what's a bit worrying to me, is the many people who got in around 1200, shit their pants now and may cash out once it gets back there. probably going to be a tough resistance around 1300 to break once we get back there.
Recent events have got me thinking about what the actual intentions of VERGE are. The decision to use libraries/technologies that are limited to a specific platform leads me to believe that VERGE is more so for the financial gain/benifit of the developers rather than mass adoption of a privacy coin.

That is true of 99% of the new coins created. Devs and their immediate circle are trying to get rich. Very few people actually care about crypto and the techonology as the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto did.

Well, for too long people wanted to believe [or got hyped into believing] that Verge is something special. Hype was created on purpose and that was the only reason for price spike in Oct/Nov. If you look at this coin's history, it was just laying around dormant & worthless. The coin has nothing unique to offer. Privacy? Well there are already plenty of well established privacy coins on the market with much much higher market cap & $ value. Wraith was hyped up as game changer .... nothing happened. It got exposed and that was the reason for its constantly falling price in Jan & remaining dormant when other coins were shooting off to moon.
Now most people are just waiting for this crappy coin's price to move even a few pennies up to offload their positions. If at all it moves up ever, off loading & mass selling will cause yet another big dip and will most likely render it to rot in the back alleys of crypto world.

No, this is not about that. I'm upset because I had miners putting in several amounts of GH/s that was fully wasted.

ijf you go with a paper wallet, you can DL the Generator go OFFLINE and then generate your address, PRINT it.
Then transfer funds to that address.
paper wallets dont need updated.
after the hard fork, and you want to spend again
you have to IMPORT the priv keys.
(directions are easily found for that)
Is this statement about paper wallet not needing updated good for all the types of forks or updates to the codebase/blockchain that can occur? Meaning, can i just go throw my paper wallets in a safety deposit box and not keep up with the goings on for a while?

Hardfork was poorly executed and the latest version of the wallet requires specific libraries (libseccomp, libcap) that are only available on Linux. You need to give exchanges and pool operators a clear schedule and ample amount of time (months) not days or weeks to prepare for a hardfork.
I hope someone can help me figure out how to build the new wallet on platforms other than Linux that do not support seccomp and libcap.
im the same was setting up a pool and and getting the same errors libseccomp, libcap not found etc Come on bro, nobody runs Windows and Mac servers. There is electrum wallet for those OSes. Yes 2 libraries were needed, just install them and post to Reddit for others who might be having trouble. This is a high-tech coin, Tor integration is no joke to do, and these devs don't have time for hand-holding. We can all work together and smooth out the rough edges. Most important for the devs is to ensure security. Thanks for listening.

I understand devs are very busy but is there no one close to them who can give an update on the status after the hard fork ?
I'm asking this because on the biggest European exchange XVG is still in maintenance. This tends to make people nervous

Stop selling people.... I've seen the value above 1400s less than a month ago. Why sell in the 800 - 870s ?
you must know that is trading. Someone bought XVG under 60 satoshi so they want to sell to get profit, someone bought at 1300 sats but they think XVG price will decrease so they want to stop loss. And have a lot of whales in here, they want to get cheap coin.

(I am one of them) Team should open their eyes and listen the investors to gain momentum again. First they need to make wallet easier for everyone. Second they need to find good and famous partnership third roadmap doesnt reflect whole 2018 and need to be updated.

(trezor?) Make sure you use a safe paper generator, DOWNLOAD the page, put the generator on a safe computer (no internet access) and generate. (thats the Super safe way)
