Have a look at the GitHub if you're worried about progress... Or read the Twitter feed. Join the Slack channel. There are many good ways to keep up to date, BitcoinTalk is not one of them Smiley

https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin

https://twitter.com/syscoin
join.syscoin.org

The team is doing a weekly update on the project and they post it on this bitcointalk ANN thread so I have to disagree with you, bitcointalk can also be a good place for news and update.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I totally agree with your opinion. I gave up my Poloniex account. I have no desire to make Goldman Sachs even richer or to give them control over my coins.  Wink

I completely agree too. The problem is, we're unable to get our coins out because their wallet is still "temporarily disabled" for weeks/months now.

Yes, such behavior is intolerable. They actually made enough fiat money to have better support for their customers. Something like that really borders fraud.  Sad  Shocked

But they cant make more than trying. They cant win with Goldman Sachs. Bank blackmail anonymous users "identify or we take your all coins on OUR exchange."
Its not only SYS. But SYS have still not working wallet so its more than blackmail anonymous users because nobody cant withrawal SYS before they repair wallet to make it v.3.0.
I am very pleased about my acount is empty on Poloniex but unfortunatelly I was make KYC before bank bought Poloniex Sad But I no planning use this exanche anymore.

The problem with Poloniex seems to be bigger than I thought. 7 500 000 SYS are really many. It's really a shame what poloniex does with its customers. Would like to help you somehow, but unfortunately I don't know how.  Sad

Exactly. There's currently over 7 500 000 SYS being held hostage by Poloniex atm. It was more, but as users get sick & tired of waiting for a wallet they are cutting their losses, dumping for BTC & moving to a different exchange & coin. This whole situation looks bad for Syscoin & it doesn't help that the team don't seem to care too much either tbh.

Wow that's a lot of money, I didn't know it was that much I hope everyone will be able to recover their tokens, 75 million SYS that's like 75 masternodes right ?

our initial ico coins were stolen but we kept going without funding for years for passion and believing we can make a difference.

I just had a reply from poloniex support(?) - after over 4 weeks:

Hi,

Our engineering team is in contact with the Syscoin developers and are currently working on getting the wallet back on-line.  Trust me when I say that they are doing all they can.

Best,
Poloniex Support Team

Can someone/anyone from the official Syscoin team confirm this please?
they have had the instructions and bianries since I told you.

Have they been in touch since then, like they are saying?

Can you tell us the date you sent the info to them please? I've repeatedly asked for this info from the Syscoin team both by PM & here on this forum but have had no reply - why?

We are in touch with them, as much as I would like to provide a Poloniex update, we currently cannot as that would need to come from Poloniex.

Maybe they don't answer because they didn't do it at all. Why else wouldn't they tell us?

On another note, I'm posting this info here because the Syscoin team obviously think that a virus infected windows installer downloaded from their compromised repo that plants trojans onto Syscoin users computers isn't important enough to tell the Syscoin community about:

https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/wiki/Security-Notice-for-Windows-based-installers

https://github.com/syscoin/syscoin/issues/217

How can the Syscoin team possibly NOT inform the community here about this?

Any Syscoin user who used the windows installer should read the above & take immediate action!

The Syscoin team not bothering to warn the community about this is unforgivable, but considering their complete lack of interaction with their own community here, not surprising. I've now lost all faith in this project & the team behind it, as well as my coins on Poloniex most likely. Not warning or informing their own users/supporters about this infected installer is the last straw for me - if they can't be bothered with the community here they might as well close & lock this thread & let the project die. This is scandalous.

I'm done with it.

I've certainly been in contact with Poloniex since several days before the last fork, please see my last response for what we can/cannot communicate.

We have communicated the security issue it in ALL of our social networks except for Bitcointalk as it was late, but it has been updated now.

Please see Facebook/linkedin/instagram/twitter & Google plus for real-time updates.

Hello guys, I have installed a masternode, all went well till I started a newly created MN from a wallet. It was a first time, the wallet was not locked and I planned to setup encryption and create a passcode later. But suddenly wallet is encrypted and "locked" by itself and I have no passcode.

How could it be? My masternode is started, all looks good.

I can't do anything now - I did not setup encryption and do not have a passcode, but the wallet is locked. What do I do?

Please help. thank you

Wallet on Macos, Syscoin Core version v3.0.4.1-2086103 (64-bit)

- Update: It looks like wallet gets locked (even it previously was not) after creating and starting MN. restart it and it remains unlocked. So, this is solved. But was scary to see wallet with collateral asking for a key that I did not create yet:-)

"Can you [sebastien1234] please forward me the dates of your tickets to them [Circle/Poloniex] & the dates of their responses, particularly the dates of when you supplied them the info they requested? This info will be required by the various governing institutions I am reporting Circle/Poloniex to & will speed up the complaints process significantly.

Thanks again."

Also, if anyone can tell me the exact date that they took the Syscoin wallet offline, that would be really helpful too. I'd ask Circle/Poloniex myself via support, but they're not answering. For transparency I guess...... Roll Eyes

Did you get any reply to this yet?

No, nothing. Very disconcerting.

Wow that's a lot of money, I didn't know it was that much I hope everyone will be able to recover their tokens, 75 million SYS that's like 75 masternodes right ?

It's ~7.5 million actually.  Hmmm....What are the odds that Poloniex are using our coins to run their own masternodes I wonder? That would certainly explain why they're in no hurry to give us our coins back......

Right, I wanted to say 7.5 million and not 75 million. 75 million will just be too much, it is like 750 worth of masternode haha  Grin

We have communicated the security issue it in ALL of our social networks except for Bitcointalk as it was late...

Too late? Too late for what? It's never too late to warn your investors about a known virus in your installers - what kind of answer is that? Was it past your bedtime after "communicating" on ALL your social networks apart from the biggest & most used forum on the planet that you couldn't even copy/paste a link & simple sentence?

No, you simply couldn't be bothered. You're some different kind of PR Director.

I did post about it the following day on Bitcointalk, it was a mistake due to it being a late release; it was an honest answer.

FYI, I'm PR director for Blockchain Foundry Inc., I volunteer my personal time for the decentralized Syscoin project that I also co-founded and is a community-driven effort like all true decentralized cryptocurrencies. We have the SCMT (Syscoin Community Marketing Team) that also takes care of spreading the word.
