Putting this on the front site again Smiley

" What some people miss about XRP is the timeline. Ripple stands to revolutionize the entire banking industry. That’s not going to happen overnight. It will have its rallies and its steep corrections, but I expect it to consistently go up. Don’t buy this one expecting big things to happen as fast as other coins. (And don’t get cold feet when it drops half.) The key difference is that XRP is predicated on an extremely strong use case, team, and technology. Be willing to buy now and hold this token for minimally the next five years and I think you’ll see an incredible return on investment. If you want a simple way to think about Ripple: XRP is going to let us move money across borders in the same way that we move information across them today. And that’s an astronomical upside"

^ yo yo memberb , hows things m8

word on the (wall)street is...

there is going be be a huge downtrend coming...im guessing sept will be really rough for anyone not in crypto

HSBC Holdings Plc, Citigroup Inc. and Morgan Stanley see mounting evidence that global markets are in the last stage of their rallies before a downturn in the business cycle.

Analysts at the Wall Street behemoths cite signals including the breakdown of long-standing relationships between stocks, bonds and commodities as well as investors ignoring valuation fundamentals and data. It all means stock and credit markets are at risk of a painful drop.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-08-22/wall-street-banks-warn-winter-is-coming-as-business-cycle-peaks

grab em XRP asap and hodl em , there is a huge market coming and they dont mind paying $1, $5, $10 even $20 per XRP

For the first time in 39 years, banks now have a difficult choice when it comes to interbank payments and cross-border transfers of value.  Do they go with SWIFT, or do they go with Ripple?

Ripple establishes and announces the SWELL conference to compete with SIBOS, and this is year 1!

They announced it via countdown in case you were hiding under a rock for the last four days.   Smiley

I talk about it in my latest blog - please take a look and read for yourself - I include all the details you'll need to know: https://xrphodor.wordpress.com/2017/08/25/ripple-establishes-swell-conference-to-compete-with-sibos/

I am sad

You know what, it is not in a whale's best interest to allow a currency to climb in price above a particular level until they have accumulated as much of that currency as possible. It is obvious that the whales have created a sell wall and blocked the surging of XRP's price until they have collected sufficient XRP from the market.

Those who have not enough patience will hand over their XRP to the whales at the low price. Roll Eyes

XRP will be going to moon as per ripples tweet Founder of the World Wide Web, @timberners_lee, will join ripples at  Oct. 17

so ripples going to pump up soon
this is a great news and i think it will be really helpful in pumping of the coin. i always think that this coin has a great potential and it will go to moon in the future. i have invested a huge amount in it and just waiting for it to pump its price as much as it can to gain profit.
i think after this news i have very confidence on ripple and now i am looking forward to invest some more money in it

It is a good idea to accumulate more XRP at lower price which is the same as what the whales are doing. Grin

Whales created a sell wall?

Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm relatively new to crypto and might have missed some information in the development of Ripple.

But as far as I know, Ripple founders kept 80 billion of 100 billion Ripple when offering.

You know what I think? The Ripple founders just start selling whenever demand for Ripple has gone up. They make money - Ripple price goes down again. I wouldn't invest into Ripple until there's at least 80 billion Ripple in circulation.

After a lot of people raised concerns about the huge XRP holdings Ripple had, Ripple put 55bn of it in an escrow. They are now selling up to a billion per month (recently 300m per month) from that escrow. Somehow the escrow is limited to a bn sold per month, but who can really audit this?

So yes, they certainly can and possibly have put up a sell wall, and are controlling the price of the token by selling more (or less) each month.

Well, I have quite an amount and even though prices went up, I've been hodling and will be hodling for the next months. The fact that this coin is not decentralized is not necessarily a reason to not buy or hodl or support it. And it doesn't exclude supporting other decentralized coins either. So fingers crossed. And for those who sold, I hope they made a nice profit!

XRP is the best investment you can make.

I have been discussing XRP for a long time now, and had the same arguments over and over again. I understand the people who don't like XRP because working with banks goes against the crypto ethos, but apart from that I've yet to see a single sensible argument as to why XRP won't succeed.

Anyone who thinks XRP will not absolutely transform international finance - just research it more. Understand what Ripple are aiming for, and look at how they are going about it. The talent, ambition and professionalism of Ripple is unrivalled in crypto.

This is a long-term hold, and absolutely the best long-term hold.

I agree with most of what you said. I'm not convinced it's the best investment one can make, but it's definitely a long-term play. The fact that they have Ben fucking Bernanke as a speaker at their luau speaks volumes about the pull they have in the establishment, and the long-term potential for the coin. That's why I'm holding, and likely increasing my position now that the pullback is happening.

XRP and Ripple are not for those who are in for constant appreciation in the foreseeable future (years) due to Ripple's massive XRP holdings, or looking to change the status quo in the global banking system. It's for those who want to see SWIFT being deposed (I'm all for it, see what they've done in recent years), and possibly as an upcoming reserve currency. Latter is a huge if, and I'm not sure if Ripple and bankers even want that. If the Fed is one of the XRP holders and buyers, I'd wager there is a real chance of XRP becoming a new global reserve currency, though...
