What is your reason to gamble? Fun or profit?

In sports gambling, i prefer to think gambling is a fun. Because, can support team i idolize, even if i lose no objection. Different with gambling poker or dice, there i am looking for profit.

Some people have different thought about this. I dont really like sportsbetting because the result is not instant. I prefer something with instant result such as dice or roulette. For some people it might be boring and sportsbetting give them higher chance to win. In the end it is up to the gamble which one to choose but if it is for fun then instant result should be much better

In my case it is profit, although I enjoy playing but if the main reason was having fun I wouldn’t play exactly as I play now. Also, when I play I try to control my emotions as much as I can because I know that playing emotionally may be more fun but it goes against my profits.

I think most of the people gambling for money only because even though they are gambling for fun but sometimes it makes them very serious about gambling and addictive to it also. Even I never found any person gambling for fun.

I think it makes sense, whoever gambles, whatever the purpose of the real gamble, there will be times when he gambles seriously and expects money. Nothing wrong if we expect to get money, because money is a gift promised by gambling.

Well money is not a gift and its more not a promised , we can earn only if we won if we are luck or anything else that makes us won. To be honest im thinking and expecting money in gambling i know its wrong but i earn on it.

It is not only you but a huge list is up there with thinking in their mind to earn money. I don’t believe if someone is claiming to gamble for just fun and entertainment. Because there are more than thousand ways to get fun rather to lose your money in just a “Fun-thing”.

I agree. Most people gamble for EASY MONEY. There are other ways to have fun without the odds of losing a fortune. You gamble because you want to gain instant profit and you have fun while winning but fun is not the word if things aren't going your way.

I'm aiming for a good profit. It'll be more fun if I get what I'm aiming for. My friends and I were having fun while playing and it satisfies me whenever I get the profit. If I will gamble usually what I really want is to gain profit while enjoying the game, unlike other rich people who really enjoy gambling despite them loosing a lot I would rather think about my financial capability first. We know that gambling can also lead to some people to get addicted to it but for me I always maintain a clear mind to immediately stop before I hit my limit. I don’t want to be like those people who gamble until dry even their assets are also used as a collateral. I will gamble if I can see profit specially if I know I have a higher chance to win.

and if it is no longer fun anymore, you need to better stop that gambling session at once before you get even more disappointed. gambling is really relieving to some and that is their way of having fun and entertainment but not really for profit - they have other ways to earn with gambling that is just for fun and to kill some time

I agree that there is are better ways to earn aside from gambling but most of us here, honestly, wanted to win a stake while having fun.  It adds spice to the entertainment and excitement too.  Though some people forgot that gambling is made for entertainment,  lots of people still know that gambling should be played in moderation and only play with the money they can afford to lose.  Getting to serious on playing gambling games will take the fun out of the session and will get people stressed and frustrated when they lose.

It is matter of fact that people often start with intensions of fun and entertainment. But later on when they play and they lose so the need of getting back the lost money make them addict and they play again and lose and it goes on. So leave it, better it is.

Everyone feel less fun when they lose but the main point of playing for profit is that when we play for profit, we are only focusing on how to get profit but when we play for fun then we are focusing on having fun. That means we dont care about the result because the main satisfaction is not about winning or losing but more about having fun

When I was a beginner I used gambling to earn profit but every attemp that I have made is futile because I always ended up to a losser. Then, I found out this forum and I gradually lost my will to gamble that's why I used gambling just for fun purpose only.

It is for your own good kid! I am also a fun seeker gambler because I know the fact, if you want to earn something and do big things, you need to do hard work, put a lot of effort and keep on going no matter what it costs you, gambling is nowhere near all these.

Humans have greed and if someone claims that he has not, the he is a liar. It can be the case that one controls his nature and emotions in a very effective way but that does not imply his feelings are dead. People change with time and money is very attractive.

It's a choice of both, we gamble for profit and if we win, that's really fun at all. There's no gambler that is having fun when he's on the losing streak and instead of having fun we are mostly going to feel upset and very bad on that moment. For me it doesn't depend on what games I play, because you can seek profit from gambling through fun and not in case to case basis. Most gamblers find it more chances of profit as they enjoy with their activities with gambling. It was just an excuse that they tell others that they made fun over it. That's why it made more people addicted rather behind the fun that they had for long time, although profit is present but loses could not be determined how much it is really.
