Do not forget about shipping costs. I don't remember how much it was but it was not cheap with my A2s. Also wire transfer fee's.

I personally think this first batch will be slower than later batches due to quality improvements in future chip dies. My hunch is that this first batch did not turn out as expected although I have nothing to base that on other than experience in chip production.

I also suspect the same thing.  Having seen the video with the chip hashing and the watts per hash it appears this chip is capable of far greater numbers than this first batch is indicating.  So I do think that they will probably work out the kinks and we will see some later batches that hash closer to those original numbers.  How long that will be is anyones guess.  I suspect that will largely be based on the valuations in the crypto's market.

Then again this could be part of a strategy to be able to life cycle this chip out over the next couple of years and unless more competition shows up in miner market they really have this all to themselves right now.  Actually makes sense and helps them recoup any investment cost they have.  Sounds like good business if that is what they are thinking.

I have to say i am very disappointed with the final specs. Need more info before i decide to buy or not. Was looking at 2 or 3 but not sure now.
first news they accounced specs where much much better, better than knc titan. but 1000W per 260Mhs Huh thats worse than KNC TITAN (how old knc titan is!!!). very disappoiting
Um...
Its better than Titan, but not by much.
Titan: 1500w @ 350mh - 4.3w/mh
A4: 1000w @ 260mh - 3.84w/mh

The Titan W are at the wall, who knows if the A4 quote is at the wall, if not then it could end up being worse than the Titan.

I got some feedback from Innosilicon that, the final product will be at 280MHs@1000w, a minor improvement hash/power ratio.

Thanks for the added info Citronick.  They just replied back to me also indicating they will be providing the details and specs on the A4 miner in the next 1 or 2 days.  And that they will be joining us here on this group buy thread shortly.  So that is good news.

thats great - I had written to them earlier this year to upgrade my current A2s.

Good luck on the group buy.

Btw, in one of their emails, I noticed that they prefer DHL because it's cheaper - I think this is ok because DHL does pretty good delivery service in Asia compared to Fedex and UPS. DHL to the US from China, should be no issues too.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

Yes, I think I saw the same thing regarding DHL as their preferred shipper due to cost.  Should not be an issue for US delivery either.  DHL has never been an issue for me in my area.  YMMV

We have an update from Inno on the A4.  I added that info to the original post.  Specs have changed a bit for the better.  We now have dimensions for the miner and some power consumption figures.  The ship dates have moved forward and now we are looking at August - September ship dates.  So it looks like things are starting to firm up.

Here is a updated info we received:
Quote
Update: World Most Profitable A4 Dominator Miner is coming soon! Early batch goes fast with best efficiency ever and very limited quantity, and who are the lucky ones to get the access to the first batch will, with no doubt, enjoy the early gain before anybody else, that means big profit.

Pre-order price: 1800 USD per unit plus shipping fee, 5 units to start

Estimated delivery time: Starts from August and max delay is one month.

Warrantee: 45 days parts warranty

Specifications:
l  Part Number: INNOSILICON A4 Dominator 280Mhs per unit (+-10% performance, can be over-clocked at user's risk)
l  Size: Length 28cm * Width 12.8cm * Height 25cm
l  Net weight: 11KG (without PSU)
l  ASIC: A4, 80pcs
l  Blade: 4pcs
l  Voltage: +12V
l  Power efficiency: Initial batch will be defaulted at 3.2W/Mhs in Turbo mode, 2.2W/Mhs in Norminal mode, and 1.35W/Mhs in ultra low power mode
l  Required rated PSU: 1000W or above, 8 * PCI-E 6Pin
PSU is external and exclusive to save your international shipping cost, which can be acquired used easily at low cost or reused from old version miners.
l  Included: Raspberry Pi, it is plug and play with your PSU

So the significant changes here are that it is a 5 unit order minimum to start.  Looks like about 896 watts at the miner estimated so depending on the PSU used it is roughly 1000w at the wall in the default turbo mode.  280mh vs the 260mh previously mentioned.  Unit size looks to be fairly small so shipping charges shouldn't be outrageous.  Looks like the PSU will need to be substantial as you need 8 6 pin pcie power connectors.  And of course now it looks like an August-Sept ship date.

We are trying to get the information from Innosilicon now on how they want to handled these orders, payments, shipping, etc. It appears they must be really busy trying to get things ready for these miners.

