The update, gone in place at 500k blocks, all done, and all worked fine, now we are waiting for the 502k block to start the new mining way with PoC2 plot files, to complete this phase.

I didn't fully understand. Will I have to replot my PoC1 files? As far as I understood PoC2 will only reduce my reading speeds by half. Is it correct?

yes, poc2 will reduce by half, no need to replot, there are programs to convert without replotting, this is the one i'm using if you have a windows machine : https://github.com/JohnnyFFM/Poc1to2Converter/releasesIt can convert your files, without the need for extra space rewriting them directly on the same hdd, obviously when converting one file, this one can't be used for mining while in the process of convertion.

Hope that for poc3 there will be another tool to convert, didn't study, at the moment, about poc3 phase. So i don't know if there will be the possibility to convert or if only a new plotting will solve.

Burst will create a decentralized open source platform that will allow you to move the value - according to your own rules

You should to encounter some problems if you want to use the PoC1 to PoC2 converters. Some miners in /r/burstcoin have said their system hanged after hours of waiting for the conversion. Replotting your drives will take longer but it is the better and smoother way to avoid issues that would waste more of your time.

At the moment converted 50% of my 26Tb. of plots on various HDD and no issues, using jminer to mine. Waiting the 502k block to start the conversion of the last 50%...

I have no idea who is right or wrong in all of this but I suggest the PoCC has the right attitude. Just work on getting the Burstcoin price up and ignore the rest.

For me the JohnnyFFM PoC1->PoC2 converter is reporting not enough disk space for in-place conversion. Garbage. Figures... it sounded too good to be true anyway, time to replot. It was the best way to do it anyway. Large mining farms should also replot gradually, the speed of mining of PoC2 will make up for the loss of time if they do the replotting gradually. With that said, some good news! Poloniex's Burst wallet is back and has supported the hard fork!

Hi, Would be a little more informative if you said what size drive you are replotting, how many plots, how much free size.... I have used version 1.8 and 2.0 for each of my SMR 8TB drivers, some which have as little as 463MB free, and all have worked fine. (I have plots of 7 * 1 TB, 2 * 200Gb and 1 * remainder - 7.57TB formatted). Dependent on your plotting speed, you could remove just your smallest plot, convert with Jonnys for the rest and then you just have 1 file to replot. Or just have lower read speeds and dont even bother re plotting. If you're in something like the 0-100 pool, then it doesnt really matter how long your reads take, so long as you get all your submissions in. J

J I have dozens of drives of varying sizes to convert, and they are full... most have < 10MB free space. Some guidance on how much free space is required per drive to convert would be beneficial. It would have been especially useful to know this ahead of time. I would think an in-place conversion means that the new plot file would take up the same amount of space as the old one, and not require some set amount of free space per drive. If there is some sort of temporary space reservation required for working files during the conversion, the program should have an option to use a different drive for that (one with enough free space on it).

Blast77, go to /r/burstcoin to get quick answers from expert miners. I think some of the PoCC developers also mine, so they might be able to help.
Less than 200 blocks to go before PoC2 is active!
