Yes it will. Very soon I predict.
Bitcoin will come crashing in the coming months in 2018. Its dropped ever since 20k and doesnt have the momentum to go up again.
Bitcoin is a shitcoin. A glorified shitcoin.
Yes it was the original cryptocoin and have made the way for the cryptospace to grow and thrive.
But today its a dead shitcoin.
It consumes so much electricity just to have the network running. It painfully slow. The network steals your money everytime some does a transaction because the fees are so high. It have forked to several subcoins because people cant agree and is soon forking more.
Bitcoin is mined today by the wealthiest miners that can afford expensive farms or hardware that overcome the laughable high resistance on the network, the rest are nothing more than investors. Investing on a shitcoin.
Time to move on. People are dumping their Bitcoins for something else today like XRP and Ripple, and I suggest you people do the same because odds are high that Bitcoin will drop bigtime in 2018. Unless you want to go down with it.
I partly agree but not with your conclusion. Ripple might be better with transactions, but what about privacy and decentralisation? Shouldn't we look for a good replacement? I don't think so that Bitcoin can be replaced by any other cryptocurrency because Bitcoin today is the leading cryptocurrency and all the other cryptocurrencies altcoins are regulated with respect to Bitcoin.There are many investors of Bitcoin who daily invest in it.More and more users are joining Bitcoin as a profit margin is very large and they receive their profits in the short period of time.It has established itself in the market and is known by many people.Whenever there is topic of cryptocurrency.the only name that comes to mind is bitcoin only. |

Hi there Moneroman88! I know this tread is pretty old but I just want to tell what going into my mind every time I read a topic like this. I think bitcoin couldn’t be replace because for several things; First, bitcoin is still the leader in terms of market capitalization; Second, bitcoin is still the crypto with the highest price value; and Third, major crypto exchange trade volumes still account for bitcoins. Thus, even people who just want to earn money still prefer bitcoin. And lastly, there are more company that is starting to accept bitcoin as a payment as oppose to other altcoins.  |

There have been many cryptocurrencies rising nowadays but the answer to that question is unpredictable. As of the moment, Bitcoin had a stable growth and people are becoming more aware about it. It is the most successful and most known cryptocurrency around which makes it hard for it to be replaced.

This is possible if any altcoin has the potential and attracts the trader as well as the investor who cares and invests in it. I believe that bitcoin can not last forever and it will be beaten by a better altcoin. - Of course, although Bitcoin is king but each era will be born a new king, sooner or later, Bitcoin will also face strong and potential competitors, someday it will be defeated, people will gradually abandon Bitcoin and switch where the new ideal investment. There is a possibility because people are choosing what would benefit them for long term, there are altcoins and have different purpose than bitcoin but they are all decentralized, it's the decentralized nature that will remain but we cannot be sure who will dominate in the long run but as of today it's bitcoin which is the most popular. |

I expect that Bitcoin will not be replaced by any other crypto currency untill 2050.After that, it may be replaced by other crypto currency, but still Bitcoin will remain in the market, may not be in the first place

I personally think that this is a loaded question but it's interesting and relevant, it's my opinion that there are many cyrpto currencies out in the market. But many of them are not good and are irrelevant.
I think some of those who can make a huge breakthrough are as follows:-
1. Ethereum- well must be pretty obvious,but I think that it should be mentioned after all. This is the coin which the most potential currently.
2. Dashcoin- this one is well planned and made a big jump recently and can be trusted so far.
3.Dogecoin- OK,I admit that it may be received as a joke and criticized by many but it is making a rapid progress.
But this is unstable, and in its defence,so was Bitcoin.

Maybe, It could be replaced by another Cryptocurrency but I don't think so. Even if it will, it's going to be difficult. Bitcoin has become global, some say xrp is going to take over we can't tell yet.

I think no because as we cam see how bitcoin are very strong today due to always or active usage of many people and the people who are users of it are rapidly increasing nowadays. Bitcoin is actually the main coin of all other cryptocurrency and many people are actually convert their tokens and other cryptocurrency into bitcoin. Many other currency will somehow be invented but nothing will replaced bitcoin I guess. |

certainly, everything can happen. a few years ago, no one takes care of Bitcoin. But now, you can see its value. So, in the future, if Bitcoin cannot improve its weaknesses, some potential coins such as Dash, Zcash, Iota,... completely can replace it

Anything can happen but if the marketcap looks too far apart and almost all developers develop bitcoin, then it takes a long time to be able to replace bitcoin with another coin.

I don't think so. Bitcoin is a symbol. It has special meaning to the whole crypto / blockchain system. Now we already have so many altcoins but there is no one that could replace bitcoin.  |

I don't think bitcoin can be replaced by another cryptocurrency or other coins. Noticing the gap between coin's value has made a lot of difference which makes the bitcoin rank 1 in the whole crypto system. The difference from another crypto is ranging about $10000 which is very high.

It is possible for bitcoin to be replaced by other cryptocurrency, as I have observed a lot of people are even investing to other altcoins, however it is impossible for bitcoin to be obsolete at this time of age. People may switch to other cryptocurrencies but that does not mean every bitcoin user will do the same thing.

Which are those crypto currencies that you think are more expensive than bitcoin? Could you please enumerate them? As far as I know about digital currencies, there are two groups i.e. one includes bitcoin and other consists of altcoins and there is no altcoin so far which is even able to stand next to bitcoin. Bitcoin is the sole ruler of digital currencies and it will stay as well as long as digital currencies exist. There is no chance of replacement for bitcoin by itself replaced a lot of crypto from market and bitcoin is now last man standing in market because bitcoin is doing something extra for its users that’s why everyone they are going accept bitcoin and also companies and banks are also accepting bitcoin because bitcoin is very strong than ever and it’s very hard to defeat bitcoin because its un stoppable and I’m sure that bitcoin will survive for ever. |
