The only other crypto currency I can think of replacing the bitcoin is the Ethereum. Many bitcoiners are buying it.
I think so. The Ethereum trading volume is even higher than the bitcoin at the moment. So people are interested in it.

Yes ethereum is doing a good job now but still it is below bitcoin and really far. A lot are supporting ETH yes but with popularity and usage now it is still bitcoin who have the most. Maybe someday it will change.

I believe so because nothing is permanent in this world. There would always be changes. Some say that it's ETH and now it's ETC. It really depends on the people. Someone will create or already created a cryptocurrency that can make the bitcoin obsolete. It may not be clear now but in the future when someone will be interested in that certain cryptocurrency and pump its value then maybe bitcoiners will transfer some of their funds to that cryptocurrency and later on make the bitcoin's value lower.

no i do not think so, that bitcoin can be replace by any other currency, bitcoin is getting popular day by day. people are entering in the world of bitcoin on daily bases, they are investing their money in bitcoin, some people are also using bitcoin as in place of fiat money, some shops are now accepting bitcoin for shopping, and the government is now taking serious decision about bitcoin legalization, therefore i do not think so that the bitcoin is going to be merge or replace my any other currency.

I think it's safe to say that the majority of the people don't give a damn about the technology side of Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. They just focus on the price going up higher and higher so they can make money in a very short time. That's all they care about. For me personally the technology side of Bitcoin is very important because its decentralized nature allows us to store money outside the reach of banks and governments.

God, I really hate when people bring these kind of arguments to the table in what makes the best cryptocurrency/money... The price demand has nothing to do with the functionality of the currency or makes it any better. If that's the case, gold would be a much better choice because it's valued higher per unit. There are still lots of issues facing Bitcoin and ethereum... Because the prices are high doesn't automatically make them better. There are other stuff out there that could be deemed better if they were priced the same.

I think if something better came along, this could be possible. But looking at the altcoin scene, I see absolutely nothing that will even come close to replacing bitcoin. It has first mover advantage, name recognition, and a lot of other plusses. And any coin would have to have some huge advantage that would make btc look like a dinosaur. I don't see it happening any time soon, if ever.

If the original Backside walkaround can prove to me they are the old owner of this account, I can update the email address to the email address of their choosing. Backside walkaround has lost access to their account as they used someone else's email address to sign up, and the owner of the email address got tired of random email notifications from this site after a few months and reset the password.

Does it make sense to believe that Bitcoin could one day be replaced by another cryptocurrency, that is, a cryptocurrency that really does make Bitcoin obsolete?
actually it could happen if there would better, faster and more popular crypto, but at this moment there are none like this so probably nothing will change bitcoin there is a possibility that bitcoin will be replaced by some more advance, user friendly altcoin in the future. I say it so because in this world the only permanent is change. We can have this strong belief that no one can replace bitcoin but it is still an assumption. If only bitcoin can evolve and adopt all the advance featurs of it's counter part in crypto currency then it is impossible for it to be replaced. i dont see it as a possible thing because bitcoin will always be better than any other currencies in the cryptoworld, in my opinion from now on bitcoin is going to get only more popular

Bitcoin does everything important people expect from it. Sending and receiving money, store of value, investment tool, blockchain where data can be stored, and so on. There is really no point into having another coin to take over. Every coin, no matter how great and useful it is, it will be nothing more than an altcoin.

Bitcoin is still a new thing, it is still getting bigger, however bitcoin is a precursor of cryptocurrency. That is the reason i think that we may see some other crypto getting bigger, because we will see new upgrades, solution coming in- and bitcoin will be just old-fashioned.

well, ethereum getting a lot of attention of crypto currency users. and bitcoiners also. but I don't think it can replace bitcoin ever. it may get a good place in market(already have quite good) but replacing bitcoin is not easy. bitcoin is the only and first crypto currency and it is un-replaceable now. No. it is not true. bitcoin won't become old-fashioned man. aren't you seeing that bitcoin is getting accepted in new sites, big shopping sites and big products? there is no other coin which getting that much attention.

That's happen because bitcoin already have a good value than other coins if bitcoin back to 1$ the acceptance of it will stop, and they will find other good coin. If bitcoin will never crash that's a good view and it's good for long term..

I think so. The Ethereum trading volume is even higher than the bitcoin at the moment. So people are interested in it. Maybe ETH is raised their moment with higher volume and passing the BTC but, if you know the ending of ETH traders is come back into bitcoin when they wanna to exchange their ETH into fiat balance.

Seen one that does this and he always want to boast it in me.

Last time i searched about ethereum it was said that there is no hard limit on number of ethereum ever mined, So i dont think it is wise to hold ethereum for long time.
