It's like the chances of survival has gone even lower for the altcoins to be able to take over the king (bitcoin).
Nowadays, my answer is a big NO. It will not be replaced by any cryptocurrency as of the moment.
Though it is either a good or a bad news because as an ordinary bitcoin user, the rise was beneficial for me. I don't know for the side of the altcoin owners.
If the price of bitcoin is to go down i am sure all the coins will fail without any doubt because the entire crypto currency market is modeled around bitcoin and its success and if one bubble break the entire bubble bursts.
No, there is a very high chance that crypto will stay. Maybe Bitcoin will go down, but crypto will stay. So if the price of Bitcoin will go down to cents then you can expect some severe problems with Bitcoin. It is most likely that most users will just change to another altcoin.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

naaaaaa . bitcoin cant replace by any other cryptocurrency . if ever they can replace bitcoin , its ok bitcoin has done to it .

Maybe Yes, and maybe No too, because we cannot predict on how long the bitcoin will rise and low and we do not know if somebody will do another coin and hit the high price as bitcoin does but then I guess it would be hard to beat bitcoin now because it is so in good condition and being known world wide.

There have been a lot of other alt currencies, but don't seem to have what Bitcoin does. I think down the road potentially, but as of now the focus seems to be on how to make Bitcoin better, safer and more accessible. We're pretty bullish on it.

They can't be bitcoin if bitcoin will be died and it will never replace by other cryptocurrencies because i think that bitcoin is the father of all alternative coins if theres no bitcoin it will be worthless for those altcoins. Bitcoin is good and very expensive to be change Tongue

Does anyone here actually know how Bitcoin or other crypto currencies work? Because to me it seems like Bitcoin is all about the price for you. So many people praising bitcoin without the knowledge and attracting even more investors. I am sure this is going to end well.

This discussion has nothing to do about being the father of all cryptocurrency, but the usage and effectiveness of Bitcoin with regards to economic and technical use.

I think at this time there is no other currency yet that surpasses bitcoin effectiveness in economic scale.  Thought I believe in terms of technology, there is far better currency that bitcoin but popularity and economic wise  there is none that will make bitcoin obsolete at this time.  The possibility is still there but when is still unknown.

I think that the only way bitcoin will be replaced by another crypto is if first it can prove itself. Crypto to most of the world is already a crazy idea, so I think BTC will be the one that the people put their faith in as it's already the "standard".

First bitcoin is not going down so much, the market can only take a little correction and after that it has to boost again, but is not going to crash ans i think the other coins have no such much concern with bitcoin, as they have their own status and value and not depending on bitcoin,

in 2013 it was not just a "little correction"  Grin it was a big slap in the face

You have a good point Bitcoin can never be replaced by any other currency no matter howuch an altcoin get success if someone think that that Bitcoin will go down and another coin will come in its place then they are wrong because when people come to know that Bitcoin was unable to survive then no one will ever believe on crypto currencies  so it is compulsory to work for Bitcoin for its size cess

This discussion has nothing to do about being the father of all cryptocurrency, but the usage and effectiveness of Bitcoin with regards to economic and technical use.

That's right, although there are some factors in bitcoin has made it less in his efficiency and effectivity. like validating the transaction. different with the bank there is some high trust for validating the transaction in bitcoin all of the nodes are same. That's will take more to validation the transaction. and this makes less in his efficiency. but this was preventing about the intervention from the parties.

Bitcoin is and almost always has been the king of crypto-currencies. Unless something goes drastically wrong, I see nothing surpassing it.

Many are also calling it as the father of all crypto's so basically when a crypto has a title like that. It is very impossible that it will be ever replaced by another crypto, I will believe if that will be replaced by a government controlled digital money but if we are talking about another crypto. I doubt it that bitcoin will be replaced.
The definition of replacement for me is when we transfer our interest with other currency, and we know the government cannot make a similar currency like bitcoin because of the contradicting factor which is the decentralization and centralization.

if ever bitcoin loses it's popularity, what will happen is that people will patronize an altcoins and the crypto world will still live progressively.

The thing is that Bitcoin was about transferring wealth from one party to another without a central body being involved, if someone say place 10,000 bitcoins on the market the market would be completely gone, back to 1 cent. The market cap is nothing without the Fiat backing. There would be less than 1 million users of BTC out of a would population of more than 7 billion.

Block Chain technology is were the money lays, if say a multi national bank decided that they would promise $1 for a coin that still pays people by the way of fees to compute the transactions it would win hands down as it would be more usable hands down.

because of th hard fork  it is very unlikely that bitcoins will be replaced by any other cryptocurrency .this is not going to happen in the future run .well it may rise more than bitcoins but i think it will be for a few amount of time .i the last bitcoins will always rule the world.
Totally agree.Bitcoin is too strong to be replaced by any other cryptocurrency.Bitcoin already exists for some good years and I think it will have a very long life.Bitcoin is the king and I think if Bitcoin vanishes the other cryptocurrencies will disappear too, because there will be no more trust in cryptocurrencies.Anyway,I don't think Bitcoin will disappear, because has too many "followers".