It has been tough to get information from them so far so it appears things are still a work in progress.  I am hoping we can get some pictures and video of these miners running, and the process for doing this group buy ordering.  I will post any details as quickly as I get them.

It appears we have more than enough people to get a first order together and submitted.  If we can just get the ordering details from Inno I would like to get confirmations from those interested in getting in on the first order so we can get this ball rolling.  If they are going to be shipping in August/Sept then I would like to get our first order in as soon as possible.  So I will keep you all posted.  I am still hoping Inno will join this conversation and speak to this group directly to provide us direction on how they would like to have us handle this order.  Hopefully that will happen soon.

That would be great. Depending on shipping and handling of order processing I want 2-4 and hoping I can have them shipped directly to a host of my choice.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

We have an update!  Whoooohooo! ROFL

So we have some updates to share. Here is the info we have regarding the group buy:

Regarding the group buy and shipping:
Quote
For group buy, shipping is a concern since we can only enjoy discount from DHL for at least 31kg. Suggestion is that each customer buy at least three units. For customers who use their own carrier account, this won’t be a problem.

Regarding payment method and process:
Quote
We can only accept wire payment. Group buy customers can send me email for payment instruction and quantity confirmation, and then wire the payment to our bank account directly. Shipping fee will be charged in August before delivery since it fluctuates a bit each month with the fluctuation of bunker surcharge. I can give estimated shipping fee though.

Contacting Innosilcon to take advantage of the group buy:
Quote
Please do ask to send email with the group buy link so I can recognize them. Thanks!

More miner info:
Innosilicon provided an update that they will be posting a new video soon of the A4 Dominator.

If you would like to contact Innosilicon to take advantage of the group buy offer you will need to order at least 3 units, or work together with other forum members to make an arrangement where at least 3 units can be ordered at a time and shipped to a single address.  Then coordinate how you want to ship or pickup your miner from the member who received the shipment.

To order please email Innosilicon(Chloe Zhang) directly and include in the subject Bitcoin Talk Forum Group Buy.  She will be able to give the bank wire transfer instructions and give you a quote on the shipping.  Her email address is: zhangq@innosilicon.com.cn

For those that are interested in buying the A4, but will no be ordering 3 or more units make your need known and we can arrange to possible take delivery with a forum member here, and then you would still have to pay shipping from there to your address on top of the portion of the shipping from Inno to us.  Or if you guys have some other ideas let me know and we will see what we can do to accommodate as many folks as possible.

Ok, so that is the update.  If you want to get your order in reach out to Chloe and she will get you the wire transfer info and shipping info.

Let me know if you have any questions, or of course feel free to email Chloe and ask her directly.  Let her know your part of the BCT group buy.  She will be looking for those emails.

For group buy, does Innosilicon accept BTC?

So if I want to buy 3 units for example, all I have to do is mention "Bitcointalk.org Group Buy" and they will process it?

Yes, just mention Bitcoin Talk Group Buy in the subject and she will be looking for these emails.  They only take wire transfers direct to their bank accounts.

It looks like they are going to cut the group buy here some slack.  The limitation now is DHL.

For those of you in the US that are interested in getting an A4, but don't want to commit to ordering 3 or more of them I would like to suggest that a forum member who wants to buy 1 or more miners and would be willing to take delivery of a bunch of miners for the group here could act as a central shipping destination.  We then would pay postage from that forum members location to our own.  This of course needs to be someone that we trust to send us the miners once they arrive.  We would pay our funds to Inno directly and then when all paid and the miners ship they would be shipped to the forum member here who could send these to each purchaser.

Also keep in mind that we "may" have to pay import fees as well.  It is hit or miss regarding having to pay these fees.  I have had it go both ways when buying stuff overseas.  So "BRACE YOURSELF" for the possibility of having to pay these fees.  If you don't agree to pay any import fees then please don't order a miner.  We want this group buy to be as smooth and trouble free as possible.

I am just thinking out loud here.  So please chime in if you have ideas, suggestions, or would be interested in being our "trusted" member on the forum that would help the group along that would be awesome.  I would like to see if we can get our orders in as soon as possible.   I would like to see if we can get some commitments from the group to move ahead.  So speak up.  We need your thoughts, and suggestions.

Thanks for all of your research, Longsnowsm. I am still interested in getting only one shipped into the US and am willing to work with others to get a few of these shipped over to honor Inno's min 3 requirement for the group buy. If anyone else has the same interest within the US and wants to get something figured out, let me know.
