from Vircurex, so we need to email them a bunch to tell them to update their wallet. Email customerservice@vircurex.com otherwise people who are trading unaware on Vircurex will lose their coins when they attempt to send between Cryptopia and Vircurex. Thanks!
