No worries. If you were to create another line of these displays, perhaps focusing on showing BTC price for alt's etc. I would be first in line to get one

Any particular reason for which the code is not open source and on Github? This could really expand the potential use cases of the device if there are people familiar with the language used.

most of the smarts are server side, only a small portion are in the LUA code that you can find here


Edit: I would be happy for someone else to offer a alternate build pointing at a different server but that's a whole lot of work most people wont want to do.

I think you did a great job at a very affordable price with a beautiful design to boot.

The coding is great and the OP can only do so much to please everyone.

It is a product he made and is selling. He did also make a lot of changes over time from a bunch of requests.

Open source is a great idea.

I think if you have any special requests you could ask the OP what he might charge to make such a change as it does take time.  I personally asked him to make some changes and offered to pay him for them (his time) but he released them anyway for free.

It is a $39 product folks. Please remember that.

After 6+ months of use, my ticker is still going strong!  I just want to thank you again for making such a great product. It's probably my favorite and most useful "gadget" I've ever bought.

I have had mine for a long time as well and the new firmware is absolutely great I have it in my office and now everyone loves comming in and seeing the price of BTC keep going up

My AFKData unit keeps resetting itself randomly. No matter if I power it down before shutting down my computer, if I connect it through a hub, etc. It's quite annoying to have to setup the unit every 20 hours or so. Any idea what it could be?

I was having that problem with mine.  Thought it might have been power, but supplied a 2A adapter and same issue.  
Modified the code a little for logging and found it happened when it would lose wifi signal.

All in all, I ended up replacing the ESP/NodeMCU unit.  Cheap fix ($5) and it never had a problem again.  Couple of months ago.

I stealth put out a new v1.5 last night, the only change is that it will reboot after 5 mins on the connection fail screen.

Although if its dropping the settings, perhaps try a different power pack or thicker cable? If it still stuffs up send me a PM and ill see what I can do.

A bigger display would probably put the device out of most peoples price range. I had a request for same size screen in red and black even my suppliers in china wanted to charge more then twice the price I pay for the screens and strongly recommended against this because it looks bad apparently.

What about screens like this? They are cheap but look decent. Might be worth a try if you ask me. I would however recommend hiding the bottom bar of icons as it might confuse people, so maybe also create a whole new case for these units.

I would love it if you were able to do a version 2 of this where we can price alts to btc and dollars. Flashy colors and bigger screens are not needed for me, how they look and operate is perfect right now!

I'm certain you'll enjoy this cool gadget, it's not open on the back, you connect it on the side where it's open. Looks really good once it's on

I Just had my first AUS customer this week, pm me your email (for paypal) and the quantity of each color, Ill make a paypal payment request. Best is to do $10 AUD for express (max 3 devices).

Yea I would really love something bigger and I bet you would still have a good customer base by offering another size screen,, even with the increase in price.  Perhaps 5 to 8 inches?
