The Silver Arrows still have the advantage over Ferrari it seems like. Even with the new rules, the engine advantage that Mercedes has is just too tough to overcome.
Australian GP Qualifying Times
1 Lewis Hamilton Mercedes 1:22.188 2 Sebastian Vettel Ferrari 1:22.456 3 Valtteri Bottas Mercedes 1:22.481 4 Kimi Raikkonen Ferrari 1:23.033 5 Max Verstappen Red Bull 1:23.485 6 Romain Grosjean Haas 1:24.074 7 Felipe Massa Williams 1:24.443 8 Carlos Sainz Toro Rosso 1:24.487 9 Daniil Kvyat Toro Rosso 1:24.512 10 Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull no time 11 Sergio Perez Force India 1:25.081 12 Nico Hulkenberg Renault 1:25.091 13 Fernando Alonso McLaren 1:25.425 14 Esteban Ocon Force India 1:25.568 15 Marcus Ericsson Sauber 1:26.465 16 Antonio Giovinazzi Sauber 1:26.419 17 Kevin Magnussen Haas 1:26.847 18 Stoffel Vandoorne McLaren 1:26.858 19 Lance Stroll Williams 1:27.143 20 Jolyon Palmer Renault 1:28.244
It looks like another nail in the coffin of Mclaren-Honda Reunion with these times. If it is true that the potential of the mercedes engine is far ahead of the competition this will be another boring F1 Championship to watch but maybe it will be good for gamblers as there will be high odds for the non favorites and I remember it was a race last year which finished with Fernando Alonso fastest lap of the race, the odd for this was 100. Remember that but was hopping to see from Renault they were good in testing but seem when real thing is they drop out, good to see finally more competitive Ferrari this season and hopping to see them fight trough the end of this race tomorrow.

I was disappointed that I lost my bet on Sebastian Vettel to be 1st in qualifying. But it was still a good performance and effort by Ferrari. I hope they maintain their competitiveness untl the end of the year. It is also very surprising to see Valteri so quick. He is no pushover.

Well it looks like Ferrari's pace wasn't all hype after all. He's currently first after a few laps. This will be a good season. And it's also nice to make a few value bets on Hamilton as the underdog for a change. Good job for Ferrari. I'm happy that we might see Vettel's finger from time to time this year.

A few more hours Moto Gp 2017 will take place, this is very exciting for me. Vinales always be the fastest in any session and the race later will prove whether he will be the fastest and finished 1. Vinales and Marquez will compete to be the best, I think Rossi will also follow them. For Lorenzo I think it will not finish in the top 4 because he must be adapt to Ducati.

I'm feeling a bit disappointed about first GP of the season, it was boring. Yes, it's interesting to see Ferrari in good shape so far. But Mercedes made mistake - Hamilton pit stop was to early. But until pit stop, gap between Hamilton and Vettel wasn't big. Other teams didn't prepared well for first GP, they had lot of technical problems today. Finally, I'm missing live timing on TV screen..

amazing sebastian vettel can win from lewis hamilton i think is good to competition this season 2017, because mercedes not dominant again, It was not really that amazing if you watched the race closely. Lewis Hamilton got caught up behind Max Verstappen when he came out of the pits. It would have been better if he came out behind Sebastian so we will see who is the quicker driver. I speculate Lewis would have overtaken Sebastian before the final lap if he had a clear exit. The Mercedes is the faster car.

Only thing that i was sorry on MOTOGP race was Zarco when he crashed, great driving from Viñales, Rossi and Marquez had to bee very pleased with result, and biggest disappointment is Lorenzo. And to be honest with this he was smooth talker on this new Ducati but not that good at all.
This promise to be great season if first race was like this can image how will be rest of the season.

True, very sorry Zarco could not finish supposed to be in wet track Ducati is very dominating but it could not be utilized Zarco. This is an advantage for Viñales, Rossi and Marquez. For Lorenzo seems indeed he must adapt to Ducati and it was not easy. I think Lorenzo is not good at this season, and he could not compete to become world champion.

I agree but Hamilton owes his car quite alot for being favourite. I dont think he is as dominant as some of the greatest drivers over the years that I can remember, I know he has the race wins on paper but he seems to fall short of his ability somehow Partly its because of his age that he is probably towards the last section of a career at the very top, but I dont think he really peaked as highly as his early potential showed. Hopefully he has the focus to stay on track and get another season win this year

Hopefully he has the focus to stay on track and get another season win this year
Can you name the drivers who were dominant that did not have the best car on the grid? From my limited knowledge in Formula 1, I have seen that the dominant team usually has something new that was introduced to their cars. This sport is not only about the drivers but it is also about the team of engineers who built the car.

I think Lorenzo is not good at this season, and he could not compete to become world champion. only casey stoner can control and good rider use ducati i think lorenzo with ducati can same with rossi use ducati several later, not compete wold champion, only win in one series is good result from lorenzo, until now lorenzo still under team mate in ducati dovizioso, dovi still good performance use ducati with the race track that many of straight track

But Dovizioso is doing good job with the bike to. Think that Lorenzo made same mistake as Rossi joining with ducati but think he might be good here cuz he pull his mechanic with him. After all this is only first race we will see how it will be in next ones.
