Steemit.com: Blogging is the new Mining

Why can't I login in steemit.com? I registered using my fb account but when logging in, it always say that username does not exist?

I got the same problem after creating an account I cant loggin. Says username doesnt exist.

Now, if the content is saved on the blockchain, then I think everything published "on Steem" will also be displayed on steemit.com, am I right?

Other thing that isn't totally clear to me is how accounts are created. On Steemit you must give a Facebook or Reddit account to prevent bulk account creation. How is this restriction be implemented? If you are running a regular Steem client, couldn't you simply create new addresses/accounts with the Steem client and then vote all your content up? Or does the Steem client itself check that the reddit/facebook profiles exist?

My account was in the first round of hacking - but looking at it, it looks fine. I just can't log in with my master key.

From what I understand, someone posted a page with an XSS exploit - and anyone who browsed that page became compromised. My account got frozen on Friday (the first round). So I think I'm OK if only I could figure a way to get back in.

I think they are doing a hard fork at 15:00 UTC today and hopefully that resolves things.

Try after the fork, and there will probably be more announcements, but as I understand it at this point, you need to contact steemit support and they will help you recover the account.

They're not responding to emails, but I think that might be because they are inundated. Hopefully they'll allow access via Reddit after the fork.

They froze some accounts (including mine) because they think they might have been compromised - as a result the master password doesn't work. But they haven't figured a way of allowing us to retrieve our accounts and change our passwords. So am locked out!

It costs 10 STEEM(might be 5 now), to create an account with steemd. When you "sign-up" with FB or reddit, the site uses some of its STEEM to create an account for you. You can also "mine" an account, the first POW you find creates your account.

On old account at site i have 10 steem, but I don`t know if those were mined by me, or I got it when they created my account and credited it, also waiting for a way to recover because its blocked by hack

I'm in the same position you are. I have no evidence my account was "compromised", but they froze it.
Our accounts are actually hardcoded in a list in the hard fork code, I can see we are both on the list:

You can just use you account name and key to login but this is not safe. If you change your posting private-key to something different than your main key, then you can just login with your posting key, but will not be able to access the wallet on steemit, only post and up/downvote.

...I estimate that by 2025, Artificial Intelligence software will be able to actually create quality content. This will be a result of fusion with AI-pattern recognition abilities which find successful trends in content. Thus AI will be able to post proper content at the proper times to maximize its income and compete (!) with human authors. Initially it will probably start with AI trying to insert small comments that have high-upvote possibility and then escalate to meme-type posts, before creating full-blown posts itself.

I also expect that by 2020 (latest) AI curation will take the place of if-then-else bots - based on finding common patterns of success in curation / rewards.

If posting and curation is the "mining" of STEEM, then I predict that AI will be the "ASIC miner" equivalent.

If there are innovation from developer of steem, i think this coin will survive and if there are not innovation it will become scam coin. In my opinion it is just fluctuating of price and That is normal. Let's wait and see updating from the developer.
