Time of draw = Date when no more entries are allowed and the full final list is published + around 24 hours.

2. Player receives a numbered ticket when he or she completes the specified action like making a bet. (Requires altering the current mechanism)
The numbering is in chronological order. First bet gets ticket 1, second gets ticket 2, and so on.

3. The player is able to view his ticket number and the UTC time at which the bet was placed.

4. The usernames of all players holding tickets to the draw (partly or fully revealed), the corresponding ticket numbers and optionally the time the bet was placed are published and updated periodically.

5. Once the specified block is mined, the last 10 characters are taken and converted from hex to decimal. <The resulting number> modulo <the total number of tickets> + 1 will determine the winner of the highest prize. Next ticket will win the next highest prize and so on (I am not sure how many will agree on this, but it has the same effect as any other method of drawing the second and other winners.)
The draw is made, the winners selected, announced and paid.

6. The block number as well as the list of usernames and ticket numbers remain published for 3 months.

Sounds great to me. Regarding the second point, the player doesn't have to get a ticket based on the time he makes a bet, the list just has the be posted before the drawing takes place (preferably a few hours before), so people can verify their ticket number. While sportsbet.io could change your ticket number, there really isn't any point unless they have lucky numbers that they want their alts to have xD (assuming they have fake accounts).

It is not necessary, yeah. I just added it so it will need a bit effort on their part to add fake tickets. (Not saying they do it or anything - I trust them with it, just that a 'provably fair' system should prevent it. Since it can't, make it not easy.) For example, if there are 100 participants, they can add 100 more and save 50% of the money.

I thought about this point a bit more, and think that chaining is a bad idea now. The reasoning behind this is that they could put 13 tickets in for every 13 real tickets, and guarantee winning half the prizes (with a 50% chance to win the 1 BTC prize). It would be way too easy for them to rig it, knowing it is chained. I think we should use a combo of multiple blocks and different character amounts, so it doesnt take too long.

Example:
Block 1 - Last 10 characters for the first place
Block 2 - last 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 characters of the hash
Block 3 - same as above
Block 4 - same as above
Block 5 - same as above
Block 6 - same as above

Waiting 26 blocks might be a huge pain.

I don't agree. The odds of a ticket winning are exactly the same. If house adds a certain amount of tickets, it has the exact same probability of winning any prizes under any method.

It is really simple. If you cannot predict x, how good are you at predicting x + 1?
The probability of correctly predicting x = the probability of correctly predicting x + 1 = the probability of correctly predicting x - 6 = whatever


On another note, the higher the number of characters we take, the less is the (insignificantly tiny) advantage of the first tickets over the last. How about 25 last characters of the hash?

Just to make my point clear again,
every one in the 26 tickets have an equal chance of winning the first prize.
every one in the remaining 25 tickets have an equal chance of winning the second prize.
every one in the remaining 24 tickets have an equal chance of winning the third prize.




On the assumption that all prizes are equal, they get 50% more or less in the relatively long term. Adding tickets don't cost. There is no risk involved for them in both the cases.

I don't agree. The odds of a ticket winning are exactly the same. If house adds a certain amount of tickets, it has the exact same probability of winning any prizes under any method.

I disagree to your disagreement. If you chain the winners (like person 1 wins #1, than person 2 wins 2nd, e.t.c), putting in 13 tickets right after 13 legit tickets were given (at least that was what I meant, I do realize now that it was a bit vauge) and repeating, this will guarantee they win half the prizes. Why? If one of the 13 real ones win, the 13 fake ones will follow after the first 13 prizes. If the fake one will win, they still will win half the prizes, since after the fake ones are over, than the real ones are there. Once the real ones have past, there will be more spots for the fake tickets to win.

If another method is used (without chained winners), sportsbet.io can't guarantee a winner.
