Could Steemit be a way of devaluing bit coin
If the value of bit coin is based on its scarcity and also thats is it the most adopted crypto currencies. Then problem for rivals is up take.
Why would you bother investing in a new coin when BC has market dominance.  Based on that BC keeps its market share and its value
Steemit on the other hand has found a unique way to incentive people to adopt it . if this happens on mass and it  turns out not to be a ponzy scheme. Thewn surly the only effect it can have on BC  is to devalue it, as the scarcity of a viable crypto currency becomes negated by Steemit. Based on that could Steemit be the establishments way of taking out bit coin

In case anyone is wondering why I removed my steemit signature. I removed it for the time being, until I figure out more about the referral system, since it is not active yet. There is not currently any way that I know of to check my referral stats, so I did not want to mislead people, or encourage others to refer people if it may never come in to be a factor. I still do support Steem and Steemit though.

A bit of advice. You will need to promote your posts somehow. If you are writing on well known topics try to get links out there on Twitter and other social media to generate discussion. Try to cultivate a relationship with the higher power voters (not just whales but dolphins too), not necessarily to influence their votes, but so they know you exist at all.

A big issue with the site right now is there is a huge amount of content and few useful features for finding anything. So many new bloggers will just post and do nothing else, and then be disappointed when they don't get a lot votes (its usually because no one even saw their posts).

Not all votes count the same. Vote weight differs depending how much money each voter has invested in the platform. This prevents, say, 100 bots with zero money backing their votes rigging the system. It's more of a "put your money where your mouth is" type of voting system.

So if you get 100 votes by people with not much investment it may not count as much as 10 votes with people that have a small investment.

Note that this investment is not necessarily acquired by putting money in. It is also automatic by the fact that all article rewards are split in two: Half the money you get in steem dollars (liquid) and another half in steem power (which is the invested part).

So, if you make an article and I upvote you (I have ~1500 steem power), you'll get 0.03$. And when you get them, you can liquidate 0.015 and the other 0.015 will be invested so that you can have some voting power as well. Something like that (I've left out curation percentages to simplify it)

Get people to know you (and your posts) exist. There are many posts on the site, including some good ones, that no one knows about so they don't get votes. How you do that sort of promotion is up to you, but it is almost essential unless you already have some kind of following and can bring them along to the platform

I'm a bit torn between posting links to steemit articles here and not posting them. On one hand, some may consider them spams, on the other, it doesn't happen often and if may help readers find interesting (but sometimes invisible) content. What do you guys think about that?
