The Burst asset exchange is useless. It would be more advisable to hold all your Bursts only in Burst. There are some mining assets that might give you some value, but you should know the issuer personally and trust him not to hide away lol.

totally agree

There is also a problem in Burst's crowdfunding platform as I read it on /r/burstcoin. One crowdfund's bad signature caused a for of the blockchain leaving some nodes stuck and cant sync to the rest of the network for hours.

But everything is okay now. Its advisable to take snapshots of the blockchain locally to not sync again from 0.

Same here. Shutting down my node for now....and try the solution: Click Database than bootstrap chain. Will replace your forked Blockchain.
Hopefully after sync its up again

There are some nodes that were stuck but there were also some nodes that went on like nothing wrong was happening. Poloniex's nodes are ok but Bittrex has their nodes disabled.

I hope the PoCC is in close contact with Bittrex. There are some talks and speculations in /r/burstcoin that delisting is possible if a project is buggy.

Has anyone fixed their nodes and got it running back to normal again? I have been trying for several times now and I am still stuck to connecting to bad peers. I tried using an older copy of my H2 database and it always ends stuck on block 514,546.

I made a bootstap chain download yesterday and repopulate the mariadb from 0 during the day/night, now restarted wallet, i'm downloading last blocks i'm 24 hours behind, around block # 515130 and going on quickly.

Do you know where I can download an updated H2 database? I am having a hard time to install mariadb on my computer.

Is this the only way to download the blockchain now? There are some concerns in /r/burstcoin that the network is "broken" until all the nodes that are stuck are gone.

Too many massive players have a complete monopoly over Burst now.
Just look how many 1PB rigs there are.
I mean for me, in the UK, 1 PB, using 8TB external drives would cost me £18,750 and would earn me £290 per month, so 65 months (Yes over 5 years), just to recover my hardware costs.
Also, that many drives are not cheap on electricity, despite popular belief.
So unfortunately, much as i like Burst, and still mine it with 32TB (max i can do via solar power - so free) to me at least, its mining time has been and gone.

Was going to ask if it was worth looking into mining this still but I guess the above answers that.

If you feel mining is not worth, just buy the burst coins for the money you are willing to spend for mining. In this way, the value of the Burst Coin atleast will increase.

Athough, theres a lot of cheap capacity waiting to be plotted in the world to mine Burst and its becoming more cheaper every year. But thats also my fear. If Bursts are mine cheaply, does that mean the coins deserve to be priced cheaply?

The coins price will increase only when people start to buy more volume of coins from the exchanges. When they just mine and do not buy, obviously the price will be cheap.  Hence i would suggest people to buy Burst for the money (they are ready to invest for burst mining)... In this way, the price of the Burst will go up...
