Like you said that you are a newbie, it is common wisdom that you start with little amount of fund to familiarize yourself with trading and learn. You are likely going to lose your initial fund and later after you have learnt and develop Your Own method of trading then you will start making profit.

First of all you need some good capital to earn decent amount of bitcoin/eth/usd or any currency you prefer. You need to chose which one is profitable to trade and to speculate which has good value, which has good volume or you can buy cheap altcoin hodl it and wait for it to increase, im not that good either and still figuring things out.

find a good altcoin or crowded on the market and buy with amounts above 100 or 1000 coins

First you have to deposit from your btc wallet to exchanger. Find a good coin to trade with and also watch video tutorial for trading so you have an idea about trading. Learn something to those people in some crypto groups, they can give you tricks on how to gain more btc in crypto trading.

Actually, before I started to do some trading I study about the things that affects the price of an altcoin, I read different topics here in the forum before about trading, you can also watch some tutorials in youtube. Starting to trade with a small amount is good enough for starters so that they could practice without losing huge amount of money.

Trading in very small amounts will lead to very small profits. Reasonable. I'd recommend increasing the number of your bitcoins to at least a small amount only at a glance. And with larger you can try some place to trade. In case if it will not be profitable in one, in another it will be at least something.

I started trading with an altcoin. Earned it through signature and social media campaigns and then started speculating the price when Developers were going to release some new features or when the coin is getting added into some exchanges. Then bought some more with the earned money, bought other coins which were cheap and had some potential. Sold them when I got a good return on investment. It is not easy but you will learn with time.
